The ending may not have been happy, but Jelena will remain one of our favorite love tales of all time! Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had been in an on-and-off relationship since 2010. They faced multiple roadblocks in their relationship but stuck to each other as long as they could until 2018. Scroll below for an emotional throwback that will leave you sobbing.
Justin and Selena gave their relationship a last try in 2017. The Rare Beauty owner even flew to Jamaica in February 2018 to attend his father Jeremy Bieber’s wedding. As Sel’s lyrics go, “Two months you replaced us” was quite the case as Jb moved on with supermodel Hailey Baldwin.

Veena Sud's 2010s TV series The Killing (based on Forbrydelsen by Søren Sveistrup) is still one of the most enthralling viewing experiences I've ever had, so I'm especially thrilled that Veena's 2020 Quibi series The Stranger (starring Maika Monroe as a rideshare driver who encounters a killer client plalyed by Dane DeHaan) has been re-cut as a feature film that will arrive on Hulu on April 15th:
Press Release: - TV creator and filmmaker Veena Sud and Hulu announced today that they are teaming on the release of Sud’s latest project, The Stranger. The horror film, which stars Maika Monroe (star of It Follows and Neon’s upcoming Longlegs), Dane DeHaan (recently seen in Oppenheimer and star of HBO’s The Staircase) and Avan Jogia, was written and directed by Sud, whose previous work includes the Emmy-nominated AMC/Netflix mystery series The Killing and police violence drama Seven Seconds,...

The character of Dr. Marvin Monroe (Harry Shearer) first appeared in the "The Simpsons" episode "There's No Disgrace Like Home". He would show up during the show's early seasons when Homer (Dan Castellaneta) was preoccupied with his family's perceived normal-ness. Homer looked at his home and saw the suburban ideals of a nuclear family slowly exploding. To combat this, Homer pawned the family TV -- an object he saw as problematic anyway -- and bought therapy sessions with Dr. Marvin Monroe, a family psychiatrist who promised "family bliss or double your money back." It seems the Simpsons were so dysfunctional that even Dr. Monroe couldn't cure them (a shock therapy session goes horribly awry).
Dr. Monroe typically appeared whenever "The Simpsons" required the word of a psychiatric specialist to aid in plot points. He was one of the show's many regular supporting characters, relegated to the background. However, the character...

Once upon a time, a bunch of disgustingly wealthy entertainment executives got together with a dream — a dream that answers the question, "What if people consumed film and TV in short segments like a TikTok playlist, but on a brand new platform that no one is going to pay to use with a bananas ridiculous name?" The result was Quibi, a short-form streaming platform that went as quickly as it came, shutting down after only seven months of operation and hemorrhaging over a billion dollars from investors.
The downfall of Quibi rivals that of fellow colossal "good idea on paper but never gonna happen in execution" entertainment failure, MoviePass, but came with the depressing caveat that Quibi actually produced a huge chunk of *content* that was now at risk of being drop-kicked into the unstreamable void of tax write-off and nothingness unless other platforms stepped in to save them. The 96th Academy Awards ceremony took place on March 10, 2024, and was a star-studded affair. While most of the focus was on all the talented artists nominated in various categories, by the time the night concluded, it was clear that Ryan Gosling had once again proven to be the show stealer after doing so in 2023’s Barbie.
Ryan Gosling as Ken in Barbie
At the event, Gosling performed I’m Just Ken, a song from the Greta Gerwig-directed film, which left everyone at the ceremony grooving. However, Gosling’s performance had deeper layers as it was meant to be a tribute to actress Marilyn Monroe and presented a gender-bent version of an iconic song from one of her films. Here is everything you need to know about Ryan Gosling’s Marilyn Monroe tribute at the Oscars.

While Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer may have won the most awards, Ryan Gosling’s performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ from Barbie stole the Oscars earlier today. Clad in a glittering pink suit, Gosling’s solo performance of his Oscar-nominated song received a standing ovation and made the entire auditorium stand up and sing.
Apart from a surprise guitar solo by Slash from Guns N’ Roses and Wolfgang Van Halen from Van Halen, fans picked out one more detail from Gosling’s soon-to-be legendary performance. The pink suit worn by Ryan Gosling as well as the background dancers’ tuxedo with pink stripes was a direct reference to Marilyn Monroe’s iconic costume from the song ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’.

One of Marilyn Monroe’s most famous quotes was, “I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.”
Now, there has to be an amendment to that line. More than 60 years after her death, there’s now a Digital Marilyn, created with artificial intelligence and capable of answering questions in her voice and style. The new version of Monroe debuted Friday at the South by Southwest tech conference in Austin, Texas.
The Digital Marilyn is a partnership between Soul Machines, which creates what it calls Biological AI-powered Digital People, and Authentic Brands Group, a company representing such icons as Monroe, Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali, Shaquille O’Neal, David Beckham, and many other celebrities and companies.

Years after the Elvis Presley and Tupac Shakur holograms, another celebrity is being brought back from the dead — this time, through artificial intelligence.
Soul Machines, the company behind AI-powered “digital people,” unveiled its partnership with Authentic Brands Group on Friday for Digital Marilyn, which uses Marilyn Monroe’s likeness to offer “both fans and brands a unique and personalized engagement opportunity.”
Authentic acquired the intellectual property of Monroe in 2011 after it was sold by Anna Strasberg, wife of Monroe’s late acting teacher Lee Strasberg. Monroe had left most of her estate to Lee in her will.
Digital Marilyn is said to “interact with fans in real-time using advanced natural language processing, deep learning and Gpt 3.5.” It replies in Marilyn’s voice and affectations, shares anecdotes from the late star and “even delivers personalized greetings.”

Audrey Hepburn is the absolute definition of classic Hollywood. The star of beloved films such as "Roman Holiday" and the criminally underseen "Wait Until Dark," she became the embodiment of the term movie star for decades until her passing in 1993. Perhaps no single movie embodies the greatness of Hepburn more than 1961's "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Based on Truman Capote's novel of the same name, director Blake Edwards helped turn Hepburn's Holly Golightly into a cinematic icon. Yet, amazingly enough, it's a role that Hepburn very nearly passed on.
Speaking to The New York Times in 1960, the actress discussed her role as a New York City socialite who was looking to marry a rich man only to find herself smitten by a writer. In the interview, Hepburn, who was coming off of "The Nun's Story" and "The Unforgiven," explained that she didn't believe she was right for the part. It...

One may resist celebrity culture, but most people have at least a few actors from pop culture history that mean something to them, whether they're from the silver screen or the flickering box.
Actors know how to spark our emotions and suspend our disbelief. They embody our favorite stories and the visions of our favorite filmmakers. The stars of film and television have the privilege of immortalizing themselves in certain times and places. But it is not just themselves that they immortalize. In their best projects, they capture many complexities of emotion and culture that are relevant to millions. Steve McQueen and his Mustang in "Bullet," Warren Beatty and his freewheeling libido in "Shampoo," Anthony Hopkins and his empathetic presidential turn in "Nixon" -- for better or worse, actors color our memories of the past in both trivial and important ways.

Would the Avatar sequels arrive on time if James Cameron weren’t so committed to his side gig producing documentary series about the planet he actually lives on? Perhaps we’ll never know. But even as the director has a full slate of blockbuster features in the pipeline, he remains as committed as ever to his work with National Geographic.
The filmmaker piped into Nat Geo’s Thursday meeting with the Television Critics Association to plug his sixth producorial effort for Disney’s conservation-minded brand in four years: Secrets of the Octopus. “As someone who’s fighting for sustainability and the preservation of nature, this is endless,” says the brand’s “Explorer at Large,” who recruited Paul Rudd to narrate this latest project. “They’re going to have to drag me out kicking and screaming — or show me where the door is because I’ve forgotten — before I stop doing this.

Hollywood actor who was Oscar-nominated for his first role, playing opposite Marilyn Monroe, and later became a TV star
The actor Don Murray, who has died aged 94, made his big screen debut in 1956 opposite Marilyn Monroe in Bus Stop. His performance as the gangling, wide-eyed cowboy who falls for a saloon bar singer earned him an Oscar nomination as best supporting actor and a Bafta nomination as most promising newcomer. Monroe was superb as Chérie and Murray as Beauregard, besotted and eager to marry, made the perfect foil.
His career continued strongly in 1957 with The Bachelor Party, in which he played a married man unhappy about the dubious happenings at a stag party, and A Hatful of Rain, as a Korean war veteran addicted to heroin. The director, Fred Zinnemann, described it as “the grimmest film I ever made”. Murray’s performance displayed the commitment that was to characterise much of his work.

Nat Geo, which is a linear network and part of the Disney+ universe, is not “immune” to the current idiosyncrasies of the television business.
Courteney Monroe, president of National Geographic, said the company is “very well positioned” to tackle the current malaise.
“I think no one is immune to the marketplace. But we are very well positioned… number one, we are a globally distributed network. We reach over 300 million households around the world, which is pretty staggering. It is a declining business but the linear channels around the world still account for a large part of our viewership. But we are very well positioned with a branded tile on Disney+,” she said, speaking at the TCA press tour.
This comes after one of her key lieutenants, Tom McDonald, EVP, Global Factual and Unscripted, recently said that “clearly, we have less money to spend than when I joined 18 months ago”.

Courteney Monroe, president of National Geographic Global Television Networks, said that this is only the start in terms of it adapting Disney IP.
Monroe was asked whether she could see a real-life version of Ratatouille and said it was a “good idea”.
“There is such a rich IP to mine and there’s so much shared DNA between the Nat Geo and Disney brands that we are exploring lots of opportunities,” she said at the TCA press tour. “You can imagine maybe a real Finding Nemo and other franchises there, where there’s so many families with young children on the Disney+ platform that would gravitate to the real world storytelling around this franchise.”
Earlier this morning, Nat Geo renewed A Real Bug’s Life, narrated by Awkwafina, for a second season, due to launch in the fall.

"You've got the teeth of the hydra upon you." As descriptions for YouTube videos go, the trailer for new Nicolas Cage/Maika Monroe horror film Longlegs is certainly in the running for most mysterious. Certainly looking to teaser more than spoil, the first footage from the film is online and you can hunt for clues below…
Indeed, the promotional material for Oz Perkins' new chiller has been refreshingly obscure so far, the posters (see below for a collected set) offering little in the way of clarity.
As for the synopsis? A little more to go on… Monroe plays "FBI Agent Lee Harker, who is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again." The cast also includes Alicia Witt, Blair Underwood and Erin Boyes.

Somehow, in the midst of the “first quarter” of the year’s cinematic doldrums and discards a nice surprise “pops’ up to jolt you awake, or at the least engage your senses. And it’s even rarer that it’s from a relative newcomer or an artist that’s not yet “on the radar”. That changes now. Like many creatives, she’s far from an “overnight star”, as her IMDb lists more than a dozen or so acting credits. And then there are several listings of “behind the camera” work, in features and shorts on the big screen and small. Now, with this release she’s a true “triple threat” as she makes her feature directing debut while emoting in nearly every scene. Film fans, here to inject much-needed energy and a bit of snark into the “rom-com” is Leah McKendrick in Scrambled.

His son, Christopher, confirmed Murray’s death to The New York Times, providing no further details. He secured an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the movie, depicting a tale of a smitten cowboy (Murray) enamored with a saloon singer (Monroe) who harbors an aversion towards him. Murray was also one of Monroe’s last leading men still alive. Born in Hollywood on July 31, 1929, Murray debuted on Broadway in 1951 in Tennessee Williams’ The Rose Tattoo and returned to the stage in 1955’s The Skin of Our Teeth. This performance attracted director Joshua Logan’s attention and was one reason he scored Bus Stop. During the Korean War, Murray, a conscientious objector, fulfilled his service commitment by working in German and Italian refugee camps. Known for his contributions...

Don Murray, who rose to fame co-starring with Marilyn Monroe in 1956’s Bus Stop and enjoyed a prolific career that stretched into the 21st Century with Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017, has died. He was 94.
His death was announced by his son Christopher to The New York Times. No additional details were provided.
Murray was Oscar-nominated for his debut performance as Beauregard “Beau” Decker, the lovestruck cowboy who falls for Monroe’s saloon singer Cherie in Joshua Logan’s Bus Stop, an adaptation of the William Inge play.
A conscientious objector during the Korean War who fulfilled his service obligation by working in German and Italian refugee camps, Murray became known for building an acting career in what were once called “message” movies, films with socially responsible themes. Neon has previously released four quick and creepy teaser trailers for Longlegs, the latest horror project from The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. February), I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and Gretel & Hansel director Osgood Perkins. You can check it out in the embed above. Longlegs is set to reach theatres on July 12th.

Leave it to Oz Perkins, the son of “Psycho” star Anthony Perkins, to stir up another cinematic nightmare. The first teaser has been released for Perkins’ so-far-so-mysterious “Longlegs,” out from Neon on July 12, with the director here officially credited as “Osgood Perkins,” also the name of the filmmaker’s grandfather.
The horror movie, which centers on an occult killing spree and one detective’s personal connection to it, stars “It Follows” scream queen Maika Monroe as an FBI agent assigned to a cold case now reawakened. But she soon uncovers a close-to-home link to the crimes, perhaps being orchestrated by Nicolas Cage as the murderer. Blair Underwood and Alicia Witt also star.
Perkins directed his own original screenplay for the Neon release — produced by Cage’s Saturn Pictures, Range, Traffic, Oddfellows, and C2 Motion Picture Group — that shot in Vancouver in early 2023. The marketing so far has been pretty mysterious...

Ever since the dawn of the internet, the art of the tease in marketing upcoming films has essentially gone extinct. We're all used to living in a 24/7 entertainment news cycle, where it's easy for the average layman (let alone Hollywood insider) to know which actor has signed a deal to appear in what movie before the thing ever gets made, let alone premiere on cinema screens. Nostalgic cinephiles like myself long for the days when teaser trailers were a regular phenomenon, made almost expressly to announce to general audiences that these movies are coming soon without giving much (or hardly anything) away.
Although the general trend for movie trailers these days is to essentially throw the baby out with the bathwater in terms of cast, plot, big highlight moments, and the like, teaser trailers do still occasionally get made, and it's always a special occasion when these trailers actually, well,...

‘Longlegs’ Teaser Trailer – New Horror Movie from Osgood Perkins Dives into the Nine Circles of Hell
Neon’s mysterious marketing campaign for Longlegs has set the stage for one of the most hotly anticipated trailer reveals of the year, and the wait is finally over this afternoon.
The upcoming serial killer horror movie marks the return of director Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel). Nicolas Cage stars alongside Maika Monroe, with Monroe playing an FBI agent and Cage playing a serial killer.
Longlegs is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.”
This first look at the movie doesn’t tell us much more about it than we already know, instead conveying an unsettling atmosphere that’s loaded up with mysterious visuals. We get several shots of Maika Monroe’s character (FBI Agent Lee Harker), a glimpse of a book exploring the Nine Circles of Hell, and even a person being killed from behind with an axe. It’s been almost 20 years since Mariah Carey last won a Grammy, so when she received the Global Impact Award from the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, she offered a dose of her signature comical shade.
“Is this a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in soooooo long,” she said Thursday night as she held the award.
“It’s weird. I don’t know,” Carey continued while laughing as the audience at the Fairmont Century Plaza cheered her on. “We’ll figure out what this is later.”
Carey is easily one of the best-selling acts of all-time and holds the record for most No. 1 hits — 20 — by a solo artist. She’s been nominated for 34 Grammys, winning five: best new artist and best female pop vocal performance (“Vision of Love”) in 1991, as well as three R&b honors at the 2006 ceremony for “We Belong Together” and The Emancipation of Mimi.

Late Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe’s former home, where she was found dead, has been rescued from demolition for the foreseeable future. The Hollywood legend bought the 1929-built Spanish-style hacienda on 5th Helena Drive in Los Angeles just six months before she was found dead in August 1962 at the age of 36, but in September, a permit was approved to tear down the home, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission, however, voted unanimously to declare the property a historic cultural monument on Thursday, January 18.
People magazine reports the commissioners noted that although Monroe only spent a few months living at the property which is where she was found dead in 1962, aged 36 — it was the only home she ever bought for herself.
However, the house’s future isn’t secured forever as designation as a historic cultural monument “does not guarantee that the property cannot be demolished” in Los Angeles,...

Distributor Neon has spent the first few weeks of 2024 teasing one of the horror movies they’ll be unleashing this year, and the campaign has been particularly interesting because they’re not telling us what movie they’re even promoting. Some think it’s the Hunter Schafer-starring Cuckoo, while most believe it’s the Nicolas Cage-starring Longlegs.
Our best guess is that it’s indeed Longlegs, a serial killer horror movie from director Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel). Nicolas Cage stars alongside Maika Monroe, with Monroe playing an FBI agent and Cage playing a serial killer.
For what it’s worth, Bloody Disgusting has heard that the official teaser trailer for Longlegs is coming soon, which lends credence to the belief that these teases are also for Longlegs.

A Los Angeles City commission today voted to preserve the former Brentwood home of Marilyn Monroe and recommended it be designated a historic-cultural monument after it was almost demolished last year at the request of the property owner. That demolition was stayed after an L.A. City Coucil vote triggered a temporary stay on all building permits while the matter is under consideration by the Cultural Heritage Commission and City Council.
The five-member Cultural Heritage Commission today voted unanimously to prevent demolition efforts of the iconic movie star’s home, located at 12000 block of Fifth Helena Drive. The commissioners each shared short remarks on the home’s cultural significance.
The Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously today to recommend a Historic Cultural Designation for 12305 Fifth Helena Drive, Marilyn Monroe’s former final home. Now the nomination will be reviewed by the LA Planning and Use Committee and then LA City Council.

The most interesting horror movie marketing campaign of the new year thus far has been for a mysterious upcoming movie from distributor Neon, which kicked off last week with an ultra creepy teaser that got the horror community talking. The viral marketing clip ran just 35-seconds long, beginning with a retro-looking family photo of a mother, father and daughter.
A call to 911 played over top of the photo, with the father explaining to the operator that something has happened to his daughter. “That’s not my daughter,” he says at one point during the chilling call, and the clip ends with what looks to be a crime scene photo. There were also strange symbols throughout the video, which many fans immediately got to work on decoding.
Many horror fans believe the teaser was for Neon’s upcoming horror movie Longlegs, but there’s been no official word from Neon since the teaser dropped last week.

Norma Barzman, one of the last surviving members of the Hollywood Blacklist, has died at her home in Beverly Hills at the age of 103, according to media reports.
Born in New York City, Barzman moved to Hollywood in the 1940s and married fellow screenwriter Ben Barzman. Looking for ways to organize around progressive politics, the pair joined the Communist Party from 1942-49.
“Hitler was invading the Soviet Union, so there was no reason to be anti-Russian. They were our allies at the time,” Barzman told the blog FilmTalk last year.
But after World War II, Barzman began to get warnings from her neighbors that her family was under surveillance, and one day heard a conversation she had with a friend days prior when she picked up the phone.
“I could hear it playing back. Then I put down the phone because I realized that my phone was tapped and I knew they were watching us,...
