Neve Campbell admits she was relieved not to have her kids with her when she was filming “Clouds.”
“I’d have some stuff to shed every evening,” she tells Variety. “There were days of heavy crying, and I’d just be drained.”
The Disney Plus drama is based on Laura Sobiech’s memoir “Fly a Little Higher: How God Answered a Mom’s Small Prayer in a Big Way,” about her son Zach’s battle with bone cancer. Before Zach’s death at 18, a video of him performing his song “Clouds” went viral. “We had a director’s chair with Zach’s name on it,” says Campbell, who plays Laura. “It was always on set.”
Did you know about Zach’s story before signing on for the movie?
I didn’t. I was sent the script, and when I read it, it moved me so much. I was like, who is this kid?...

It’s been a fun month to be a Disney Plus subscriber so far, and today’s content drop aims to keep that trend alive. We’re being treated to the addition of a new original movie, the premiere episode of an original show and plenty more that should keep you busy over the weekend – especially if you’re a fan of nature.
Indeed, today’s additions include a handful of nature documentaries, but the new Disney Plus Original Meet the Chimps is perhaps the most exciting piece of content in the haul. The premiere episode will introduce viewers to Chimp Haven, an incredibly large and interesting wildlife sanctuary in Louisiana that houses over 300 chimpanzees. The series follows this diverse group of chimps through the good and bad of their daily lives, while also touching on the staff that works diligently to keep them safe and happy.

What started out pre-Covid-19 as a Warner Bros. theatrical teen inspirational drama, “Clouds,” became an early-acquisition feature film for Disney Plus, which begins streaming the movie on Oct. 16.
“Clouds” is based on the memoir of Laura Sobiech, whose son, Zach Sobiech, had a viral YouTube hit in late 2012 with “Clouds,” an easygoing, uplifting pop song that touched on the heavy themes of Zach’s mortality. Zach, 17, wrote and performed the song amid his battle with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, which took his life in May 2013.
“Clouds” director Justin Baldoni co-financed “Clouds” with Warner Bros. under Baldoni’s production banner, Wayfarer Studios. When the film sat dormant earlier this year with theaters indefinitely closed or in flux, Baldoni says he bought the film’s portion owned by Warner Bros. and took “Clouds” to Disney, which bought distribution rights for Disney Plus.
“It was important to me, also as a studio owner and producer,...

The inspirational story of Zach Sobiech and the hit song the 17-year-old musician wrote after being confronted with his terminal osteosarcoma diagnosis in 2012 (and taking a last-ditch family trip to Lourdes), this true-life tear-jerker seems poised to become the latest addition to the growing sub-genre of “behind the music” biopics about Christians who deal with cancer by recording chart-toppers about their love for God.
But it only takes a few minutes to realize that “Clouds” isn’t just another honeyed and ham-fisted piece of evangelical propaganda — even if the likes of “I Can Only Imagine” and “I Still Believe” made canny bids for mainstream success by hiding their full religiosity until the very end. If Baldoni’s sometimes moving and often graceful Disney+ debut can be described as “faith-based” — a big “if” for a filmmaker whose directing work has always evinced a single-minded yet decidedly secular interest in the lessons...

"So, what is it I plan to do with my one wild, and precious, life? It's really simple, actually..." He becomes a songwriter and uploads videos to YouTube, becoming famous for his music. Starring Fin Argus as Zach, with Madison Iseman, Sabrina Carpenter, Neve Campbell, Tom Everett Scott, Lil Rel Howery, and Dylan Everett. This is the epitome of a modern day Disney movie - it has a sweet high school romance, an inspirational story about music, and every other live-your-life trope. Here's the second official...
