Claire Foy and Richard E. Grant are set to lead a new period drama directed by Peter Glanz.
Titled “Savage House,” the eighteenth century black comedy also stars Bel Powley (“A Small Light”) and Jack Farthing (“The Lost Daughter”).
Kila Lord Cassidy (“The Wonder”), Richard McCabe (“Napoleon”), Vicki Pepperdine (“Poor Things”) and Pip Torrens (“The Iron Lady”) round out the cast. The film recently wrapped in the U.K.
“Set against the backdrop of eighteenth century England, a massive pox outbreak, and Jacobite uprising – this is a timely and darkly satirical story of Sir Chauncey Savage (Grant) and Lady Savage (Foy) and their blind pursuit of a better life,” reads the logline. “It is not without a tinge of irony that their family name is the Savages, for this is a Savage House indeed. Filled with duels, decadence, and bloodshed, this is a madcap play on class and power.”

Another remake of classic – make that two classics – is headed to Netflix, as the streaming giant has just released the teaser for The Wages of Fear, first made in 1953 and later most notably remade by William Friedkin with 1977’s Sorcerer.
In the trailer, we see an explosion and the chaos of the aftermath, with a voice saying, “There is a gas pocket feeding the flames. To put it out, we need to blow it up.” This sets up the plot of The Wages of Fear, which finds a team driving to the location in trucks filled with nitro…and they’re on a timeline of just 24 hours.
Helmed by action director Julien Leclercq, The Wages of Fear looks to bring a lot more of his trademark action to the screen than its predecessors. Henri-Georges Clouzot’s original The Wages of Fear (Le Salaire de la peur) is, as far as I’m concerned,...

The Savages director said he made the remarks “before the film even came out” and while he was promoting his documentary Nuclear Now.
Oliver Stone was clearing up his Barbie comments from last year after an interview with the filmmaker resurfaced recently. Deadline took a deserved shot from him also. Click below to see the whole statement by the multi-Oscar winner:

“At the time, I was busy promoting my nuclear documentary in Europe and had little to no knowledge of the project beyond its title,” he said in a post he shared on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. His comments resurfaced virally but he made it clear that he said them before he watched Barbie in theaters last July. That is too long a time span to be served back up as fresh aggregation.

Injustice is always bad but worsens when prejudice comes into the mix.
Two young men were arrested in connection with the murder of Brooks on Perry Mason Season 2 Episode 2, and the circumstances surrounding the arrests couldn't be vaguer. This triggered Perry and Della to take their case when they realized the victims and their families were helpless without them.
Perry, who had been struggling with the direction his law firm had taken with their case choices, came alive at the prospect of ensuring someone was not abused by the law and jailed or murdered for a crime they didn't commit.
After the Dodson trial, Perry vowed not to take on criminal cases because they are emotionally taxing, and the victory from the Dodson case became useless a few months later.
But how could he not take this on in the face of such injustice?
This case is not easy, and...

Savages mesmerized with the bone-chilling, dynamic "Adore" – the centerpiece of the post-punk band's second LP, Adore Life – Tuesday on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The performance found singer Jehnny Beth crooning her sparse lines over Gemma Thompson's icy guitar texture and the droning rhythm section of bassist Ayse Hassan and drummer Fay Milton. "Is it human to adore life?" Beth asked, her question growing in angst and volume at each repetition, jumping an octave at the abrasive climax.
Savages spoke to Rolling Stone in January about the themes of the acclaimed Adore Life.
