Walt Willey is reprising his All My Children character Jackson Montgomery in a brand new setting, as he is heading to Port Charles next month to join the cast of General Hospital. As first reported by Soap Opera Digest, Willey will have a brief stint on the long-running daytime drama as Jackson, the character he portrayed on All My Children from 1987 until the series finale in 2011. Exact details regarding Willey’s role in the series remain under wraps for now, but it’s believed Jackson will be providing legal expertise to another character. Willey confirmed the news of his casting on Facebook, writing, “Been sitting on this one for a while but now I’ve been given the clearance to announce that ‘Jackson Montgomery’ is visiting Port Charles! Well, this is a pleasant surprise.
Walt Willey is returning to daytime TV and reprising one of his most beloved roles.
Soap Opera Digest reports that the All My Children alum has closed a deal to star on General Hospital.
And get this:
Willey will be playing Jackson Montgomery!
Cool, right?
It's always nice when a character we thought was long gone gets to stage a comeback long after the series has ended.
Willey joined the cast of All My Children in 1987 and stayed put until the 2011 series finale on ABC.
This is not the first time Willey has played Jackson in another series.
He appeared in The City in 1996, so this will be the third series the actor has played the same role.
Plot details are being kept under wraps about what brings Jackson to Port Charles, but it will be interesting to find out what happened to him...

Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman made for an iconic hero-villain pairing in last year’s superhero blockbuster “Black Panther,” but their careers have been intertwined since 2003. Following his breakout role on the first season of “The Wire,” a 16-year-old Jordan joined the cast of the ABC soap opera “All My Children” in the role of Reggie Porter. Jordan took over the role from Boseman, who played Porter for just one week. The casting swap is hardly breaking news, but the reason why it happened was finally revealed by Boseman during a joint interview with Jordan for the latest edition of The Wrap’s awards season magazine.
“It’s one of those things where you get a role, and you don’t really know,” Boseman said. “When I got it, I was like, ‘This is not part of my manifesto. This is not part of what I want to do.

Michael B. Jordan is currently being embraced as the star of “Black Panther” and the “Creed” franchise, but he’s been in the business for 20 years — the last five of which have catapulted the 31-year-old actor to a previously unknown level of stardom. And now that he has it, he intends to exploit that power to the best of his abilities.
“It’s fucking insane, bro,” he said. “All my friends and family are like, ‘Mike, you gotta let your mind catch up to where you are.'”
Where is he? Apparently, everywhere. He’s at the end of an extraordinary year that will see him Oscar campaigning for “Black Panther” — the Marvel movie with a nearly all-black cast that has a real shot at multiple nominations, including Best Picture (and may even be the frontrunner). “Creed II,” which he executive produced, further minted Jordan as an A-list lead, and has already earned $100 million worldwide.
