“I was very nervous,” O’Malley told EW of bringing the story to TV. “I didn’t know we would get anyone, or especially everyone. We just started asking, and Edgar asked, and I wrote a really nice letter, and everyone just very very kindly and very promptly said yes.”

Mike Flanagan is back with his latest Netflix horror series. Sure, his last foray into Netflix horror, “The Midnight Club,” wasn’t the best, but this is still the filmmaker behind “The Haunting of Hill House,” so we’ll cut him some slack. Plus, there’s no denying “The Fall of the House of Usher” looks like a fun time.

[Editor’s note: This article contains spoilers for “The Afterparty” Season 2, including the finale.]
If you paid attention to Season 1 of “The Afterparty,” the answer was obvious.
The high school reunion murder of Xavier (Dave Franco) at the hands of a classmate introduced viewers to Christopher Miller’s multigenre Apple TV+ series, in which each suspect recounts the night’s events as they experienced it. The murderer turned out to be the one with the most outlandish, exaggerated, and discrepant story of the bunch: Yasper (Ben Schwartz), who viewed the night as a wish-fulfilling musical.
Yasper was motivated by jealousy and revenge, the same emotions shared by Xavier’s other classmates but in comparatively low doses and without the means and opportunity. In Season 2 there’s a helluva lot of truly murderous motive; the unfaithful wife, the financially doomed father-in-law, the jealous sister, the gaslit mother, the disgraced business partner. After nine episodes, there was no obvious liar...

“The Afterparty” has placed all sorts of lenses on its murder mystery wedding romp in Season 2: the generic conventions of rom-com and film noir, specific directorial styles like Alfred Hitchcock’s and Wes Anderson’s, and even whole modes of filmmaking as in Feng’s (Ken Jeong) found-footage episode peppered with vertical iPhone videos ready for TikTok.
The sheer number of different visual styles the show needs is a challenge, but so is creating a “normal” look for the present-day interrogation scenes with Danner (Tiffany Haddish), Aniq (Sam Richardson), and Zoë (Zoe Chao). Working out the feeling of that grounding “home base” look was as challenging as crafting the show’s most extreme visual styles, and in both cases required cinematographer Ross Riege to do a lot of calibrating in order to get it right — and then keep it straight.

As we are in episode 9 of The Afterparty, we’ve been hit with a curve ball. While this plot twist was expected, the way it was presented was unexpected. Elizabeth Perkins’ Isabel is quirky and straightforward, a trait that is entertaining in this genre of show, and so her episode is one of the best of the season. This season of The Afterparty is far less experimental than the first season, which is a shame because the musical and animated episodes were some of the best of the show. Feng’s Tik-Tok-ified story leads Danner to Isabel, but wouldn’t it be too easy of an answer? We can only find out in the last episode of The Afterparty, but until then, let’s go through Isabel’s night.

Max Causey (Jared Korotkin) would probably be on the Naughty List if he hadn’t accidentally killed the man who writes it one fateful Christmas Eve when he was just six years old. Flash forward 12 years and Max still feels guilty about his trap that sent Santa to an early grave along with the world’s Christmas spirit. But although Max buried Santa’s body all those years ago, he kept Saint Nick’s brain fresh in a jar, and thanks to a groundbreaking electrocution experiment he’s been working on with his brilliant friend, Paige Byers (Ophelia Rivera), as well as the body parts he’s been stealing from the local morgue, Max sees an opportunity to finally bury his own guilt and bring Santa back from the dead. The only problem? Once resurrected, this new version of Santa, aka “Santastein,” has something much worse than coal in store...

Harry Bosch is returning to Amazon Freevee on Oct. 20 – and he’s taking matters into his own hands to save his daughter in a new teaser for “Bosch: Legacy” Season 2.
The drama series’ second season finds Bosch (Titus Welliver) working alongside Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers) to track down a masked assailant who kidnapped his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) before time runs out. But as the FBI scrutinizes Carl Rogers’ murder, Bosch and Chandler are placed under suspicion.
In the clip, Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector) tells Bosch that he needs to let authorities do their job to find his daughter, to which he replies: “Don’t cut me out!.” He also makes clear that while the FBI has to do things the “right way,” those rules don’t apply to him.
In addition to Edgar, Season 2 will see the return of Detective Robert “Crate” Moore (Gregory Scott Cummins), and Detective...

The Afterparty ends in 2 more weeks, and episode 8 “takes the cake” for giving the most clues this season. Still, we’re far from solving the mystery; of course, the killer will be revealed in the finale. Sebastian is completely missing from this episode, raising more suspicions against him. Zoe and Grace are in for some news, and it’s finally time to accept certain things that people have been hiding for a long time. Danner seems to find her own leads, and Aniq is too busy trying to figure out how to deal with everything Ulysses has told him. Let’s quickly dive into Feng’s Tiktok star’s point of view.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In The Episode?
Episode 8 of The Afterparty Season 2 begins with Zoe trying to connect with Kyler, the camera guy at the wedding. Kyler is a local TikTok star, and Feng had him on board...

13 years after the film’s theatrical release, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” remains one of the defining roles of Michael Cera’s film career. And the actor’s enthusiasm for his role in the Edgar Wright film hasn’t diminished in the slightest.
In a new interview with GQ, Cera took a trip down memory lane and revisited some of his most iconic roles. When the conversation inevitably turned to “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” Cera spoke fondly about working with Wright and his all-star supporting cast on the adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s hit graphic novel series.
“We just had the greatest vibe with everybody,” Cera said. “I think that trickled down from Edgar and the energy that he was creating. We all got to rehearse together and spend a lot of time together before we even started making the movie.”
