When Friday Night Vibes returns to TBS on January 5, it will have two new hosts. Emmy-nominated entertainment journalist Nina Parker and comedian Kevin Fredericks will front the monthly chat and movie fest, taking over from Deon Cole and Tiffany Haddish who hosted when Vibes launched in 2021. Airing the first Friday of the month, the movie watch party features conversation, special guests, and engaging games It is filmed at “The Gathering Spot in the Wes Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles. Kicking off the revival is a double-feature of Oscar winners in Black Panther and King Richard. TBS has set the premiere date for its “Friday Night Vibes” revival for Jan. 5 at 8:00pm Et/Pt.
With new hosts Nina Parker and Kevin Fredericks (Tiffany Haddish previously hosted the series with fellow comedian Deon Cole), the weekend movie programming will kick off with a double-feature selection starting with “Black Panther” starring Chadwick Boseman, and followed by “King Richard” starring Will Smith.
Filmed at “The Gathering Spot” in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood, film fans can join Parker and Fredericks in the audience each week where they’ll be joined by surprise guests and conversations “about film, culture and everything in between,” says TBS. Hudson won for hosting her eponymous daytime talk show, while the Noah-hosted Daily Show won best variety or game show series or special and Davis, just a little over two weeks after achieving Egot status with her Grammy win, took home the award for best literary work, non-fiction for Finding Me.
