The Big Brother 25 season was slow and familiar.
Increasing the season to 100 days was a way for CBS to deal with the Hollywood strikes, but it also caused the season to drag for some fans.
Meanwhile, Peacock debuted The Traitors to huge fanfare, showing how reality competition shows could be fresh and fun again.
The Traitors 2 recently ended and was even more successful than the first season, leading to increased ratings and much buzz on social media.
The Traitors has also shown how to put together an intriguing cast of people returning to reality TV if Big Brother producers decide to try another All-Stars season.
Big Brother: Reindeer Games also had noteworthy success. The spin-off helped bridge the gap between summer seasons and was very entertaining. It set a new model for the franchise.

A notable showmance was featured on the Summer 2017 season of Big Brother.
Jessica Graf, a VIP concierge from Los Angeles, and Cody Nickson, a construction sales representative from Texas, hit it off quickly.
There was romance in the air that season, as three relationships developed as alliances formed within the cast.
In addition to Jessica and Cody, Elena Davis and Mark Jansen also developed a relationship in the house.
They weren’t the only ones, as Raven Walton and Matt Clines also got close. This was also the summer where Paul Abrahamian from Big Brother 18 returned.
Would any of those relationships last once the cast stepped off the stage on finale night? Only one.

Dan Gheesling was eliminated on the latest episode of The Traitors 2.
Several players clocked the Big Brother 10 winner early in the season. They then voted him out at the Roundtable on Episode 6.
It was the second straight week that a Big Brother alum was Banished, as Janelle Pierzina was eliminated previously.
This means no Big Brother people are left for when the castle guests come across Dr. Will Kirby during an upcoming episode.
Now that Dan is out of the game, he can speak freely about his time in Scotland. He also has some ideas for future seasons.
One idea Dan has shared is who he thinks should make the jump from Big Brother to The Traitors next.
Who from Big Brother should be on The Traitors 3?
Having played Big Brother twice and now being experienced on The Traitors, Dan was the perfect person to ask about fellow alums who should go to Scotland.

The Traitors 2 still hasn’t addressed the abrupt exit by Deontay Wilder.
Deontay was among the 22 celebrities invited to appear on a new Traitors season.
When Deontay left the castle, the producers re-introduced Kate Chastain from Below Deck.
Kate was on the first season of The Traitors, where she routinely accused Faithfuls of being Traitors.
Bringing back Kate to help create new drama already worked in her first two episodes, as she went after Janelle Pierzina, Dan Gheesling, and Parvati Shallow.
But back to Doentay, who had difficulties getting comfortable in the Scottish castle.
Why did Deontay Wilder leave The Traitors 2?
Early in Episode 4, host Alan Cumming explained to the viewing audience that Doentay had left the castle. Alan didn’t elaborate, possibly providing Deontay with some privacy.
The lack of information led to many Traitors fans wondering what happened to Deontay and why he was no longer competing.

Ho, ho, holy comeback. Nicole Franzel pulled off not one but two comebacks on Thursday’s “Big Brother Reindeer Games” to become the holiday spin-off’s inaugural champ — and save Christmas, of course. The “Big Brother 18” winner took down Season 23 champ Xavier Prather in the semifinal despite have a 30-second delayed start and then defeated Season 24 winner Taylor Hale in the final after being well behind in the first two of three rounds. But the final round, during which they had to stack 32 snowflakes, leveled the playing field.
“Mentally, for me, it’s easier to be like, ‘Ok, nothing lost if you don’t get this, they have an advantage, they’re kicking your butt. Just chill.’ I think her being so ahead of me is what helped me with the antlers because I was like, ‘I got nothing to lose at this point. I don’t even know if...

Big Brother Reindeer Games, the surprise hit of the holiday season, came to a close on Thursday night (December 21) as the Christmas-themed spinoff crowned its first winner. The two-week special kicked off on CBS on December 11 and saw nine former Big Brother houseguests enter “Santa’s Lodge” where they battled it out in a series of holiday-themed competitions in an effort to “save Christmas.” Those nine returning players were Xavier Prather, Taylor Hale, Nicole Franzel, Frankie Grande, Cameron Hardin, Cody Calafiore, Danielle Reyes, Josh Martinez, and Britney Haynes. The show was hosted by fellow Big Brother alumni Derek Xiao, Tiffany Mitchell, and Jordan Lloyd. Thursday’s finale came down to a face-off between Season 24 winner Hale and Season 18 winner Franzel. The pair had to scale a pile of foam pieces, navigate a maze, and build a tower out of snowflakes, and it was that last part that proved the trickiest.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details on who won the competition.
CBS’s Big Brother Reindeer Games, a six-episode spinoff of the reality series featuring holiday-themed competitions, held its grand finale tonight.
The two-week show, which launched Dec. 11, kicked off with nine Big Brother veterans vying to make the final four. The show was hosted by former Big Brother HouseGuests Derek Xiao, Tiffany Mitchell, and Jordan Lloyd. The objective: save Christmas.
As might be expected from the title, the Christmas theme was everywhere. The house was named Santa’s Lodge, and its entryway was decorated with flying reindeer and gold-wrapped presents. The living room has a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and wreaths, and the kitchen, aka “Mrs. Claus Bakery,” was adorned with gingerbread men.
The battle threw aside season’s greetings and became fierce. In the end, Nicole Franzel was the winner over former Miss Michigan Taylor Hale, copping the show’s $100,000 grand prize.

Not to be hyperbolic, but “Big Brother Reindeer Games” has delivered some of the best and most exciting comps and comp results in franchise history in just three episodes so far. In the second episode, Cody Calafiore, as the Naughty and Nice challenge winner, got to pick his teammates for the Jingle Bell Brawl and assembled a comp beast dream team of his Season 16 cohorts Frankie Grande and Nicole Franzel, in addition to Xavier Prather, leaving Danielle Reyes, Josh Martinez, Britney Haynes and Taylor Hale on Team Underdogs.

Big Brother has been on the air for over 23 years, delivering wild twists, quests for power, and drama.
This year's entry -- Big Brother 25 -- was the show's longest to date, clocking in at 100 days- long, resulting in one of the biggest duds in its history.
If you were in the market for twists that went nowhere, the game being randomly paused for a week thanks to a twist, and evictions not sticking, it was the season you've always been waiting for.
As a fan since the beginning, I want to forget about Big Brother Season 25 because it went on too long and didn't have the excitement of prior seasons due to the terrible pace.
While there were rumors that CBS could be prepping a Legends season for the winter as the network struggles with a lack of shows due to the strikes, we're getting something different.

It’s not nine lords a leaping but nine alums competing again in the “Big Brother” house. “Big Brother Reindeer Games” unveiled its full cast on Thursday and it’s probably who you might’ve expected.
The cast features five “Big Brother” champs — Cody Calafiore, Nicole Franzel, Taylor Hale, Josh Martinez and Xavier Prather — in addition to Season 12 America’s Favorite Player Britney Haynes and reigning Season 25 Afp Cameron Hardin. Rounding out the cast are “Bb” legends Frankie Grande and Danielle Reyes.
The inclusion of Britney, Frankie and Danielle isn’t too surprising since they were the ones who activated the multiverse on Season 25 with the Time Laser and unleashed “Reindeer Games” when they attempted to fix it on the finale last month.

For nine long years, Derrick Levasseur held the “Big Brother” record for lasting the most days in the house without ever being nominated for eviction. The Rhode Island police sergeant ended Season 16 on Day 97 as the ultimate winner, having never set foot on the block. Now, his record has been beaten by an unlikely houseguest from Season 25: Bowie Jane.
This Australian DJ didn’t know much about the game of “Big Brother” before being cast in the longest-ever season in the summer of 2023. However, after winning the most recent Head of Household competition on the November 2 episode, Bowie is now guaranteed to make it to the final day in the house, Day 100, without ever touching the block.
Bowie’s success is due in part to no one ever truly seeing her as a threat, in part to winning three (so far) Hoh comps, and in part to lucking into...

Former NFL cheerleader Natalie Negrotti rose to fame on Big Brother Season 18 in 2016, where she nearly won America’s Favorite Houseguest. She went on to compete in MTV’s The Challenge for three seasons, placing in the finals once, and briefly appeared on a YouTube dating show before seemingly stepping away from reality TV. Where is Natalie now?
Where is Natalie Negrotti from ‘Big Brother’ now?
Big Brother alum and The Challenge finalist Natalie Negrotti most recently competed in 2019’s War of the Worlds before seemingly leaving the long-running MTV franchise.
Since her exit, the reality personality continued hanging out with several cast members and has since publicly come out as pansexual. She also remains active in The Challenge community by promoting Paramount+ hosted spinoff, All Stars.

Big Brother fans might not be ready to see any returning players after the All-Stars fiasco in season 22, but some former houseguests desperately want to jump back into the game. In particular, one Big Brother 16 contestant recently revealed in a 2023 interview that they want to return to the house.
Frankie Grande and Derrick Levasseur | Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS via Getty Images Frankie Grande was a houseguest in ‘Big Brother 16’
From the jump, Big Brother fans were confident that Derrick Levasseur would win season 16. His status as an undercover cop, hiding his profession, and how easily he manipulated his fellow houseguests made him an early frontrunner. For this reason alone, some viewers didn’t enjoy season 16 because of its predictability. But we must admit that a handful of other players made it entertaining.
Frankie Grande, the brother of singer Ariana Grande, was a superfan of Big Brother, and it was his dream to play.

Nicole Franzel is one of the most polarizing Big Brother players (and winners) of all time. Big Brother fans either love or hate her — there is no in-between. But after her appearance on the controversial second iteration of All-Stars in 2020, what has Nicole been up to?

CBS introduced viewers to Nicole Franzel in Big Brother 16, where she became a fan-favorite due to her innocent nature and endearing Michigander accent. Big Brother Canada has announced its plans to replace live feeds with an edited daily segment, upsetting fans. However, the US version probably won’t follow suit.
‘Big Brother Canada’ removes Live Feeds
Big Brother Canada shocked the Bb community when it announced its plans to replace the 24/7 live feeds with Digital Dailies, beginning in the upcoming season 11. The Dailies will consist of “uncut content from inside the Bbcan house” and will be released weekly throughout the season.
As it’s only a selected portion of the content caught on camera, many fans are concerned that producers will remove anything that doesn’t paint their houseguests in a good light to reduce controversy.

In one of the most improbable runs in “Big Brother” and reality TV history, Taylor Hale won “Big Brother 24” on Sunday, nearly three months after she was ostracized and targeted by the house in the very first week of the game. She also won America’s Favorite Houseguest, the first game winner to take home the 50,000 prize.
Entering the finale, Taylor was dejected after losing the first two parts of the final Hoh to Matthew Turner and Monte Taylor, respectively, meaning she would have to rely on one of them to bring her to the final two. Ezno Palumbo just didn’t want to finish in third place again on “Big Brother,” yo. But the Season 12 alum couldn’t control his own fate in the final three after losing the first two parts of the final Hoh, and he knew his only shot at making the final two is if his ride or die Cody Calafiore took him over former champ Nicole Franzel.
Despite some roller-coaster rants, Enzo always felt in his gut that Cody would honor their final two deal, and that he did. And as Enzo also knew, Cody “destroyed” him in the vote, winning 9-0. But Enzo, who took home $50,000 for second place, believes he deserved a vote or two for his killer social game. Cody Calafiore was not going to make the same mistake twice. In Season 16 of “Big Brother,” he took his ride or die Derrick Levasseur to the final two and lost decisively. He found himself in the same position in Season 22 of picking his final two companion, but this time chose strategically, selecting Enzo Palumbo over Season 18 champ and his Season 16 castmate Nicole Franzel.

“Floaters, you better grab a life vest!” This iconic quote came courtesy of “Big Brother” legend Rachel Reilly after she won Head of Household in Season 12 and blasted her fellow houseguests for watching the game from the sidelines rather than making big moves. Rachel was evicted a week later, but her battle cry remains one of the most memorable moments in “Bb” history. The competitive cocktail waitress returned in Season 13 and took home the grand prize after racking up four Hoh wins and claiming the Power of Veto twice.
While many players relied on their social games or perceived weaknesses to float under the radar in the “Bb” house, others took matters into their own hands by winning the coveted Hoh and Power of Veto contests. Who will come out on top in the 22nd season of the Big Brother TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Big Brother is cancelled or renewed for season 23. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. In the end, “Big Brother 22” did live up to its motto even in its most predictable season ever. Sure, Cody Calafiore won the $500,000 on Wednesday’s live finale as we all thought he would, but everyone and their mother expected him to take Nicole Franzel to the final two (including probably Cody’s and Nicole’s since their moms are friends Irl). Instead, he did the unexpected and actually brought Enzo Palumbo, whom he crushed 9-0. That was always the better play for him, and in hindsight, we should’ve realized he would do it.
Cody seriously lucked out in that he ended up with two people with whom he had final twos and who both were willing to take him, the most dominant player of the season, to the final two. But unlike Nicole and Enzo, who frequently let us know their feelings and frustrations on the live feeds when they were alone,...

Janelle Pierzina has not been a fan of Nicole Franzel all season long.
The two women failed to make much of a bond during the recent All-Stars season, with Franzel playing a big role in getting Pierzina out of the house early in the process.
Nicole was closely aligned with Cody Calafiore, and many figured the former winner would make it to the Final 2 as a result.
Instead, Cody clipped Nicole at Final 3 and went on to win the entire season, while Nicole was forced to settle for no prizes during the finale.
Pierzina has been vocal about Nicole on Twitter over the course of the season since exiting the house.
It makes sense then that she would take to Twitter on finale night to throw in her two cents about everything that happened.
"Final thoughts," Janelle tweeted.
“#1 Congrats to Cody for winning #Bb22," she said of the winner, adding of the runner-up:
"#2 Poor Enzo.

You gotta hand it to CBS: It delivered one of the most engrossing Big Brother finales in recent memory. After 85 days of competition, plenty of Covid-19 tests, and all the times Julie Chen promised to "expect the unexpected," season 22 of Big Brother: All Stars came to a close on Tuesday, Oct. 28 as the jury voted to crown the winner of that coveted $500,000 prize. During the two-hour finale, top-three contestants Cody Calafiore, Enzo Palumbo and Nicole Franzel participated in two live Hoh (Head of Household) competitions that secured their fate in the game. So what went down? Since Nicole had won the first leg of Hoh comps in the penultimate episode, the second faceoff was between Enzo and Cody, which...

“Don’t make me ugly cry!” Da’Vonne Rogers told “Big Brother” host Julie Chen Moonves after being named the winner of America’s Favorite Houseguest during the Season 22 finale. “Bb” fans cast nearly one million votes over the past week, with Da’Vonne and Tyler Crispen being their two most-loved players. Tyler had already won this coveted prize — and the $25,000 check that comes along with it — two summers ago, but this was Da’Vonne’s first victory.
