Orange Studio has signed a two-year distribution deal with the aggregation company Under The Milky Way. The pact will allow the outfit to handle the distribution of titles from Orange Studio’s library across English-speaking territories as well as Latin America on transactional VOD services such as Amazon, PlutoTV, Roku and Tubi.
The first films which are part of the deal are Philipe Lacheau’s “City Hunter,” Olivier Nakache et Eric Toledano’s “Tellement Proches,” Riad Sattouf’s “Beaux gosses,” Bertrand Tavernier’s “Death Watch” (pictured), and Bertrand Blier’s “Going Places.”

Berlin — Brazilian TV giant Globo and international digital film distributor Under the Milky Way have announced a distribution deal for seven new feature films from Globo Filmes, allowing the titles access via Umw to major platforms in 70 territories.
The deal covers more than ten major on demand” platforms – including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Xbox – in seventy English and Spanish-speaking countries for which Under the Milky Way acts as a one-stop shop solution for catalog and programming.
Announced Tuesday at Berlinale’s Drama Series Days, the deal takes “Tungsten” the award-winning drama by Heitor Dhalia, based on the award-winning graphic novel of the same title, by Marcello Quintanilha, a slice of life drama set in Salvador where characters’ lives intersect fatefully.
Also making the cut: Andrucha Waddington’s ER social -issue thriller “Under Pressure,” which inspired the smash hit TV series, plus “Alone Man,” “The Eternal Son,” “Tim Maia,” “The Moving Forest” and “Good Luck.

Under the Milky Way, a leading digital film distribution company, has appointed Juliana Moreira de Souza to run its office in Brazil as its seeks to strengthen its presence in Latin America.
The company, which already boasts local offices across 10 countries in Europe, North America and Asia, previously did business in Latin America but never had a local office with an executive on the ground.
Based in Sao Paulo, Moreira de Souza will be in charge of developing business deals across Latin America through relationships with local rights holders and platforms. She will also handle the international distribution of films owned by Latin American rights holders.
Moreira de Souza graduated from Georgetown University and previously interned at Lionsgate, Protagonist Pictures and A24, where she gained insights into domestic and international sales and marketing.
