The Lord of the Rings is unarguably one of the most popular lores in the history of entertainment, massively loved and approved by both fans and critics. Based on the novel series of the same name, the $5.8 billion trilogy shouts one too many reasons for fans to love it, from its breathtaking storylines brought to life to the tremendous portrayal of all the characters.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
But those aren’t the only reasons to love the widely successful franchise, for there is one even more commendable reason why the Lotr saga deserves all the love it can get: The fact that the infamous former film producer Harvey Weinstein actually demanded a big, fat paycheck for the live-action lore, but the franchise bluntly refused to pay him the same!

Harvey Weinstein was been found guilty of rape in a Los Angeles Court on Monday. The case followed his conviction in New York in 2020, where he received a sentence of 23 years. Under Californian law, the 70-year-old former producer could receive a life sentence.
Weinstein initially faced 11 separate charges in the Los Angeles case, but prosecutors revealed in early November that they were unable to proceed with four of those. The Miramax mogul's lawyers argued that two of the incidents to which charges referred were complete fabrications and that the others had been consensual, with the women motivated by the potential to advance their careers. The jury found him guilty on one count of rape and on two additional sexual assault charges, but found him not guilty of raping another woman and were unable to reach verdicts where two further complainants were concerned.
The five week trial saw.

Photo: Kanye West/David Shankbone Kanye West is most certainly a polarizing public figure. From his unapologetic support of President Trump to his decision to run for president in 2020, he has constantly been in the news recently. A couple of weeks ago, he was a guest on the biggest podcast in the world, the Joe Rogan Experience. Over the course of three hours, Joe Rogan and Kanye talked about issues ranging from the rationale behind West’s presidential campaign to his thoughts on the music industry. I may not have agreed with everything Kanye was saying, but I have to admit that it was a thorough discussion. My favorite point that Rogan made during the discussion was when he discussed Kanye’s thought process. To paraphrase, he said “You (Kanye) have a different power source. Most of us have 20 watt-voltage, you have about 500 watts.” While he clearly meant it as a figure of speech,...

The jury in the Harvey Weinstein case today approached the sittng judge, James Burke, asking for permission to reach a partial verdict after becoming deadlocked on two counts of predatory sexual assault, it has emerged. The judge ordered them to return to deliberate further and try to reach a unanimous verdict after Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi, prosecuting, said that this would not be acceptable to her team. Defence attorney Damon Cheronis, acting for Weinstein, said that in any event he would need to discuss the matter with his client.
The Hollywood producer has been charged with five counts of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct involving two complainants. Crucially, the charge of predatory sexual assault cannot be applied in this case unless the jury agrees that Weinstein is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of assaulting both women or accepts that he also assaulted actress Annabella.

In super cool news, Tom Morello, one of the greatest guitar players of all time, of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave fame, sent out a tweet that made him even just a little bit cooler.
We already knew he was a bit of a fellow geek, as he has professed his love of Star Trek, and has made appearances on Star Trek: Voyager, as well as Star Trek: Insurrection. Now we know he is also a major D&D fan.
And to top it all off, he has made himself available to the neighborhood kids to play as their Dungeon Master and guide them through their formative D&D years. I think this is a lot of fun. He must be the cool dad who all the kids love to hang out with.
I’ve never played D&D, but I’d totally play if...

"This is a complete lie, fabrication, no truth to it whatsoever," Michael Douglas told Deadline yesterday in a pre-emptive interview, seeking to dismiss claims that he masturbated in front of a former employee. He stressed "I don’t have skeletons in my closet," and said that he was struggling to understand why the allegation was being made over 30 years after the incident is said to have occurred.
Alongside the claim about masturbation, Douglas has been accused of using 'colourful language' in front of, but not too, the woman, and of speaking 'in a dirty way' with friends when she was present. He acknowledged that this may well have happened and apologised for it. Asserting that he fired her for reasons related to her work, he denied a further claim that he then blackballed her, making it hard for her to get another job in the industry.
