It’s the moment many “America’s Got Talent” acts have been waiting for: the roast of Simon Cowell.
On Wednesday night’s finale, Mike E. Winfield hosted the special performance, bringing out Don McMillan, Mr. Pants, Lace Larrabee and the roast master himself, Jeff Ross, to all take a swipe at Cowell.
McMillan was criticized by Cowell during his audition for using a PowerPoint presentation. So, in an act of defiance, McMillan once more did a PowerPoint presentation — much to Cowell’s dismay — of the media mogul’s likes and dislikes.
Number 1 on the dislikes was, unsurprisingly, PowerPoints; others included shaving, clowns and parmesan cheese.
He also poked fun at Cowell’s recent bike accidents, adding: “Too soon?”

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for America’s Got Talent Season 17 Episode 17, “Semi Finals 1 Results.”] Two more acts have been chosen to join Avery Dixon, Chapel Hart, Drake Milligan, Nicolas Ribs, Sara James, and Yu Hojin in the America’s Got Talent Season 17 finale following the August 31 live results show on NBC, but it might not be who fans expected. A shocking elimination was delivered last night in an episode that proved the competition is getting fierce. Acapop!, Bayley Graham, Harper, Jack Williams, Jannick Hoste, The Lazy Generation, Lee Collinson, Lily Meola, Merissa Beddows, Metaphysic, and Mike E. Winfield took to the AGT stage on Tuesday, August 30 for their last chance to impress the live crowd and voters at home. Winfield especially impressed judge Howie Mandel with his standup set. Last week, Gold Derby conducted a poll asking “America’s Got Talent” viewers to let us know what they thought of the new format change, in which more contestants than ever are being eliminated each week. The fans did not hold back. A whopping 60 voted in our poll results that they disliked the new rule because “we are losing way too many talented acts.” To compare, 35 approved of the change because “it forces each act to bring their A-game.” The remaining 5 were non-committal and had to “think about it more.”
In the past, “America’s Got Talent” would produce three separate live show rounds: Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Grand Finale. Now, there are only two rounds: Qualifiers and Grand Finale. Because the middle round has been removed, that means there are massive cuts in each of the five Qualifiers. Of the 11 acts who perform each week, only two go on to the finale,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for America’s Got Talent Season 17 Episode 15, “Qualifiers 3 Results.”] Nine more acts reached the end of the road on America’s Got Talent Season 17 on August 24. Only two of the 11 total performances from the August 23 live shows could advance to join saxophonist Avery Dixon, country music trio Chapel Hart, rocker Drake Milligan, and magician Yu Hojin in the next round. And the majority of these performers from Season 17 Episode 3 were singers. Singer Amanda Mammana, ventriloquist Celia Muñoz, the trickster Cline Twins, TikTok dancer duo Funkanometry, comedian Hayden Kristal, uncle-niece singing duo JoJo and Bri, singer/instrumentalist Mia Morris, electric light dance group Mplusplus, magician Nicolas Ribs, singer Sara James, and kids pop group Xomg Pop! were all up for elimination. Before they learned their fate, the episode delivered appearances from Season 14 winner Kodi Lee, plus Teddy Swims and Neal Schon. Judged by Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel and...
