“Survivor” debuted on CBS as a summer program on May 31, 2000. Hosted by Jeff Probst since the very beginning, it is credited by many as starting the reality show craze that has been a major part of TV this century. After being on the air for two decades, 20 of the most iconic champions returned in Season 40’s “Winners at War” to compete in the first-ever all-winners season. Following a temporary delay due to Covid-19, the reality TV show continued with even more twists and turns, plus more diversity amongst its cast members. Tour our updated “Survivor” winners list above (or click here for direct access) that highlights everyone from Season 1’s Richard Hatch to the most recent.

The casts of “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” managed to squeak by the first two weeks of “The Challenge: USA” completely unscathed, but both shows lost contestants during the third episode, which aired Wednesday, July 20.
CBS’s grueling reality TV show said goodbye to teammates Tasha Fox (“Survivor”) and James Wallington (“The Amazing Race”) this week after they failed to complete their puzzle in time during the elimination challenge. It was a close race though, as competitor Domenick Abbate (“Survivor”) failed to plug his water hole and would have been disqualified if not for Cashay Proudfoot (“Love Island”) saving the day for that team by finishing her puzzle in record time.

For the 9.5 million viewers who tuned in and those who needed better hookups at CBS, here are nine moments — some sweet, some bittersweet — that you didn’t see on TV.

Fans of "Survivor" are in agreement: The Tribal Council that took place near the start of the "Survivor: Second Chance" season finale was one of the best of all time. Kimmi Kappenberg's ouster was monumental in that she at first received no votes, as Kelley Wentworth and Jeremy Collins both played hidden immunity idols that canceled them all out. Kimmi was eventually eliminated in a roundtable group discussion, as the revote ended in a deadlock. On the red carpet at Wednesday's finale, Kelley, Keith Nale and Kimmi discuss that Tribal Council and the show's legacy to Gold Derby. Even though they made it to the Final 3 of "Survivor: Second Chance," both Tasha Fox and Spencer Bledsoe knew they might be outmatched by eventual winner Jeremy Collins. "Jeremy has the perfect story," Tasha explains to Gold Derby on the red carpet at Wednesday's season finale. "He played with his wife, she got voted out, he gets the second chance, he's having a baby, it's for Val. It's like the perfect story." Watch our full interviews below. -Break- Jeremy Collins ('Survivor') reveals secrets to winning the $1 million prize (Video) Spencer agrees with Tasha, admitting, "Jeremy played a great game. I went into Tribal thinking I have a shot to win [but that] Jeremy has a great shot to win. Would it have shocked me if I had won? No. Did it shock me that Jeremy won? No. This guy played a great game. 'I have a son speech' or no 'have a son speech,...

Of the six "Survivor: Second Chance" castaways still in the running to win the $1 million prize on Wednesday night, our contest entrants thought that only three had a realistic shot to win: Jeremy Collins, Spencer Bledsoe and Kelley Wentworth. Which of these three frontrunners won Season 31 and who came up short at the final Tribal Council? -Break- Who will win 'Survivor: Second Chance'? See exclusive predictions According to exclusive Gold Derby odds that were derived from the predictions made by contest entrants like you, firefighter Jeremy had overwhelming 5/4 odds to win the game, which ended up being correct. Jeremy went to the Final 3 with Spencer and Tasha Fox and wound up receiving a record 10 votes to win at the live Tribal Council, compared to 0 votes for the other two. For the purposes of our prediction contest, that means Spencer and Tasha both tied for second and third place.

Everywhere I looked before the Survivor finale, the internet seemed to be of one opinion that Spencer Bledsoe was going to win Survivor: Cambodia. Our own prediction poll had Spencer winning being the most popular prediction by a sizable margin. Yet it was Jeremy Collins, not Spencer Bledsoe who won came in first in his Survivor second chance. While Jeremy might be a surprising winner to some, there really is no better winner for one of Survivor's best seasons yet.

Survivor: Second Chance season finale recap “Lie, Cheat and Steal,” Season 31, Episode 14 (original airdate Dec. 16): It was the most unpredictable finale in Survivor history, one where you’d be Ok with a couple of the finalists walking away with the million (as long as it wasn’t Abi). The episode starts with Tasha, Jeremy, Keith, Spencer, Wentworth and Kimmi vying for a spot in the final three. It’s been an amazing season filled with the best mix of talent, class and unusual drama (Terry’s emergency exit, Joe collapsing and Abi just being Abi). There are no easy seasons of Survivor. From the harsh conditions to the big personalities, the experience is simultaneously exhilarating and miserable for the contestants. But this season took it to the next level. All 20 contestants had played the game before, but none had won. The result: a hungry cast who was willing to make big moves and stab each other in the face to win the million dollars. There was strategy and double dealing, and it was delicious to watch. And there was a lot at stake: the winner would become the show's 30th victor in 31 seasons. (Sandra Diaz-Twine has won the game twice.

CBS's "Survivor: Cambodia" -- aka Season 31, aka "Second Chance" -- is ending its fantastic run on Wednesday, December 16, with a two-hour finale and one-hour reunion show (where probably only Spencer and maybe two other people will be allowed to speak). At the end of the penultimate episode, Jeff Probst teased that, during the finale, something would happen for the first time in 31 seasons. What is it? We have a guess, but first here's more from Jeff to Entertainment Weekly:
Okay, six players left as we head to the finale/reunion. What can you tell us about both next Wednesday night?
"The finale is ... phenomenal. Historic. Unpredictable. And ultimately satisfying. I think it will cap off, in grand fashion, what most fans will regard as one of — if not The greatest season of Survivor. I have absolutely loved the way this group played. I am proud and impressed by the level...

Survivor: Second Chance recap “Villains Have More Fun,” Season 31, Episode 13 (original airdate Dec. 9): It’s day 33 and only seven are left. Jeremy and Spencer voted with the gals last Tribal Council and took out Joe. While Joe warned them of a potentially all-girl alliance (Tasha, Abi, Kelley and Kimmi), they opted to get rid of the person who they thought was their biggest threat, Joe. Now, Spencer and Jeremy are second guessing that move. Abi sees Joe’s departure as “good riddance.” Kelley thinks it evens the playing field, believing they now all have an equal shot at … Continue reading →

Don't feel bad for Joe Anglim.
When Survivor returns on Wednesday night, he'll be noticeably absent during the challenges. The rest of the tribe correctly determined that he was a threat to win the whole game and voted him out on day 31.
But Anglim, 27, will be just fine.
"Joe is athletic," host Jeff Probst told People earlier this season. "Joe is good-looking. Women want to date Joe; men wish they were Joe. He's got a lot of skills that make him good at life, but a threat at Survivor"
Case in point: Anglim competed so hard in an immunity challenge that he passed out.

Disclaimer: Stephen Fishbach has been People's resident Survivor blogger for years. He's quite popular around here.
We were excited when he was named as a possible contestant. We were thrilled when he made the final cast of the show. We were ecstatic – and a little bit surprised, if we're being perfectly honest – when he made it through the first tribal council without getting voted off.
As it turned out, Fishbach did better than anyone expected, forming solid alliances and lasting 29 days before being voted out.
Survivor is unpredictable, and Fishbach was eliminated after playing his "steal the vote" advantage? Why?...
