The Omen was a blessed success upon its release, earning a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing films of 1976. One of those ticket buyers was Wes Craven, who had already made his debut with The Last House on the Left and was gearing up for his sophomore film, The Hills Have Eyes.
“I remember thinking, ‘Big studio, won’t have a cutting edge to it. Gregory Peck, how can he be scary? I like him, but.’ And it was. I was totally amazed,” the master of horror recalled in a 2006 DVD special feature in which he waxes poetic about The Omen for some 20 minutes.
“I think [Richard] Donner is just one of our primo filmmakers.” Craven had been watching the future Superman and The Goonies director’s work since his early days helming episodes of classic TV shows like The Twilight Zone and Gilligan’s Island. “Every so often, he just knocks something...

Much like Jamie Lee Curtis returning to play Laurie Strode in the recent Halloween trilogy, the upcoming Exorcist sequel also features an actor returning to one of their most iconic roles. The Exorcist: Believer sequel finds Ellen Burstyn returning to play Chris MacNeil fifty years after last playing the role.
While speaking with Total Film, The Exorcist: Believer director David Gordon Green discussed getting Ellen Burstyn to return to the franchise she helped start all those years ago. “It’s incredible. I read her biography, and then it became like a mission: could I invite one of the Hollywood icons to step into this role that she hasn’t been in, in 50 years?” Green said. “That’s a true undertaking.“

The Cleaning Lady has brought intrigue, action, and romance since it debuted on Fox in 2022.
The addicting crime drama was developed by Miranda Kwok and followed Thony De La Rhosa’s struggles in Las Vegas. Her young son had a rare blood disorder, and she couldn’t afford treatment unless she worked for the mob and they helped her.
During The Cleaning Lady Season 2, Thony grew even deeper into the crime world to save Luca, but that had severe consequences. While it was sometimes frustrating to see her make those mistakes and see others pay for them, we’re eager to see what’s next for everyone.
Luckily, Fox renewed The Cleaning Lady for a third season in February 2023.
“After two heart-pounding seasons, we’re thrilled with how audiences have latched on to this incredible story,” said Michael Thorn. Fox Entertainment President.

Angela Harvey had one job at the Think Tank for Inclusion and Equity’s picket at the Disney lot last Friday: to take photos and document the event on social media. “I get here and go to take photos, and I left my phone in the car down on Riverside,” says the TV writer and co-chair of the advocacy organization composed of working television scribes from historically excluded backgrounds.
Katherine Beattie, a member of Ttie’s steering committee and also a Writers Guild of America strike captain, offered to retrieve it for her. “Katherine uses a wheelchair and was like, ‘I’ll be faster.’ So she went and got my phone, and it was really fast!” Harvey laughs. “She could do that because this place is accessible.” (The Disney lot, with its wide sidewalks, is considered one of the most accessible picketing locations.)

To coincide with the 50-year anniversary of the original Exorcist film, Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green will unveil a new sequel called The Exorcist: Believer on Friday, October 13th, 2023.
The film stars Leslie Odom, Jr. as Victor Fielding, a widower who raises his daughter Angela on his own. “But when Angela and her friend Katherine disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil.”
Alongside Odom, the cast includes Lidya Jewett, Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, and Olivia Marcum. Perhaps most exciting, however, is the return of Ellen Burstyn, who reprises her role as Chris MacNeil for the first time since her Oscar-nominated performance in the original 1973 film.
