Nick Buzzell is one of modern-day media's most-respected entrepreneurs and media executives. Blending entertaining storytelling with advanced technology and commerce, he founded and currently pioneers two of the world's most valued streaming channels, Spirits Network and Golf Nation, to extraordinary heights.
Spirits Network launched in 2019 as the world's first shoppable video platform. Known as "Netflix Meets QVC" for premium spirits enthusiasts, viewers of entertaining, commercial-free original shows featuring experts and celebrities, instantly purchase items via the on-screen 'buy bar', with home delivery to 48 states and the UK, while never leaving the streaming video experience.
Debuted in late 2022, Golf Nation follows a similar easy to use on-screen shopping format within premium original programming, leveraging the $84B annual golf economy. As a hub for all things golf-lifestyle entertainment programming, it is redefining how products are bought and sold to the coveted golf demographic.
Massive distribution for both networks includes Apple & Android mobile apps, Apple TV, Vizio, Android TV, Fire TV, and Roku, and content is available on tens of millions connected (smart) TVs. The biggest brands in spirits, golf, and luxury non-endemics continuously realize significant ROI from video commerce sponsorships.
Buzzell amassed remarkable investor and advisor backing, including Mark Bezos (High Post Capital), David Nichols (former President of K-Swiss), Mindy Grossman (former CEO of Home Shopping Network and Weight Watchers International) John Esposito (Chairman of Whistle Pig and former CEO of Bacardi North America), Suzy Whaley (former President of the PGA of America), Dee Robinson (Trustee of PGA Reach) and Rich Katz (Founder of Golf-Marketer Buffalo Agency and longtime executive of Billy Casper Golf).
Spirits Network and Golf Nation are powered by the proprietary NBTV Channels video commerce platform with programming produced by NBTV Studios, the production company which Buzzell founded in 2008 as a producer of award-winning films, TV shows, branded entertainment series, and commercials for Fortune 500 brands, media companies and celebrities.
Previously, Buzzell rose the ranks from MTV to "The David Letterman Show" and Executive Producer of the hit "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on Bravo. He was part of the original team that became Hulu all while leading digital production at NBC Universal Digital Studios, before heading up Big Fuel, the first pure-play social agency that created branded video campaigns for GM, Neutrogena, McDonalds, AOL, Fox, and other goliaths.
Buzzell has been a featured speaker at SXSW, NATPE, Ad Week, Internet Week, Universities, and various film and TV festivals.
He holds a degree in communications, with honors, from Pace University. After 20 years in New York City, he recently relocated two hours north to Rhinebeck, NY with his wife Eirene, a Rhinebeck native, their two daughters, and English bulldog Bruno.
