Two producers of Starz’s forthcoming Outlander prequel are taking on a different long-running book series for their next TV project.
Story Mining & Supply Co., the production company founded by Jim Kohlberg, has acquired rights to Edgar Award-winning author William Kent Krueger’s Cork O’Connor mystery thriller novels, about a half-Irish, half-Ojibwe sheriff turned private investigator in Minnesota. The company will adapt the books — there are 19 to date, with a 20th set to publish in August — for television and is currently meeting with writers. No outlet is attached yet.
Kohlberg and longtime partner Luke Parker Bowles, a former BAFTA East Coast chairman (and nephew of Britain’s queen consort), will executive produce the project along with Krueger.
“From the minute I cracked open Kent’s first book, in much the same way as I did with Outlander, it was very clear that this series needed to be made,...

Robert Englund steps into the director’s chair with ‘976-Evil,’ a dark dive into Satanism and demonology where a bullied outcast uses an occult hotline to bite back.
“Out of the darkness and into light, comes your horrorscope on this dark and stormy night.”
Robert Englund is a name who needs no introduction in the horror community. He’s played Freddy Krueger in eight A Nightmare on Elm Street movies and has brought life to one of the horror genre’s greatest icons. Englund’s incomparable work as Krueger would be enough to forever make him a celebrity, but he’s had a rich horror career that’s included multiple roles in Tobe Hooper films and, more recently, his standout performance as Victor Creel in the streaming phenomenon, Stranger Things. Englund will always be Freddy Krueger, but it’s curious to consider how his career would have been different if...

Pat Sajak provided comforting words on Tuesday’s (March 20) Wheel of Fortune after a contestant fell just one word short of solving the final puzzle and bagging an extra $40,000. In fact, she did all the hard work by amazingly guessing the first three words correctly, but completely flunked on the final word, which seemed the easiest of the lot to guess. The contestant in question was Laquisha Persak, a married mother of one from Tallahassee, Florida. She faced off against Zevon Atkinson from Bloomington, Indiana, and Danielle Krueger from Omaha, Nebraska. Fun fact: Krueger’s mom competed on the show 20 years ago. Persak got off to a solid start, and by the end of the Express Round, she’d won $19,589 cash and a cruise aboard the Disney Wish to the Bahamas worth $11,889. Krueger fought back towards the end of the episode, putting the pressure on Persak. But it wasn’t enough.

A spinoff of the film franchise, “Freddy’s Nightmares” was an anthology series starring the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund. Airing from 1988 to 1990, each episode told a different story of a dark rooted and grim nature that takes place in this fictitious town on Elm Street, and now a brand new book will take us deeper into the series than ever before.
Death Cult Press has announced Welcome to Primetime from authors Geoff Turner, Henrique Couto and David Denover, up for pre-order now ahead of April 1, 2024 release.
“This collection features breakdowns of each episode in the series, interviews with the show’s creators and a selected history of the bizarre world of horror anthology television.”
You can pre-order three different book bundles from Death Cult Press now.
“Freddy’s Nightmares” picked up with where the films left off, with Krueger terrorizing the citizens of his hometown and taking his revenge out through their dreams.

Why is Freddy Krueger scary? And yes, that’s a serious question. There are obvious reasons, like the burned face, the knife fingers, and his hideous fashion sense, but what’s at his core that makes him terrifying? Like some of horror’s best creations, Freddy is a byproduct of secrets. He’s the untold truth that people kept to themselves in the name of the so-called greater good. Using Krueger as a walking, talking metaphor, Wes Craven exposed the horrors of keeping secrets, rewriting history, and picking and choosing which parts of the past feel relevant to our present.
A Nightmare on Elm Street turns 40 this year. While older films sometimes lose their potency over time and get by on reputation alone, Nightmare’s bite remains on par with its bark. The flick endures partly because it grounds its surreal, scary moments in the notion that these kids are out of their depths.

My confession: I was a late bloomer to loving horror movies. Well, ok, I've been drawn to art and stories that scare me since I can remember, but it was only in high school that my curiosity started to overpower my fear (that and I discovered ways to access movies without my parents). Even so, it took me until October 2017, my first spooky season in college, to finally watch the classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
Why did I take so long? I'd heard of the movie before and I knew who Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) was. I'd seen "The Simpsons" parody in "Treehouse of Horror VI" ("Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace") and understood what it was referencing. I even knew the lyrics of the ghostly killer's theme song. Shouldn't "Nightmare" have been a priority for me?
Yet, as a budding cinephile in the early 2000s, I spent as much time...

Women's tennis could experience a major shakeup in rankings next season, with plenty of interesting names expected to make their mark.
Teenagers have not been left out of contending for the biggest Wta titles in the past few seasons. In four of the past five years, at least one teenager has won a Grand Slam, and there is a good chance that trend will continue next season.
But Grand Slams are not the only metric to determine a player's breakthrough. A Top 10 or even Top 20 win that serves as a catalyst to a productive season is well worthy of being classified in that category.
In this article, we shall list five of the likeliest teenagers who could enjoy a breakthrough year on the women's tour, culminating with a new career-high ranking and potentially even making quite the splash at Grand Slam level.
5. Brenda Fruhvirtova (16 years old)

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has an incredible cast of characters that fill out the world around the central group, "the gang," and few are as funny or tragic as Matthew "Rickety Cricket" Mara, played by the fabulous David Hornsby. Hornsby is also a writer and co-producer, bringing his slightly twisted sense of humor to the series in more ways than one, but it's hard to deny his impact as Cricket. The first time fans met Cricket, he was a handsome young priest who had intense unrequited feelings for Dee (Kaitlin Olson). He went to high school with the gang, which is where he earned the nickname "Rickety Cricket" because of his leg braces, and they only continue to make his life worse as the years go on. After Dee convinced him to leave the church and told him that her love for him was only because he was a priest and unattainable,...

This article contains minor Dream Scenario spoilers.
The most remarkable thing about Professor Paul Matthews is how unremarkable he is. The latest addition to Nicolas Cage’s oeuvre of oddballs and nuts is, in fact, impressively forgettable. So what makes him so curiously haunting after you’ve seen Dream Scenario? Cage himself is obviously a major factor. With a frequently perspiring bald cap around the temples, hunched shoulders, and a twitchy gaze that betrays the desperation of a lonely child in a middle-aged body, the veteran thespian has built a darkly amusing portrait of neediness which walks right up to the fine border between character and caricature, and gives it a frantic, pleading wave.
It’s a brilliant creation, and it is implemented in one of the cruelest comedies of the last couple of years. Because in spite of Paul Matthews’ lack of distinction, he is the man of your dreams…...

What’s the best slasher franchise of all time? That question is certain to start an argument among horror fans. But with all due respect to “Scream,” Wes Craven’s original horror franchise “A Nightmare on Elm Street” has quite possibly the most legitimate claim to the title.
Sure, not every film about wacky child murderer Freddy Krueger (the delightfully menacing Robert Englund) and his mission to kill the teenagers of Springwood in their sleep is an A+ effort. Like many a slasher franchise, the series eventually succumbed to its own ridiculousness as sequel after sequel was steadily pumped out and quality diminished. But the series also has more hits to its credit than most of the other classic slashers. The original “Halloween” is arguably the best slasher of all time, but it’s also the only genuinely great film in the franchise (though there are dozens of “Halloween H20” defenders!

Ons Jabeur extended her winning streak by beating Ashlyn Krueger in the first round of the 2023 China Open despite some minor problems.
Getting off to a winning start in the event after winning a trophy is far harder than most people imagine. Quite a few players have problems with that and it comes down to fatigue and just the emotional roller coaster such a week of tennis carries.
It wasn't that much of a problem for Ons Jabeur, who was facing a very tricky opponent who played really strong tennis in recent weeks. The Tunisian was spectacular recently as well, winning a trophy in Ningbo last week , and she extended her winning streak with this win.
The first set was a pretty close one for the first sex games, as the score was 3-3 at that time. After that, Jabeur completely outplayed her opponent to take the opening set 6-...

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka maintained her 1,071-point gap over second-placed Iga Swiatek , kicking off her second week atop the Wta standings.
Sabalenka and Swiatek were not in action this past week, as were a number of Top 10 players who preferred to take some time off from the rigors of competition after the 2023 US Open. Nonetheless, there were two significant changes in the world's Top 10.
Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula swapped places in 4th and 5th, respectively. Rybakina dropped down after her runner-up points from Portoroz came off, allowing Pegula to overtake her. While Barbora Krejcikova re-entered the world's Top 10 (10th spot) after capturing the San Diego Open last weekend.
Krejcikova is one of three Czech players in the world's Top 10 , along with Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova (6th) and French Open finalist Karolina Muchova (8th). She breaks that barrier once again after a tough summer in which she lost four matches on the spin.

Mitski’s seventh studio album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, has arrived. Stream the album below. Update: To coincide with the album’s release, Mitski has also shared a new video for “My Love Mine All Mine.”
Spanning 11 tracks, The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We features many of the things you would expect from a Mitski album, like production from longtime-collaborator, Patrick Hyland, thoughtful songwriting, and brilliant moments of catharsis. Yet, focusing on the inescapable contradiction of love and isolation, she reaches some of her most profound musings, with impactful arrangements to match the mood.
In his review, Consequence’s Jonah Krueger celebrated the project for being Mitski’s “most comforting, hopeful yet.” Explaining that she finds solace in the heartache of loss, Krueger writes that the overarching theme of the album endows the listener with invaluable emotional tools, and looks past sorrow to find strength.

Cupcake? Attacking people. Foxy? Running like an awkward weirdo in the original game. Springtrap? Oh, baby, he is here, and "Five Nights at Freddy" fans are eatin' good with this newest movie trailer from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. For the last decade, "Five Nights at Freddy's" (or "FNaF") has been a cultural phenomenon with a stranglehold on the landscape of horror gaming. Created by Scott Cawthon, the point-and-click survival horror game was a simple indie game that gained viral fame and turned into a multi-million dollar franchise. A film adaptation has been in production hell for over five years at this point, but everything we've seen thus far has been proof that this is no ordinary adaptation. It's difficult not to just sit here and completely geek out over this latest trailer, because after years of thinking a "FNaF" film wasn't ever going to see the light of day, seeing...

At the end of 1993’s Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, horror fans saw the sight of Friday the 13th slasher Jason Voorhees’ hockey mask lying in the dirt, after its wearer had been vanquished. It seemed as though the story of this villain had finally come to the end. At least until A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger’s blade-gloved hand popped out of the dirt and dragged the mask to Hell.
The scene seemed to tease an oncoming battle between Krueger and Voorhees, which fans had wanted. Horror geeks had debated who would win in such a fight, but for a very long time, it seemed like it would only exist in people’s fantasies and never in an actual movie. Until, of course, Ronny Yu’s Freddy vs. Jason came to fruition.

Victoria Azarenka had a good start into the grass-court season, but couldn't follow up on it in her second match at the 2023 Libema Open .

But after Azarenka succeeded in her opener, and delighted fans by distributing tennis balls with her son Leo , it was expected that she will gradually improve match by match as she was one of the favourites of the 2023 Libema Open.
But in the second round of the Wta 250 tournament, the Belarusian met Ashlyn Krueger, World No. 152, who was determined to stop the two-time Grand Slam champion before the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Kei Nishikori is finally back on the courts as the Japanese player will play at the Palmas del Mar Atp Challenger event in Puerto Rico.
Nishikori has missed well over a year of tennis following his injury that saw him undergo surgery in order to repair it. The last time Nishikori played before this event was back in October of 2021 which makes his return only four months shy of a 2-year mark.
It's been a tough period for the former Top 5 players as he had to push back his comeback multiple times in order to better prepare. Being 33 years old doesn't make it any easier and as Nadal's case recently proved, hip injuries are very complicated.
Luckily all of those setbacks and pushbacks proved the right decision because Kei Nishikori will take to the courts in Puerto next week. The former grand slam finalist is a wild card entry...

Maybe more than any other character in the pantheon of horror villain legends, Freddy Krueger was custom built to put the fear of god into us. Nothing about his presence was thrown together haphazardly. Instead, nearly every aspect of his design had a tremendous amount of thought put into it. From makeup effects great David B. Miller’s inspired work creating the Krueger’s crispy kisser, to the subliminal mind games played by creator Wes Craven when choosing certain aspects of his look (the razor glove was meant to resemble the clawed paws of a prehistoric predator while the colors of his sweater were chosen due to the difficult time the human eye has processing red and green together), we were meant to feel Freddy’s menace on a subatomic level.

Plot: Throughout his career, Englund starred in many well-known movies, but shot to super-stardom with his portrayal of supernatural serial killer Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise. This unique and intimate portrait captures the man behind the glove and features interviews with Englund and his wife Nancy, Lin Shaye, Eli Roth, Tony Todd, Heather Langenkamp and more.
Review: I remember reading Robert Englund’s Autobiography when I was in college. It was a wonderful telling of Englund’s life and career and painted the picture of a humble thespian who just wants to perform. So I perked up when hearing they were creating a full-length documentary. Especially since Englund had lived a decade of life since the book had been released. To say that Englund is a god-like figure in the horror realm would be underselling it. He’s beloved by fans everywhere in a way that few actors manage to achieve.

These "what if" questions become a harsh reality for the protagonists in Yellowjackets by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. As Yellowjackets returns for a second season, the fan-favorite group of survivors wraps themselves in an even larger cocoon of lies and risky scenarios before reuniting at Lottie's cult for the vicious and trailblazing doozy of a finale. At the same time, things get dire for the soccer team in the wild as the winter comes and there is no food. Season 2 has a lot in store for us, such as answers about Lottie's mental state and Shauna's pregnancy. At the same time,...

Horror movie legend Robert Englund, best known for portraying merciless nightmare murderer Freddy Krueger, is opening up about where he believes the character fell off the rails in the newer flicks.
The acclaimed horror movie vet, 75, recently shared his thoughts with Variety while discussing his upcoming documentary, “Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story”, which releases June 6.
Englund initially auditioned for Wes Craven’s 1984 smash “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, a low-budget hit which blossomed into a defining horror film, while filming another role for the movie “V”. After starring as the serial killer in a myriad of sequels and spin-offs, his final appearance was in the 2003 box office smash “Freddy vs. Jason”.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are the primary draw of "The Simpsons," but the series has no shortage of uproarious side characters. One of which is Groundskeeper Willie, the cantankerous janitor at Springfield Elementary School. His first appearance was in the Season 2 episode "Principal Charming," and he's since become one of the show's most beloved characters, due in no small part to his exaggerated Scottish accent and fiery temper. But Willie is more than just a stereotype; one of the funniest recurring gags is how his blue-collar getup hides his surprisingly ripped physique. And who could forget his colorful, if confusing, insults? (Five bucks to anyone who can tell me why "croquet-playin' mint-muncher" is a putdown.)
Over the years, Willie's influence has transcended "Simpsons" fandom. He is, after all, the reason why "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" has entered the modern lexicon. Mosey on over to the "Famous Glaswegians" section of the Glasgow City Council website,...

Steven Krueger is a talented American actor known for his impressive performances on the small screen. He first gained recognition for his role as Josh Rosza in The Vampire Diaries spin-off series, The Originals. Initially intended as a recurring character, Krueger’s outstanding portrayal of the character as Marcel’s henchman and Klaus’ spy earned him a promotion to series regular for Season 5. Krueger continued to impress audiences with his acting skills and landed his first starring role in the Showtime survival series, Yellowjackets, playing the role of Ben Scott, a high school soccer coach who becomes one of the survivors...

This post contains spoilers for all of "Yellowjackets" so far.
Of all the characters on "Yellowjackets," Coach Ben's continued survival is perhaps the strangest. "Yellowjackets" usually gets described as "that show about a bunch of teen girls trapped in the wilderness," so viewers getting into the show late might be surprised to find that there's also an adult man with them the whole time.
Coach Ben originally served as the show's voice of reason. He was older and more responsible, so he could stop the group from indulging in its worst impulses. But Coach Ben's one-legged status has done a lot of damage to his control over the team: he can't physically help out at all, and in this new environment, usefulness and social capital go hand in hand. By the time the team is devouring Jackie in early season 2, Coach Ben's been struggling with the reality that he has...

This article contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 2.
Since the pilot episode of "Yellowjackets" where a girl falls into a pit to her death and is (likely) eaten, fans have been waiting to see exactly how the plane crash survivors succumb to cannibalism. Even though it was expected at some point, the final moments of "Edible Complex," the second episode of season 2, are deeply unnerving. Set to the raw, dissonant sounds of Radiohead's "Climbing Up the Walls," the teenage girls and Travis feverishly devour Jackie's burnt body while Coach Ben looks on from the cabin doorway, eventually turning around in horror and disgust.
Co-showrunner Jonathan Lisco explained to Rolling Stone that Ben was originally not the only bystander:
"For a while, there was a discussion of whether or not Natalie should refuse to eat her, because she's not ready to go there, because she is such a strong character. She's...

Spoilers for "Yellowjackets" follow.
Few characters on "Yellowjackets" have suffered more than Coach Ben Scott (Steven Krueger). He lost his right leg in the plane crash, leaving him dependent on the teenage girls he used to coach at soccer. He also confessed to Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) back in season 1 that he could've avoided the flight. His boyfriend Paul (François Arnaud) wanted Ben to move to the city with him. However, it's 1996, so Ben is still in the closet, especially since he's a high school instructor. If Ben had the courage to start a new life, he wouldn't be stuck in hell right now — and he knows it.
In season 2's second episode, "Edible Complex," the teenage survivors devoured the roasted body of Jackie (Ella Purnell). Ben was the only abstainer; he couldn't even look at the cannibalism unfolding. Since then, he's started disassociating. Since episode 3, "Digestif," he's been having daydreams...

We’ve previously heard that the documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, which – as you may have guessed from the title – chronicles the life and career of iconic actor Robert Englund, will be getting a digital release and will also be available to watch on the Bloody Disgusting streaming service Screambox on June 6th. Now the folks at Collider have revealed that the movie will also be getting a Blu-ray collector’s edition slipcase and steelbook release on July 25th. So if you want to add a physical media copy to your collection, you’ll be able to do so less than two months after the movie starts streaming.
As genre fans know, Englund shot to fame portraying one of Hollywood’s most iconic horror characters: Freddy Krueger. A classically trained actor and feature director, Englund’s early credits included cult surfing movie Big Wednesday. His career...

“Yellowjackets” earned seven Emmy nominations for its first season and stands to perform even better this time around. Ardent supporters within the television academy who want the show to compete in as high a number of categories as possible have a trio of viable Drama Supporting Actor candidates to back. The top 10 is currently swarming with names from “Succession,” “The White Lotus: Sicily” and “House of the Dragon.” As of now, “Yellowjackets” trails all three for Best Drama Series but only by a relative handful of users. Emmy voters haven’t been shy about promoting their favorites in the past; a restricted ballot can only effect so much change. If Showtime’s hit thriller is the awards juggernaut some are saying it’ll pan out to be, the show could sneak at least one of three male cast members – Elijah Wood, Warren Kole and Steven Krueger – into the race.

The episode of Deconstructing… covering Wes Craven’s New Nightmare was Written, Edited, and Narrated by Kier Gomes, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
When one of your horror-head friends mentions Wes Craven slasher flicks that lean into the late director’s signature meta filmmaking style, what movie automatically comes to mind? Scream? Well, yeah. But let’s not forget that Scream, while being arguably the greatest and most consistent slasher franchise of all time, is not Craven’s first turn at using meta commentary to create an iconic horror film. The director is remembered fondly for re-invigorating the slasher genre with 1996’s Scream and rightfully so – but before re-invigorating the genre, he first Invigorated it with the iconic Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, which introduced audiences to one of the most recognizable movie villains of all time. This post contains spoilers through the third episode of "Yellowjackets" season 2.
Of all the main characters on "Yellowjackets," Coach Ben (Steven Krueger) is the one we're the most worried for. As the only adult in the group, he's something of a permanent outsider, and the fact that he's lost a leg doesn't help. Not only is he not able to pitch in much to support the group, but he can't even run away if his team decides they want to eat him. He's essentially dead weight who has gradually lost all his authority, and as an adult man, his corpse would make for a far bigger feast than Jackie's. The fact that he hasn't been mentioned in the present-day storyline may not guarantee his death — like with Van and Lottie before season 2, "Yellowjackets" might simply be biding their time with him — but it's certainly not a good sign.
If the latest episode's any indication,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 2 Episode 3, “Digestif.”] “I didn’t have to do a whole lot of acting honestly. It was pretty scary,” Steven Krueger confesses about the scene in episode three where his character, Coach Ben Scott, hallucinates that one of the Yellowjackets (Mya Lowe) is foaming at the mouth and preparing to eat him. That very scenario is what fans of the thriller have been anticipating with dread since Coach chose not to partake in the group feast on Jackie. Rest easy, Ben fans. Krueger joined our The Buzz on Yellowjackets aftershow and revealed that the nightmare won’t become reality anytime soon. Instead, tonight was a key turning point in his character’s intriguing season-long arc. “He’s ostracized, pushed aside as an authority figure. Now he’s left to his own devices. A lot of times that means his own psyche, which can be your own worst enemy. Once...

[This story contains spoilers from the third episode of Yellowjackets season two, “Digestif.”]
Yellowjackets returned after the show’s most shocking episode yet to show the young survivors’ collective hangover after their cannibalistic feast.
The third episode of the hit Showtime survival series, titled “Digesti,” opens with a reminder for both viewers and Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) about what they did. “You really don’t remember? Tai, you ate her face,” says Van (Liv Hewson) to her girlfriend, who has dissociative sleepwalking episodes and is unable to remember what happens when “other Tai” takes over. Taissa then gets violently ill.
As the cast shared in an oral history with The Hollywood Reporter, the starving characters in the show’s 1996 wilderness timeline savagely feasted on the body of their dead teammate Jackie (played by Ella Purnell), after a hallucinatory sex scene involving Lottie (Courtney Eaton). The feast played out in both reality and in a bacchanal dream sequence.

Warning: Spoilers for “Yellowjackets’ season 2, episode 2, “Edible Complex,” written by Jonathan Lisco and directed by Ben Semanoff. The young stars — Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin Alves and others — break down what happened in the past timeline while speaking to Et’s Deidre Behar about the Showtime series.
Following a satisfying start to “Yellowjackets” season 2, which not only brought back Jackie (Ella Purnell) but also saw Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) eating her late best friend’s ear, the second episode took things even further as the series made good on a promise first teased in the season 1 premiere.
In the present, Tai (Tawny Cypress) navigates her uneasy relationship with her estranged wife, Simone (Rukiya Bernard), Nat (Juliette Lewis) finds herself trying to understand what’s going on with Lottie’s (Simone Kessell) cult, and Misty (Christina Ricci) starts getting messages from fellow citizen detective Walter (Elijah Wood).

Warning: This story contains spoilers from “Edible Complex,” the second episode of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, now streaming on Showtime.
It’s official: “Yellowjackets” went there. After the Season 2 premiere ended with — quite literally — a crunch as teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) ate the ear of her dead best friend, Jackie (Ella Purnell), the second episode took cannibalism on the show a step further. After the group found out that Shauna had been talking to and putting makeup on Jackie’s corpse, they thought it was best to burn her body. However, the smell of her body being barbecued drew the group outside, and they decided to eat her as a feast.
“She wants us to,” Shauna says before ripping off a piece to eat.
“I think I threw my script! I kind of saw it coming, but not that way,” Jasmin Savoy Brown, who portrays young Taissa, tells Variety about when she first read the scene.

As we head into the second season, Showtime has unveiled two cool pieces of marketing that’s very fitting for a show that partially takes place in 1996: a ’90s-style MTV News video (complete with Kurt Loder!) that covers the news of the disappearance of the titular Yellowjackets, and directs viewers to a ’90s-style website, WhereAretheYellowjackets.com. If you were watching MTV or surfing the web back in the ’90s, these marketing materials will definitely press your nostalgia buttons. The MTV News video can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Four months ago, we heard that Lauren Ambrose (Servant) was joining the cast of the Showtime series Yellowjackets to play the adult version of the character Van Palmer in season 2 of the show. A character viewers hadn’t even been sure survived to reach adulthood. Now Deadline has gotten their hands on the first images of Ambrose as the character, and you can see them at the bottom of this article.
The teenage Van benefits from the addition of adult Van to the show, as Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet) – who plays teen Van – has officially been promoted to series regular for season 2.

Earlier this year, married couple Melanie Lynskey and Jason Ritter worked together on the five episode Hulu mini-series Candy (read our review Here), where Lynskey played one of the lead characters and Ritter appeared in two episodes as a police officer. Now Variety reports that they’ll be sharing the screen again in the Showtime series Yellowjackets, as Ritter will be making a guest appearance in one episode of Yellowjackets season 2.
On Yellowjackets, Lynskey plays the adult version of the character Shauna, who is played as teenager by Sophie Nelisse. Variety didn’t reveal who Ritter will be playing on the show.

Anyone who has worked in film can tell you that plans are constantly changing. You try to plan for it all in advance in pre-production to try to make things run smoothly once filming starts. But you can only plan for so much, especially when it comes to the below-the-line crafts. Makeup might not look right on camera. Costume changes can happen in the middle of production once deemed impractical. A stunt may be completely re-worked when safety is called into question. That's when the team has to quickly come up with something or else risk a delayed production. A death sentence!
In the case of "A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors," the special effects department dealt a lot with this trial and error process. Freddy Krueger's supernatural murderous attempts in this installment reached new levels of ridiculous creativity. That creativity came at a cost, though, as...
