On Friday night, America's Next Top Model aired its cycle 22 finale, which doubled as a series finale. The episode was stacked with what was probably its strongest final four in years: rocker chick Mikey Heverly, girl-next-door Lacey Rogers, daughter of Ghanaian diplomat Mame Adjei, and Nyle Dimarco, the show's first-ever deaf contestant, who ended up being crowned the winner. He cried; I cried. His tearful (and also deaf) mom pulled a reverse of Maury's "baby mama finding out her boyfriend is not the father" — she ran out from the Antm greenroom, down the hallway, and onto the set to embrace her son while a whimper of confetti showered the two. This ho-hum celebration from the show's producers actually seems fitting considering the creator, host, and former supermodel Tyra Banks nonchalantly announced the series was ending on Twitter two months ago. This announcement surprised no one, of course. After all,...

This recap will in no way acknowledge that America’s Next Top Model is over. Ok, sure, the Cycle 22 finale doubled as the series finale for The CW’s reality staple, but as long as there’s booching and tooching, until innocent young children stop looking into the mirror and smiling with their eyes, then Tyra Banks’ contributions to the world of modeling and the pop-cultural pantheon will never die. (Oh, also, there’s this.)

The time has come: Tyra Banks has crowned the Cycle 22 winner of America's Next Top Model, a.k.a. the final winner of the show—ever. With four models remaining heading into the second half of the finale—Mikey, Nyle, Lacey and Mame—who made it out on top? Warning: Don't read on unless you've watched the finale, or if you're totally cool with spoilers. Either one is fine. Ok, ready? And the last-ever winner of America's Next Top Model is: Nyle Dimarco, who also happens to be the second-ever male winner and the first deaf winner. The dark-haired model remained solidly in the middle of the pack until coming out of his shell in the sixth episode of the season, after a...

It's down to the final runway show, and there are still four aspiring models left on The CW's America's Next Top Model. Tyra is really dragging the elimination process out, putting Mame, Mikey, Lacey and Nyle through two photo shoots and a presentation before revealing the final guy and girl, one of whom will become the last top model, ever.
After some agonizing deliberation and the flip of a coin, I had previously predicted that Nyle and Mame would be the last two standing, but after watching the Nylon and Zappo Couture photos shoots, I am tempted to second guess my choices since everybody performed very well, and any criticism was evenly distributed. Here's a rundown of how the final four fared in front of the camera, and my pick for who will win it all.

Update: Smize, everybody, he did it! The Antm series finale came down to Nyle Dimarco vs. Mamé Adjei and Nyle won it all, despite Mame's killer final runway walk. Mikey and Lacey were cut before the runway, although they still walked in the show, along with the other eliminated Cycle 22 models and the hotness of Cycle 21 winner Keith Carlos. And that's it. From now on, no one is still in the running toward becoming America's Next Top Model. Sniff. But The CW should still do a special all-winners competition to determine the Top top model. Please?

What a difference a week makes on The CW's America's Next Top Model. Mikey went from living large in the Tyra Suite to receiving a stay of execution after landing in the bottom with Lacey, while Nyle clawed his way back from the abyss and wound up at the top of the heap. The competition is so tight, the judges are now leaving it up to the fab four to each plead their case as to why they should make it to the final two.
A Family Affair
When TyTy surprised the final four with visits from their moms, it was hard to not become more emotionally invested in who stays and who goes in this final elimination.

Wouldn't it suck to have your mother on set to see you getting your dream of being America's Next Top Model smashed to smithereens on national television? That's all I can think about as I watch Antm's penultimate episode, "The Guy Who Was a Mama's Boy." If you can put that potential disaster aside, it could totally rock to have a professional photo shoot with the woman who gave birth to you.
Other than that little spot of anxiety for yours truly, I'm pretty excited about tonight's installment, and for reasons other than that we are finally free of Devin. By the end of the hour we'll know the names of the finalists who will advance to compete for the title of America's Last Top Model. Our remaining models have captured first call-out for the last seven episodes, but some have bagged more firsts than others. Here's how it's...

Ding dong Devin is gone, and it's down to the final four on America's Next Top Model. Former faves Nyle and Lacey are floundering while Mikey and Mame, "M&M," keep coming out on top. Mikey has proven that having no sense of self-awareness can be a great asset to an up-and-coming model. Mikey is a D-bag to the extreme, but after finding out he's the only man in his family to both graduate from high school and avoid jail, it's hard not to root for him.
Antm's last cycle has produced four really strong finalists, so TyTy should be proud that her TV legacy will be going out with a bang and not a whimper. Devin was the final weak link, so picking the final three will be no easy feat. Think you know who's going home next or just want to let us know your personal fave?...

And then there were five beautiful people competing for the title as America's Next Top Model. Or should we call it America's 'Last' Top Model since it's been announced that this cycle is the last of the franchise? Lacey, Mikey, Devin, Mame and Nyle are the last of the original 13. By the end of "The Girl Who Took A Shot In The Dark," one more angel will slowly fade from the group photo at the end of the episode.
The models learn a lot about personal branding as well as shooting in the cold and dark in this episode. Lacey hasn't fully recovered from being in the bottom two last week, but now that Hadassah, her detractor, is no longer there, hopefully she'll be able to get her game back. Mame does a miserable job in her challenge, but her photo kicks ass. Mikey continues to speak from his libido,...

Sin City didn't quite live up to it's name thanks to Devin on the most recent episode of America's Next Top Model. Mikey was determined to engage in a threeway with Mame and Hadassah, but Devin cockblocked his "friend" just as it looked like Mikey might seal the deal. Devin accused Mikey of distracting Ashley, causing her to be sent home. Mikey's snipe-y exchange with Devin took the wind out of his sail, so to speak.
What was more shocking than Lacey landing in the bottom two was Hadassah entertaining the idea of hooking up with human-cesspool, Mikey. Hadassah took the judges advice to loosen up to heart. It's too bad she applied it to her sex life and not her modeling.

And then there were nine. Previously in America's Next Top Model's 22nd cycle major strides were made by some models, especially Nyle, who found himself winning a challenge, landing first photo, and then landing in the top three once again. In "The Girl Who Got All Dolled Up" more strides are taken on a personal level by some in the house. Not so much for others. The guy who acted like a fool in the episode by the same title sinks further in the rankings, barely escaping elimination, and further disappoints with his callous disregard for one fellow model.
In one of the cutest photo shoots we've seen all cycle, models Hadassah, Devin, Nyle, Justin, Mame, Courtney, Mikey, Lacey and Bello dress up as life-size Barbie Dolls. It's a fun shoot, but Tyra has a super stinky surprise later that shocks everyone, but surprises no one when the final...

"The Guy Who Acts a Fool" is upon us and I think we all know who that fool is: Devin. The models are challenged to perform instead of simply posing in front of some influential CW executives during the challenge, and later in the making of an outrageous commercial. All around, this episode of America's Next Top Model is somewhat awkward in regard to modeling, but some competitors are us for the challenge.
With six challenges and seven major photo shoots under their belts, the competition is heating up for the remaining ten models: Witchy Bello, Whiney Courtney, Goofy Devin, Stunning Hadassah, Unemotional Justin, Beautiful Lacey, Exquisite Mame, Sleepy Ashley, Flirty Mikey, and Hot Nyle. Going forward, the nine who survive this episode will have to step up their games to keep from being in the bottom third and potentially being sent home to mommy. ...
