Bert's breakdown at Sharon's party was utterly heartbreaking.
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 9 offered a glimpse into the insidious nature of dementia. Bert was only in a few scenes, but his transformation from mostly with it to forgetting he didn't live with Sharon anymore to his grief over realizing his mistake was painfully realistic.
It was an hour filled with tough calls, but that was the scene that got me -- and it wasn't even at the hospital.
Sharon will always share a special bond with Bert even though they've both moved on. It would be less pronounced if he didn't have Alzheimer's and wasn't becoming aggressive during non-lucid moments, but it would be there no matter what.
Sharon knew how to calm Bert down, but it was hard to tell what her new boyfriend thought as she held Bert's hand and sang to him. Logically, there's no reason for Dennis to be jealous.

Former HBO Europe execs Johnathan Young and Ioanina Pavel have resurfaced with their own indie.
The pair have launched May One, which will be based in Bucharest, Romania — one of the former homes of HBO Europe. They are out of the gate with Subteran, a Netflix series announced last October that is produced alongside Tudor Rue from Mobra Films and now filming.
May One will seek to develop, produce and provide creative partnership for quality series shot in Romania, working with established and new talent from both within and outside the country. The company will look to open up Romanian resources and talent to the international industry to create collaborations in Europe and beyond.
In that sense, it harks back to HBO Europe’s ethos, which sought to bring together Central Eastern European talent with others from Western Europe and the U.S. It was considered one of the key international producers in the region,...

John Cena stands as one of WWE’s most iconic performers, anchoring the company for over 15 years as its squeaky clean, do-gooder, poster child. But as Cena expands his acting pursuits, he recently revealed to Howard Stern that WWE’s creative team barred him from ever embracing a heel turn. This refusal to explore his character’s dark side restricted Cena creatively and may have hindered engaging new feuds and story angles that could have thrilled fans.
John Cena Admits WWE Limited His Character Growth John Cena in Ricky Stanicky
John Cena recently made a candid confession about his iconic WWE tenure that may dishearten loyal fans. In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Cena acknowledged creative constraints that prevented him from turning heels or exploring more complexity.

Apple TV+ series “Masters of the Air” is the third collaboration from the team behind HBO’s “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific.” Trio Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Steven Spielberg produced the nine-part World War II epic series, which spotlights the men who fought in the 8th Air Force, specifically the men of the 100th Bomb Group. The vivid and vital story finds roots in the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller.
The crew of a typical Eighth Air Force heavy bomber plane included ten men — a pilot and his co-pilot flying the B17, the navigator and the bombardier in the machine’s nose, the flight engineer behind the pilot, the radio operator, two waist gunners, a ball turret gunner and a tail gunner. Not to mention the men who strategized from the bases, the plane engineers and Tuskegee airmen or Royal Airforce pilots who feature in this story.

Will may be gone, but Chicago Med's still going strong!
Fans gasped when Will resigned after sabotaging Or 2.0 and moved to Seattle, where he met Natalie and a still-adorable Owen at the airport. Nick Gehlfuss' surprise exit after eight years turned our expectations upside down; where does Med go from here?
There's still plenty of life left in Med, even without one of its leads, and we have details about Chicago Med Season 9! Be sure to bookmark this page and check back often, as we will update as we get more information.
Will is not the first original cast member to leave Chicago Med; however, he's been the heart of the series for eight years, and his absence will leave a gaping hole.
This will give some other characters a chance to shine. We might also get some new doctors into the rotation at Med. There are so many...

It might take me all summer to come to terms with this one.
Will Halstead has always been the heart of Chicago Med. Other characters have come and gone, but he was the one constant we could count on.
This isn't the end of the series, but Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 22 certainly felt like the end of an era when Will walked out those doors for the final time -- and ended up in Seattle with Natalie.
Will's last act was to work with Grace to screw up Or 2.0 completely. I'm unhappy about that, though I'm even less pleased to lose Will.
Marcel was right that the tech had been helpful in many ways and that eradicating its credibility wasn't the way to go. Marcel was the one person Jack trusted -- he could have gotten Jack to sideline the project after the IPO and put Grace to work on fixing the glitches.

This Star Trek: Picard article contains spoilers.
In its third season, Star Trek: Picard has been all about voices from the past. Given the show’s title character, most of those voices have unsurprisingly come from the era of The Next Generation. But in the opening minutes of the Picard series finale, we hear a voice that goes back even further into Star Trek history: that of Original Series star Walter Koenig, who voices his character’s offspring, Federation president Anton Chekov.
“Do not approach Earth,” warns President Chekov in a transmission to Starfleet survivors, including the crew of the newly-revived Enterprise-d. “Signal of unknown origin has turned our young against us. They have been assimilated by the Borg. Our fleet has been compromised, and as we speak, our planetary defenses are falling. Sol Station is defending Earth as best it can, but we’re almost out of time. We...

This post contains spoilers for the Picard series finale, “The Last Generation.”
When this third and final season of Picard debuted earlier this year, I wrote that while on the one hand it was shameless fan service, on the other this was exactly what Star Trek fans wanted and needed after the show’s first two years were so disappointing. Simply bringing back the entire crew of The Next Generation — and giving most of them much better and richer material than what they got to play back in the Eighties...

This article contains spoilers for the finale of "Star Trek: Picard."
The third season of "Star Trek: Picard" has brought back plenty of characters and concepts from previous entries in the "Star Trek" franchise, including the original series, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek: Voyager," and, of course, "Star Trek: The Next Generation." It's been a veritable feast of nostalgia, but one cameo in the series finale felt truly poignant and honored both a beloved character and the men who played him. The episode opens with the newly relaunched Enterprise-d headed toward Earth in an attempt to stop Picard's son Jack Crusher (Ed Speelers) and the Borg from assimilating all of the young people of Earth and taking control of the planet. They already control Starfleet, and things are looking pretty grim. That's when a familiar voice plays over comms and we hear the President of the United Federation...

Sandro Fiorin’s Figa Films has snapped up international sales rights to Pavel Giroud’s “El Caso Padilla,” which, selected for the San Sebastian highly competitive Horizontes Latinos, bids fair to become one of the most notable Latin American doc features of 2022.
Variety has also shared in exclusivity a first trailer to the film.
The follow-up to Giroud admired 2015 fiction film “El Acompañante,” which won San Sebastian’s Co-Production Forum, “El Caso Padilla” turns on the so-called Padilla Affair. That climaxed with arrest on March 30, 1971 of Heberto Padilla, one of the most exquisite and trenchant of modern Cuban poets whose 1968 poetry collection “Fuera de Juego” constituted a scathing attack on the lack of liberties in Fidel Castro’s Cuba.
Padilla’s arrest signalled the end of a honeymoon between Europe’s left and Castro’s revolution, prompting a letter published in Le Monde – signed by Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir,...

The last project by Stink Films Director Andzej Gavriss that we featured was a his defiant (and now multi-award winning) LGBTQ music video We Will Become Better, which told the story of two men in Russia who are forced apart because of the country’s homophobic laws yet remained together spiritually. His latest film Uprooted continues in this humanitarian interest, this time centring on the Ukrainian refugee experience of Ptsd. Gavriss conveys the horrifying nature of this trauma through its sensorial tactility, highlighting how war lives on in the minds of those who’ve experienced it. It’s a deeply moving short in which 60 Ukrainian refugees were involved across all aspects of production. Dn joined Gavriss for a conversation about his ongoing intentions for Uprooted, the decision to focus the film around the sensory experience of Ptsd, and the creative involvement of refugees that underpinned the entire artistic process.
