Exclusive: Emily VanCamp (The Resident), Sebastian Quinn (Dynasty), Enrique Murciano (Panic), Brent Sexton (Long Slow Exhale) and Josh Bowman (Revenge) will round out the cast of Michelle Danner’s courtroom drama, Miranda’s Victim. They join a stacked ensemble led by Abigail Breslin, which also includes Luke Wilson, Andy Garcia, Donald Sutherland, Ryan Phillippe, Mireille Enos, Kyle MacLachlan and Taryn Manning, as previously announced.
The film will tell the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin), who in 1963 was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda (Quinn). Committed to putting her assailant in prison, Trish’s life is destroyed by America’s legal system as she triggers a law that transforms the nation. Her case notably results in the establishment of the Miranda rights afforded to criminal suspects taken in police custody, to ensure the admissibility of statements made during interrogation, as part of subsequent criminal proceedings.

Since The Gifted began we’ve learnt little bits about Jace Turner (Cody Bell) but his actions have overshadowed his own personal story. This week though not only do we get to see what caused his vendetta against the mutants, but also see the impossible happen. He may actually be turning into a character we actually care about.
With Reed (Stephen Moyer) and Polaris (Emma Dumont) now free the mutants must escape Sentinel Services who are fast tracking them down. With the mutants wary of him, Reed takes a big risk to earn their truest, while Polaris and Eclipse (Marcos Diaz) come face to face with Jace Turner.
The episode starts with a flashback to the day of the event that we keep on hearing about. What we see is what makes Jace hate the mutants so much, and it humanises him more. It is hard to not relate to...

With The Gifted, the X-Men get a TV show that's not a weird 60s trip or some early 90s Matt Frewer nonsense. And because they're digging through 50 years of continuity, we're here to help you catch every reference, joke, allusion or sight gag we can.
- The first mutant we're introduced to is Blink. Clarice Ferguson was created by Scott Lobdell and Joe Madureira in 1994 as part of the Phalanx Covenant event. She was a member of the Generation X era of students, but she died helping them escape their techno-organic captors. Despite only being around for about four issues,...

There aren’t many shows that even have the theoretical possibility of getting me more interested in them than The Gifted. The Marvel Universe on television has mostly worked out for me, but more importantly, I want to know what Matt Nix does with the show, and I’m a pretty big fan of Amy Acker.
I’m not exactly sure how you keep an “on the run” story going forever, but it should be worth finding out where this can twist around its own gimmick. Previous looks at the show have already set things up pretty well, and if nothing else it looks like this is going to be a fun exploration of characters that goes a bit darker, much like the Netflix series we’ve seen so far.
You now have the chance to get a serious introduction with the first six minutes of the show so definitely check that out above,...

There's a brand new X-Men series coming - but who are The Gifted, exactly?
The Gifted is Fox's second adaptation bringing the X-Men universe to live action TV. Legion was very well made – visually terrific, clever and stylish, but it wasn’t too X-Men-centric. The Gifted? Though doubtlessly a more conventional take on Marvel's merry mutants, The Gifted could be the X-Men show fans have been waiting patiently for since at least the mid-90s.
As if to prove it, the show hasn't even aired yet and it already promises to be rammed with familiar names and faces. If you want to get up to speed on who (and what) The Gifted are, here's everything you need to know about the characters who have already been announced.

A brand new X-Men show is on its way in the form of The Gifted. Get a real taste of it by watching the opening scene...
From the mind of Matt Nix comes The Gifted, a brand new X-Men show that will follow a mum and dad (Angel's Amy Acker and True Blood's Stephen Moyer respectively) who discover that their kids may just have a few surprising superpowers. After they're forced to flee, the family must fight to stay alive, even if that means finding other mutants to give them a helping hand.
