For years, Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net has been about two things only – awesome art and the artists that create it. With that in mind, we thought why not take the first week of the month to showcase these awesome artists even more? Welcome to “Awesome Artist We’ve Found Around The Net.” In this column, we are focusing on one artist and the awesome art that they create, whether they be amateur, up and coming, or well established. The goal is to uncover these artists so even more people become familiar with them. We ask these artists a few questions to see their origins, influences, and more. If you are an awesome artist or know someone that should be featured, feel free to contact me at any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.This month we are very pleased to bring you the awesome art of…

If you're a horror fan of a certain age, R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps" books and the subsequent Ytv television series were formative to your monster kid upbringing. Whether it was thirsting after the new cover illustrated by Tim Jacobus at the Scholastic Book Fair or rushing to get your homework done to be able to watch the newest episode on TV, "Goosebumps" was and continues to be a seminal gateway to the world of all things spooky and scary for young audiences. In 2015, a "Goosebumps" film by Rob Letterman was released featuring Jack Black as a fictionalized version of Stine whose monstrous musings manifest in our real world, and the film performed well enough at the box office to justify a Halloween-themed sequel three years later.
The film and TV series are both loads of fun with plenty of silly scares, but neither live-action adaptation has been able to truly...

Last year, Goosebumps and Fear Street creator R.L. Stine teamed up with Boom Studios for a four-issue limited comic book series called Stuff of Nightmares: The Monster Makers – and the Tpb collection of those issues can be purchased at This Link. This year, Stine and Boom are bringing the horror again with a self-contained comic book called Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder, which is set to reach store shelves on September 27th. Fangoria got the first look at the covers for Red Murder, and you can check them out at the bottom of this article.
Adam Gorham provided the artwork for Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder, which has the following synopsis: Comic creator Alex Oxaca has been out of the spotlight for decades, and he’ll wish he’d remained in obscurity soon enough. A real ax murderer, cosplaying as the titular hatchet-wielding killer in his early 2000’s smash hit series,...

Launched last year, R.L. Stine’s adult horror comic book series Stuff of Nightmares is back this year with Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder, announced by Fangoria this week.
From Boom! Studios, Stuff of Nightmares: Red Murder will be unleashed in September.
In the new terror tale, “Comic creator Alex Oxaca has been out of the spotlight for decades, and he’ll wish he’d remained in obscurity soon enough. A real ax murderer, cosplaying as the titular hatchet-wielding killer in his early 2000’s smash hit series, Red Murder, starts chopping down equally real victims at a horror convention!”
Adam Gorham (The Blue Flame) is handling the art, while Stine pens the story.
“The works of R.L. Stine and illustrations of Goosebumps cover artist Tim Jacobus formed pillars of my pop culture DNA while growing up in 1990’s Canada. Their novels were staples of any school book fair...

The Haunted Mask II was originally published in October 1995 (Spine #36). The series adaptation aired on Tuesday, October 29, 1996 (runtime: 22 minutes and 22 minutes).
Sequels are part and parcel with the horror genre, inescapably ever-present and all but inevitable when any particularly scary, spooky or otherwise strange property manages to profoundly connect with the world upon which it is unleashed.
The Goosebumps franchise was no stranger to sequels, having served up three Monster Bloods, Return of the Mummy and a second Night of the Living Dummy by the time The Haunted Mask II hit shelves. And despite my adoration of all things Goosebumps, it was this late October set sequel that I had been most excited for. The Haunted Mask was one of my favorites and the idea of returning to the land of living faces and Halloween hijinks set my excitement ablaze.
Priming me for the expectation of endless entries in all...

The Werewolf of Fever Swamp was originally published in December 1993 (Spine #14). The series adaptation aired on Friday, May 17, 1996 (runtime: 22 minutes and 26 minutes).
As a kid I was always taught not to judge a book by its cover, but when it came to Goosebumps I did it all the time.
Tim Jacobus’ cover art was a gateway into the story, a textured, colorful window into what terrors might await otherwise unsuspecting readers on the pages within. I snatched up Say Cheese and Die! wanting to know everything I could about the skeletal crew enjoying a family barbecue on its cover. I devoured The Haunted Mask dying to know what the monstrous latex mold clinging to the girl on the paperback might be capable of. The images gripped and took hold in a way that the stories could then build upon and the art felt as intrinsic to the narrative as the...

One Day at Horrorland was originally published in February 1994 (Spine #16). The series adaptation aired on Saturday October 25 & Saturday November 1, 1997 (runtime: 22 minutes).
My eyes glossed over as they watched the trees thin through the car window and give way to seemingly endless stretches of farmland. We had only been driving for a few hours but already I was drifting into the boorish mindlessness that only seemed to settle in on the longest, most meandering family road trips. Still, there was hope on the horizon, the promise of fun, excitement and an escape from the mundane.
After all, what kid doesn’t love an amusement park?
My backpack sat open by my side, creating an all too necessary barrier between my younger brother and I in the backseat. Inside I could just make out the familiar blue-green font bubbling up from the soft purple background and suddenly remembered that I didn’t...

As important as the R.L. Stine-penned stories themselves, the artwork from Tim Jacobus for that original run of Goosebumps books helped moved the terror tales off shelves like hotcakes, and a brand new book headed our way this year will put the spotlight on that classic art. Dynamite Entertainment will release Beware: The Art of Goosebumps on November 30! “Featuring tons […]...

Of all the imaginative and colorful covers created by artist Tim Jacobus for R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series, Ghost Beach is one of the most memorable.
