BTS’s V, fresh off the release of his solo project, has shared his visit to South Korea’s Tiny Desk. Backed by a crew of stellar instrumentalists and vocalists, the jazz-loving member of the septet reimagined three cuts off of Layover. Watch the full episode below.
Filmed in Seoul, V enlisted a drummer, backup vocalists, a saxophone player, a keyboardist, and a handful of other players (most of whom flew in from the US) to round out the backing band of his dreams. They kicked things off with the album’s pre-release single, “Love Me Again,” and followed it up with an extra dreamy live arrangement of the focus track, “Slow Dancing,” after V dedicated some time to introducing the members of the band. (“Slow Dancing” wisely then built in ample time for a saxophone solo.)

V slowed things down for the debut live performance of his recent single “Love Me Again,” an R&b and jazz-influenced record that appears on his full-length solo album Layover. Accompanied by four backing vocalists, the BTS member performed the song on a special episode of Naver’s Npop show, where he also delivered live renditions of “Rainy Days” and “Slow Dancing.”
Each performance was set against a unique backdrop, reflecting the song’s tone. For “Love Me Again,” the artist, born Kim Taehyung, stood among framed photographs in an orange-hued art gallery setting.

V of BTS has unveiled “Love Me Again,” the first single from his upcoming solo album, Layover. Watch the song’s accompanying music video below.
As one of the vocalists of the group, V is known for his rich lower register, and he has a particular penchant for jazz-inspired music. “Love Me Again,” a somewhat lo-fi track, allows V to slide into crooner mode once again.
To contrast the gentle nature of the song, V is decked out in a glam look, performing the track against the dramatic backdrop of a cave. “If you ever regret this, won’t you let me know?/ I’ll be honest with you, put it all out there/ I think you about you all the time,” he sings.
The six-track Layover is due out on September 8th.
V’s solo album will follow projects from BTS bandmates Jungkook, j-hope, Rm, Jimin, Suga, and Jin.

Last March, 25-year-old Kiana Fazeli was at the library studying for the MCATs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., prepping for medical school applications. "I was honestly kind of depressed," she remembers. "It was a very, very lonely time for me."
Then, the YouTube algorithm surfaced a video for Stray Kids, a K-pop group, and a member, whom she now knows as Felix, caught her attention. She wondered: "Who is this handsome fellow?" She started poring over Stray Kids's TikToks and music videos and learning more about the eight-member group. That snowballed into Fazeli getting into BTS after watching their vacation docuseries, "In the Soop [Forest]," and their variety show, "Run BTS."

Thanks to “Boy With Luv,” BTS have continued to make history by releasing the first Korean-language song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The Halsey-featuring track appears on BTS’ 2019 EP Map of the Soul: Persona, and while its the first song sung in Korean to hit the Billions Club, it’s not BTS’ first entry into the Spotify success canon. In 2021, the K-pop group’s cut “Dynamite” earned the distinction, marking the first song by a Korean artist to achieve a billion streams. The following year, their track “Butter” hit the milestone as well.
“Boy With Luv” has always been a successful single. Since premiering in 2019, the song has set three Guinness World Records, including Most Viewed YouTube Video in 24 Hours, Most Viewed YouTube Music Video in 24 Hours, and Most Viewed YouTube Music Video by a K-Pop Group in 24 Hours. What’s more, Map of the Soul: Persona debuted at No.

The members of BTS either attended or performed at the Grammy Awards in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Even though the septet is nominated in three categories at the upcoming 2023 Grammy Awards, there has been no official confirmation that members of the band will be in attendance.

As fans put on the record and relive the hits that made them a lifelong stan, many may wonder about the inspiration behind the closing track, "For Youth."
The song's placement on the album is undoubtedly intentional, as it's dedicated to the the K-pop phenom's avid fanbase. Though the track primarily consists of Korean lyrics, you can check out the English translation of "For Youth" (via Genius) ahead, and read on to learn more about the meaning behind the lyrics.

Most articles written about BTS include at least a mention of the ferocity of its fandom, known as Army. But few attempt to earnestly delve into the reasons behind the devotion held by the millions-strong, multi-generational global fanbase. With The Rise of Bangtan: A Fan-Made Documentary Series, one BTS fan, who also happens to be a professional editor, is attempting to do just that—and she’s absolutely nailing it. Den of Geek talked to The Rise of Bangtan creator Aneesa about what it takes to create the series, the impetus behind the ambitious project, and why BTS is the real deal…

The Rise of Bangtan creator Aneesa first had the idea to create a video project encapsulating what makes BTS special back in 2017, when the Korean band was first starting to garner mainstream attention in the U.S.

China’s leading video streamers iQiyi, Tencent and Alibaba’s Youku are all fierce competitors, but they rallied together Friday to present an unusual united front against rival Bilibili for hosting unauthorized videos of “Friends: The Reunion” illegally on its platform.
The three streamers held the rights to officially broadcast HBO Max’s “Friends” special, which they released in China at 3 p.m. local time on Thursday, May 27. All three cut around six minutes of footage, entirely deleting appearances by musicians BTS, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, as well as LGBTQ fans, among other scenes.
Within hours of the official release, uncensored pirated versions of the show appeared on Bilibili, a platform initially more popular with Gen Z users interested in anime, comics and games (Acg) that has now become more mainstream and comparable to YouTube. Videos there are posted by users, not the platform itself.

The celebrity-packed Friends reunion was conspicuously less star-loaded when it landed in China Thursday. Among the cuts: special appearances by K-pop supergroup BTS, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, as well as brief cameos made by LGBTQ Friends fans.

Yet again, BTS proved they’ve got that superstar glow.
Just after releasing their new single on Friday, BTS graced the Billboard Music Awards with a performance of “Butter.” Broadcasting live, BTS performed remotely from Korea. The group, comprised of Jung Kook, V, Jimin, j-hope, Suga, Jin and Rm, took viewers along to a backstage dressing room and onto a red carpet fitted for the BBMAs.
“Butter,” already primed to be an upcoming summer hit, is the K-pop group’s second English single, right behind last year’s earworm, “Dynamite.” It broke multiple records within the first couple hours of its release. Breaking their own record, “Butter” became the fastest YouTube video ever to reach 10 million views, hitting the mark in just 13 minutes. Within two hours, the song hit No. 1 on Apple Music. A day in, “Butter” logged the most single-day streams of any song ever on Spotify.

If you’re going to learn Korean, why not learn it from K-Pop group BTS? The band has announced they will host 30 language lessons on social media app Weverse beginning March 24th.
Each episode will last three minutes and will focus on Korean grammar and expressions, with a lesson plan for each developed by researchers at the Korean Language Content Institute and Professor Heo Yong of the Department of Korean Education at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The idea emerged after fans asked for the band’s videos to be subtitled in English.

Swift is tied with Ariana Grande for the most nominations this year, with 10 total nods for her single “You Need to Calm Down” in categories including Video of the Year and Song of the Year, and Video For Good. Other top nominees include Billie Eilish with nine nods and Lil Nas X with eight. Kanye West, Cardi B, Halsey, Solange, Drake, Fka Twigs, Lizzo, BTS, Anderson .Paak and Lady Gaga are also nominated.

Bts' Jimmy Kimmel Live domination is about to begin!
The K-pop boy band took the show by storm while filming their performance earlier this month -- and now their episode is about to air! Before Jin, Suga, Rm, Jungkook, V, J-Hope and Jimin make their Jimmy Kimmel Live debut, however, the show will stream four exclusive performances.
