- Edward Wilmot is a scientific consultant, script editor, animator and actor. He was born in London to psychotherapist Vivienne Wilmot and Professor George Wilmot of London University. Edward was originally a doctor in osteopathic medicine and ran a private practice in Surrey, UK. Introduced via a mutual friend to director Shelagh Mcleod, they began the evolution of the project that emerged as Astronaut in 2019. He developed the spaceflight, engineering, geological and medical aspects of this film, this work included considerable engineering CGI animation to plan the dialogue and scene direction. This work was achieved despite moving to Malaysia in 2014. Realising the problems Richard Dreyfuss had encountered with the scientific aspects of the script, Edward sought acting roles to better understand how acting works on a practical level, drawing from his own lifetime but also the experiences of his former patients and students. Appearing blurrily in the background of Crazy Rich Asians, shot in Kuala Lumpur, he progressed to a whole variety of supporting roles in locally produced films, adverts and TV series. This included a comedy role in a video by Malaysian actor and artist Namewee. Edward is consequently a local Malaysian actor but a "one stop shop" scientific consultant with a global reach.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Ed Wilmot
