Interactive ads, ads when you press pause, and shopping direct from adverts are all coming to the Prime Video service.
Since earlier this year, those who don’t give Amazon an extra premium on top of their Prime membership will have noticed some interruptions to their streaming viewing. Amazon has started adding standard advertising to its service, and you need to pay an extra £2.99 to get Prime Video in ad-free form. Some choose to do so, some don’t. No revelation there.
However, Amazon has announced that it’s adding new advertising formats that will take effect in its Prime Video service too, and these might just persuade a few more people to take the £2.99 option.
A post over at Amazon’s advertising site is championing “an expanded suite of new interactive and shoppable ad formats for Prime Video with remote-enabled capabilities for living-room devices.”

After his run with WWE ended, Matt Riddle returned home in many ways to Major League Wrestling. It was a place where the polarizing figure achieved tremendous success as a franchise player when the promotion was revived in 2017. The former UFC fighter turned pro wrestler collected some major wins in a short amount of time including against former champ Jacob Fatu and Davey Boy Smith Jr. With the free spirit spreading his wings once more, he has rededicated himself. His biggest test to date in the company will happen during the War Chamber TrillerTV+ streaming event and TV tapings on March 29 from The Coliseum in St. Petersberg, Florida. It’s when he’ll pull double duty by first putting his New Japan Pro Wrestling TV Championship on the line versus Kosei Fujita and then facing a familiar opponent in Timothy Thatcher. Here Riddle opens up about entering a new phase...

About an hour into the brief and dazzling Bushman, the central character announces, “I need a hamburger,” and then the screen goes black for a few seconds. When the movie resumes, it’s no longer a drama enlivened by a streetwise documentary sensibility, but a work of straight-up nonfiction. Relying on stills in this last stretch but maintaining the visual fluency of the preceding story, the final 10 minutes recount why director David Schickele stopped filming for a year: He was working instead on securing a release from prison for his wrongfully imprisoned leading man.
There are strong parallels between Gabriel, the onscreen outsider, and Paul Eyam Nzie Okpokam, the man who plays him. Both grew up in a Nigerian village. Like Gabriel, Okpokam was a graduate student at San Francisco State College. Schickele’s screenplay was to have ended with Gabriel being deported after falling into trouble with the law.

Taylor Fritz 's 2023 Roland Garros journey bore the seeds of an emotional saga rather than a regular tennis tournament narrative.
A decidedly charged encounter was the backdrop to Fritz's match against French player Arthur Rinderknech on Court Suzanne-Lenglen. The evening air was thick with anticipation, as the home crowd ardently backed their national hero, casting Fritz in the role of a perceived villain for the night.
Despite the vociferous roars and rallying cries, Fritz stayed resolute. His mission was clear: to secure his place in the third round of the French Open and silence the rampant crowd. And in a riveting match, he emerged victorious. But the true spectacle was just beginning to unfold.
His celebration in the face of adversity—pointing at his mouth, asking the crowd for silence, even ironically blowing kisses—did not sit well with the audience. What started as enthusiastic cheering for their home-grown player...

George Riddle, who portrayed the crusty gold prospector turned presidential candidate Joad Cressbeckler on the 2011 IFC comedy The Onion News Network and enjoyed a long run on the stage in The Fantasticks, has died. He was 86.
Riddle died Friday of duodenal cancer in North Plainfield, New Jersey, his longtime friend Christie Wagner told The Hollywood Reporter.
During his 65-year career, the colorful Riddle showed up in such films as Arthur (1981), The Innkeepers (2011) and The Kitchen (2019) and on episodes of shows including The Sopranos and Inside Amy Schumer.
The former circus performer also played Civil War General George Crook in the 1988 telefilm The Trial of Standing Bear, narrated by William Shatner.
On The Onion News Network, Riddle gained a legion of fans with his turn as the irascible, wildly opinionated Cressbeckler, whose predictions and political analysis were peppered with malapropisms and nonsequiturs.

Weston Razooli is far more than just a writer, producer and director. He’s a world-builder, as evidenced by his feature debut, “Riddle of Fire.” The faux-’70s children’s fantasy adventure, which premieres May 20 in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight program, follows three tweens on a quest for ingredients to bake a blueberry pie, all to coax the boys’ mother into letting them play a stolen video game. Danger arrives when they meet the “Enchanted Blade Gang” led by a witch (Lio Tipton). Its deadpan comedy and surreal feel — somewhere between “Escape to Witch Mountain,” “Scooby-Doo” and “Napoleon Dynamite” — make it equally appealing to kids, Gen Xers, stoners, Adult Swim watchers and fans of cult indie cinema.
“There’s this tone that I call a ‘dark ’70s sci-fi fantasy vibe’ in children’s films that get a bit scary, which I think is important for an adventure film,” Razooli says.

Match #1: Shinsuke Nakamura def. The Miz The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Competing in his first Raw match since being drafted by the red brand, Shinsuke Nakamura tangled with The Miz. After settling into the match, The Miz took control, blasting Nakamura with a kick on the outside of the ring. After Nakamura tried to lock up the match with the Kinshasa, The Miz slyly evaded the maneuver, poking Nakamura in the eyes while the referee’s back was turned. The A-Lister landed the Skull-Crushing Finale on The King of Strong Style, but Nakamura wisely put his foot on the ropes. Nakamura then followed up with the Kinshasa for the victory.

Kai would not be spared from Rodriguez’s pain however, as Rodriguez hit Kai with a twisted senton for a close two. After three seasons of being one of the best shows on TV, HBO Max has canceled "South Side." The comedy series centered on community college graduates Simon (Sultan Salahuddin) and Kareme (Kareme Young), two best friends with big dreams of becoming venture capitalists who are stuck working at a rent-to-own shop in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago until they can break into the biz. The cancelation is just the latest in a slew of cancellations from HBO Max, and incredibly frustrating considering the show was originally airing on Comedy Central before HBO Max came knocking. Fans anticipated a longer life for "South Side" with the backing of a giant like Warner Bros. Discovery, but alas, the show seems to be another casualty in the quest for David Zaslav to cut costs.

South Side is coming to an end on HBO Max.
The comedy series from co-creators Bashir Salahuddin, Diallo Riddle and Sultan Salahuddin is not getting a fourth season, a representative for the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed platform told The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
“While HBO Max will not be moving forward with a fourth season of South Side, we are so proud of the rich world Bashir Salahuddin, Diallo Riddle and Sultan Salahuddin created,” the statement read. HBO Max went on to praise the team at MTV Entertainment Studios, which was behind the series, in addition to the “supremely talented” cast and crew.
“For three seasons, this beloved series balanced cutting, hyperlocal social commentary about life on the South Side of Chicago with silly, sometimes zany humor,” the message continued. “The result was a wholly unique, ambitious and fearless comedy that could speak to everyone living the American dream.”

HBO Max declined to pick up a fourth season of South Side, the comedy from Bashir Salahuddin, Diallo Riddle and Sultan Salahuddin.
South Side, which debuted on Comedy Central before moving to HBO Max for Season 2 in November 2021, follows two friends who just graduated from community college and are ready to take over the world, but until they do, they’re stuck working at Rent-t-Own. Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin know that having their own show is an opportunity that neither of them can waste.
The latest proof of their longtime comedic partnership is Season 3 of “South Side,” the hilarious workplace-adjacent comedy that began its life on Comedy Central and now resides on HBO Max. The show follows Rto, an Englewood-area rent-to-own store, as their employees travel through the greater Chicago area, repossessing furniture and getting caught in the wildest, weirdest corners of the city. When Salahuddin’s Officer Goodnight isn’t somehow wrapped up in those same schemes and scuffles, he’s one of the many characters on the show who gets a full (and sometimes very confusing) life away from their job.
One way to juggle all these different people and ideas is to throw as much into the mix as possible. Over the course of a single conversation, Salahuddin and Riddle mentioned...

The attempt backfired, however, as Cross pushed Bayley to the floor, taking out Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky as well. Cross’ banishment of Damage Ctrl led to Belair planting Cross with the K.O.D. for the win. Following the match, Damage Ctrl put the boots to Belair,...

The Riddler: Year One is a unique, even historic comic book event. Not only is it a DC book that functions as a prequel to one of the biggest movies in the year in The Batman, telling the tale of how a put upon, socially awkward accountant eventually becomes a terrifying serial killer and Gotham City villain of note, but it’s written by the actor who played the character himself, Paul Dano. We spoke with Dano about how this book helped him utilize some of the backstory he had created in his mind when formulating his Riddler performance, and you can read that here (or listen to our full interview), but there’s one subtle piece of history tucked away in the book that ties it not only to the very first Riddler story ever, but even the Batman TV series of the 1960s.

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down this week!
Match #1: The O.C. def. Alpha Academy The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After their triumphant return last week, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had their first match back in WWE, facing off against The Alpha Academy. The biggest members of each team in Luke Gallows and Otis collided in the ring, registering high numbers on the Richter scale. Otis continued to play spoiler, stopping The O.C. from hitting the Magic Killer, which lead to a brilliant back-and-forth between Chad Gable and Anderson. Anderson got the upper hand in the exchange, enabling he and Gallows to hit the Magic Killer to seal the win.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai def. Bianca Belair & Candice LeRae The following is courtesy of wwe.

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. This is the “season premiere” for Raw (though it’s never off TV), which means something of a reboot for the show… so let’s see what went down this week!
Match #1: Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the height of a hard-fought, deeply personal matchup against Austin Theory, Johnny Gargano delivered an earth-shattering kick to the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank in WWE history to knock his opponent outside the ring. Then, after charging through the ropes to to follow up with another Ddt onto the ringside floor, Gargano hit one final Ddt in the ring for the three-count.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Rey Mysterio def. Chad Gable The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Welcome to this review of this week’s Monday Night Raw, right here on Nerdly. So let’s get into it and see what went down this week…
Match #1: United States Championship Match – Bobby Lashley def. Seth “Freakin” Rollins The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Bobby Lashley has been defending the United States Championship in stellar matches for nearly two months, and this one was no different. Early in the match, Seth “Freakin” Rollins went for the Stomp, but Lashley shrugged it off by preventing him from fully driving Lashley into the mat. Rollins showcased a magnitude of strength of his own, planting Lashley with the buckle bomb. As Lashley was about to Spear The Visionary out of his boots, Rollins shockingly countered with a wicked Pedigree, earning a close two-count. Matt Riddle suddenly charged the ring and provided a distraction, which allowed Lashley to hit the decisive Spear on Rollins.

Match #1: Finn Bálor def. Matt Riddle The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Seth “Freakin” Rollins declared himself the face of Monday Night Raw, The Judgment Day offered to take on Matt Riddle and provide a new path forward. The Original Bro declined the ominous proposition and kickstarted a match with Finn Bálor. Damian Priest attempted to tip the scales in the match, but some ingenious offense and an assist from Rey Mysterio evened the odds. A final intervention from The Visionary allowed Bálor to line up a Coup de Grace and take home the statement victory for The Judgment Day. After the match, Rollins delivered one final Stomp, hoping to end his rivalry with Riddle for good.
