Rick Dorris
- Actor
Rick was birthed in a fairly small farm town located in the heart of the Central Valley in California, just north of Fresno. Being an only child, Rick loved playing by himself; Hotrod cars, Wonder Woman and often with his He-Man toys. Imagination and fantasy found him during these playtime sessions and took him to places he could only dream of! In 1988 he discovered an entertainer who would change his life, forever; one Miss Reba McEntire. It was Reba who inspired him to venture into a world he hadn't really considered before, acting. In 1991, when Rick needed to pick an elective for his freshman year of high school, he looked to Reba, who had just done "The Gambler Returns" with Kenny Rogers and thought, 'if Reba can do it, I can do it!'
High School drama saved his life; he found success on stage which then translated to greater value and success with his peers off stage. He was able to make them laugh, he suddenly had value in their eyes, something he didn't have before. From 1992-1996 he went on to have roles in The Man Who Came to Dinner and Grease, as well as starring in You Can't Take It With You, M*A*S*H, Harvey and Bye Bye Birdie, along with directing Steel Magnolias. In junior college at Fresno City, his voice appeared as the voice of the Cheshire Cat in "Alice in Wonderland."
