Ryan Dalusung
- Actor
Ryan Dalusung is an American actor born in the Philippine city of Makati and raised in the suburbs of Northern Virginia. They developed a love for acting through D.C. and Baltimore theaters, and through their love of cinema growing up. Primary influences were film actors from different generations and the performers they've collaborated with onstage. Despite a humble career, Ryan's fortunate to have worked with several powerful dramatists, including actor/writers like Colman Domingo at Baltimore's Everyman Theatre, or Kenneth Lin at DC's Arena Stage, for example. Their own approach to acting focuses heavily on natural responses and embracing silent moments.
Ryan first got acquainted with acting while in high school, having been convinced to try theatre by their sister. After appearing in a number of school productions, they decided to pursue a degree in theatre at VCU. Despite attending only a few classes, however, Ryan dropped out to move cross-country to California and stepped away from acting for nearly six years, before returning to pursue theatre classes again at local colleges and professional workshops--realizing the acting bug never left them. Consuming as much contemporary theatre and cinema as possible, Ryan came to embrace their identity as a fringe actor with an outsider's perspective on the art.
They continuously seek to work with and learn from innovative performers in diverse forms of media.
