Abeal Siddiq was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Abeal's first audition was for the role of Hassan in The Kite Runner and his relative wrote the book. Abeal's first job in film was in Oscar nominated Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts at the age of 11. His recent film credits include Line of Descent (2019), starring Oscar winner Brendan Fraser, The Cleansing Hour (2019), and Miami Nights (2024). His grandfather on his mother's side was the Governor of two states in Afghanistan and his great grandfather on his father's side was the Prime Minister of Defense. His parents had to flee their home country during the Soviet-Afghan War and they escaped as refugees, losing everything to the Taliban. Growing up, he was apart of the Gifted and Talented Education Program in the Palos Verdes Peninsula School District. He was an athlete and played as a right back/midfielder for Major League Soccer affiliated Chivas USA Academy and Real Salt Lake Academy. As a teenager, he was invited to join the Afghanistan Men's National Team, the year they won the South Asian Football Federation Championship, and he was offered to play professional soccer in the Middle East. However, his parents forced him to go to college at the University of California, Santa Barbara and he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has studied a variety of acting techniques including Meisner, Stella Adler, UCB Improvisation, Uta Hagen and more. Abeal can speak Dari, Farsi, Arabic, English and Spanish. Abeal's next project includes Mindfield, which is set to begin production in 2024. It will be directed by Sayed Mahdi, produced by 3x Academy Award winning producer Jana Sue Memel, and it is based off a true story. It involves an all Afghan cast, Afghan director, and Abeal will portray an innocent Muslim man who is captured and tortured by Taliban before escaping to the United States of America.
