Chris Young released a new single, “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” incorporating the signature guitar lick from David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.” The track was co-produced by Young with Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano and written by Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, and Josh Thompson. Bowie has been credited as an unlikely writer on the song, as well.

Brothers Osborne live it up every way they can in “Sun Ain’t Even Gone Down Yet,” a bright and boisterous track from their upcoming self-titled album, out September 15.
On the tune, singer Tj Osborne paints a hard-partying picture of drinking hard and living fast over a funky-tonk backdrop of guitars and thwapping drums. Then he and his guitarist brother John join their voices to finish the tableau: “If a cold libation’s any indication, we’re gonna have a hell of a night,” they sing. “The day’s about...

Chris Young had just released the new single “Raised on Country” in January 2019 when he received a text from Joe Diffie. Young, in his drawling Tennessee baritone, name-checks Diffie in the chorus to the genre-referencing song, crediting the “John Deere Green” singer with giving him his “honky-tonk attitude.”
Diffie was texting to thank Young for the gesture of respect and for shining a light on his legacy. A little over a year later, Diffie died from Covid-19. It was a tragic loss not just to country music but to Chris Young’s very being.

Florida Georgia Line performed their recent single “Long Live” on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, February 16th.
The country duo and their backing band breezed through the mid-tempo ode to all of life’s simple pleasures, with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley coming together on the chorus to sing in harmony: “Long live all the small towners, sunup to sundowners/That old-school Haggard and Hank/Long live longneck bottles and wide-open throttles/And old dirt roads with no name.”
Florida Georgia Line released “Long Live” as a single last September.

On Thursday, President-elect Joe Biden outlined a stimulus plan that included, among other things, increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. Later the same night, Blake Shelton’s auspiciously titled new song “Minimum Wage” was released to the public — not surprisingly, it doesn’t attempt to unpack the vital issue of income inequality in America.

Florida Georgia Line have released the song “New Truck” as the latest offering from their upcoming album Life Rolls On.
Written with five additional co-writers including Priscilla Renea and Corey Crowder, the track finds the duo in familiar territory: singing about the deluxe features (“peanut butter leather kangaroo hide grip”) on their new Chevy Silverado. “Got some alligator skin on my Silverado interior/And TV’s on the headrest,” Hubbard sings during the song’s very Pimp My Ride first verse.

Chris Young and Kane Brown team up for a new track that highlights the country singers’ real-life friendship and Tennessee roots. Titled “Famous Friends,” the track is Young’s latest release from an upcoming album project.
Written by Young with Cary Barlowe and Corey Crowder, the guitar-driven tune plays up both artists’ small-town bona fides with mentions of Rutherford and Hamilton counties — Young and Brown’s respective home areas. The basic idea is one of every person having a degree of small-town renown, with both Young and Brown praising a few of their pals’ accomplishments.

Kane Brown gets adventurous with Experiment, the upcoming follow-up to the singer-songwriter’s self-titled 2016 debut.
According to USA Today, Experiment finds Brown working once again with Dann Huff, the producer and longtime guitar hero who helped turn Brown’s self-titled release into a platinum-selling success. Due out November 9th, Experiment picks up where that album left off, building a Millennial-approved country sound out of R&B swagger, pop polish and the supercharged, amplified guitars of modern rock. “Lose It,” the album’s first single, was introduced earlier this summer, while a new track,...
