FBI agent who cracked the 1950 Brink's robbery in Boston. In January 1956, just five days before the six-year statute of limitations on the $1.2 million holdup would have expired, Mr. Powers persuaded Joseph (Specs) O'Keefe, one of the 11 participants in what was then the largest cash heist in US history, to turn state's evidence. Mr. Powers was agent in charge of the Boston FBI office from 1954 to 1957.
