Lifetime is expanding its Harry & Meghan Creative Universe to air a third movie about the embattled royal couple.
In the wake of Oprah Winfrey’s blockbuster interview with the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Lifetime has greenlighted “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” which promises to “reveal what ultimately lead to the couple’s break from the royal family.”
The new film is the follow-up to Lifetime’s 2018 entry “Harry & Meghan,” which chronicled the newlyweds’ love story, and 2019’s “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal,” which looked at their experiences inside the Royal Family during their first year of marriage.
Lifetime is now billing the three movies as their “Harry & Meghan” movie franchise trilogy. Casting is currently underway for the “Escaping the Palace,” and production will begin this spring, with an airdate eyed for fall.

If there's anything we all need in the insanity that is today's world, it's a sequel to Lifetime's Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.
The lengthy feature film premiered May 13, 2018 (six days before the couple tied the knot at Windsor Castle), and gave us a fictional version of the royal couple's real-life love story, focusing on how they met and fell in love. We absolutely didn't need it, but fans gleefully enjoyed the film nonetheless. It definitely helps that the film's Harry and Meghan look eerily similar to the royals they were portraying, even if we can't say the same for some of the other cast members . . .
The network announced the film's sequel with the working title Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal during the Television Critics Association tour on Sunday, Feb. 10. According to a press release, the sequel will tell the story of Meghan and Prince Harry during their first year of marriage,...

Lifetime is heading back across the pond: The network has ordered Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal (working title), a follow-up movie to last year’s A Royal Romance, which starred Murray Fraser (Victoria) and Parisa Fitz-Henley (Midnight, Texas).
The sequel — which will recast its two leads due to “availability” issues — “continues the love story of newlyweds Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, pulling back the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the royal family during their pivotal first year of marriage,” per Lifetime.
Becoming Royal is slated to air this spring.

As the cable portion of the Television Critics Assn. press tour continued, A&E looked ahead about a year to the next season of “Knightfall,” while Epix brought two big dramas set to premiere in the summer of 2019: “Pennyworth,” based on DC Comics characters, and the Ben Kingsley starrer “Perpetual Grace, Ltd.” Lifetime brought together the female directors of a number of their original movies for a rare peak behind the curtain, and National Geographic ended the day with a combination of factual programming such as the feature documentary “Science Fair” and Bear Grylls’ “Hostile Planet” and fiction, with the limited series adaptation of “The Hot Zone,” starring Julianna Margulies.

Relive the royal love story that captured the world’s attention when Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romancearrives on DVD October 16 from Lionsgate. A fairy tale come to life, this film follows the relationship — from blind date to romantic engagement — of England’s Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. Directed by Menhaj Huda (TV’s “The Royals”) and starring Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $9.98.
Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance is undeniably a story of love conquering all. Prince Harry, consistently seen in the tabloids, is infamous for his bad-boy persona. Television star Meghan — ambitious, outspoken, and divorced, along with having a tumultuous relationship with her sister — doesn’t appear to be “princess material.” After their blind date, Harry and Meghan quickly realize they are kindred spirits. A whirlwind romance ensues and, despite a few missteps,...

At long last, Lifetime blessed us all with Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle movie none of us needed but desperately wanted. The film, which premiered on Sunday, clocks in at two and a half hours, which means there's plenty of time to include the most important aspects of the pair's lives: a run-in with a lion that may or may not harbor the spirit of the late Princess Diana, an ill-fated Halloween party, some cheap shots at Prince William's hair (or lack thereof), and a picture-perfect re-creation of the real-life couple's stunning engagement photos.
A Royal Romance could not have cast a better Harry and Meghan, played by Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley, while the same can't exactly be said of the rest of the actors on board (*cough* Prince William *cough*). Still, the fictional version of their love story will make you laugh,...

In case you somehow missed it, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have gotten the Lifetime treatment. On Sunday, the network brought us Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, and the casting for the two actors who played the leads was spot-on. Both Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser, who respectively play Markle and Prince Harry, are (relatively) new to the Hollywood limelight, so we figure a proper introduction is in order. Take a look at the stars and the real-life subjects!

The story of how a prince fell in love with an actor is brought to life in a guilty pleasure – a cliche-packed TV movie that is as sweet as it is silly
On her first blind date with Prince Harry (Murray Fraser), Meghan Markle (Parisa Fitz-Henley) downs a dirty martini, forces the fifth – now sixth – heir to the British throne to grovel for being late, and admits her feel-good flick is Love Actually. His is The Lion King, and if you mix their favorites together with a stiff pour of violins and a tabloid swizzle-stick, the concoction would be Menhaj Huda’s highly quotable Lifetime movie Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, a brain-numbing charmer best consumed in a group, or guiltily alone.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the end of “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.” A non-spoilery review is also available on IndieWire.]
Admittedly, information on historical figures can’t necessarily be spoiled in the traditional sense when it comes to movies and TV. But in the case of the Lifetime movie “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance,” its portrayal of the royal couple hews so closely to reality that some scenes that take storytelling license may be mistaken for fact.
This is the case later in the movie when actress and women’s rights activist Meghan Markle (Parisa Fitz-Henley) finally gets invited by her fiancé Prince Harry (Murray Fraser) to meet his gran, aka Queen Elizabeth II (Maggie Sullivun). After drinking tea and petting corgis, the Queen takes them to look at a portrait of Queen Charlotte.

Sooo raise your hand if you cried a little. Lifetime just debuted Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, a movie documenting the relationship of Prince Harry (Murray Fraser) and Meghan Markle (Parisa Fitz-Henley), and we honestly couldn't think of a better way to prepare ourselves for next week's royal wedding. Sure, not everything was totally accurate (we'll get to that in a moment) and most conversations had to be completely made up, but we truly feel as if we just watched the real prince of England fall in love with a cool feminist actress from California. Tears were in our eyes when the credits rolled and footage of the real Harry and Meghan popped up on screen. Yes, this...

While we're still a week away from the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, we don't have to wait that long to watch their love story play out on TV. Tonight, Lifetime debuts its latest original movie, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, which chronicles Harry and Meghan's relationship starting with the time they first met on a blind date. Given that the prince and the Suits actress are two of the most popular public figures right now, there was quite a bit of pressure on stars Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser to get the pair right. "For me, it wasn't an easy decision to take on this role," Fraser tells E! News. "I think it was 'cause of who they are and who...

In Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lifetime found the perfect couple to blend what the channel does best: pop culture biopics and happily ever after rom-coms. Not since six years ago with Prince William and so-called “commoner” Kate Middleton has such a ripe, real-life story presented itself for adaptation. In the case of the new couple, however, specific details about Markle’s identity add narrative spice to the princess fairy tale: She is a divorced American actress who happens to be biracial.
All of those points are brought up in “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance,” a brisk and diverting two-plus hours that captures the imagined flavor of the couple’s whirlwind romance with wit and a refreshing amount of candidness about socio-political issues. Despite the romance trappings, this is where the movie leans more into the biopic side, because Markle’s very identity is political in nature. As a...

A royal wedding in England is always a big deal, combining the history of the country with the pomp and spectacle of the trappings from the wedding gown to the guests’ outrageous hats.
While the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is of global interest, Americans are particularly intrigued by one of our own becoming royalty. It’s Grace Kelly for a new generation, and the fact that Markle is also biracial lends additional meaning to her high-profile status.
It’s been six years since the last royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, and TV programming and streaming technology has come a long way since then. The elder prince’s big day drew an estimated 3 billion pairs of eyes worldwide, with 23 million coming from the States.
