Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, revealed that his ex-client was highly confident that he could replace Melania Trump if she discovered he had an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels.
During court testimony on Tuesday, Cohen made this claim as he testified on the witness stand during Trump’s New York hush money trial.
During his testimony, Cohen was asked about how the former president reacted when he found out Daniels was shopping around her story about him less than a month before Election Day in 2016.
Cohen recounted that when they had been dealing with the possibility that the former adult star could go public, he asked his ex-client how things had been going “upstairs” with Melania, to which Trump implied that he would not be single long after.
“‘Don’t worry,’ he goes, ‘how long do you think I’ll be on the market for,'” Trump allegedly said to Cohen.

In court testimony on Monday, Michael Cohen, the former attorney and key witness in the Manhattan trial against Donald Trump, claimed that Melania Trump, then-candidate Trump’s wife in 2016, referred to his controversial comments on the infamous Access Hollywood tape as “locker room talk” after it leaked before the election.
Cohen, who played a pivotal role in Trump’s alleged hush money scheme, stated that he became aware of the tape, which features Trump making inappropriate remarks about touching women without their consent, when he received a call from the campaign’s press secretary, Hope Hicks, during the 2016 campaign.
The former president’s ex-fixer expressed concern about the tape and promptly sent emails to the campaign manager at the time, Steve Bannon, to safeguard Trump’s interests.
After multiple conversations with Trump and other campaign staff members, Cohen revealed that there was a concerted effort to “spin” the narrative around the tape.

Donald Trump’s former executive assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, broke down crying on the witness stand while she was testifying in his New York hush money trial. On Thursday, Westerhout, a Trump loyalist, was called to the stand.
Westerhout was forced out of the Trump administration for revealing personal information about Trump’s family to the press.
Westerhout was fired from the White House after allegedly bragged to journalists at an off-the-record dinner that she had a better relationship with Trump than his daughters, Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump Boulos.
She told journalists that the former president disliked being photographed with Tiffany because he viewed her as overweight. On August 30, 2019, she formally resigned as the former president’s executive assistant.
When the prosecution had asked the former executive assistant about the dinner with reporters, she began crying while talking about her “youthful indiscretion.”

Judge Juan Merchan, who oversees former President Donald Trump‘s hush-money case, found him guilty of violating his gag order for the 10th time. On Monday, Mechan ordered Trump to pay a fine of $1,000 for verbally attacking the jury in his criminal trial.
Trump’s gag order prohibits the former president from insulting witnesses, jurors, prosecutors, court staff or the judge’s family. However, the order does not bar Trump from attacking Merchan or Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg. Trump has pushed back on the gag order, citing a violation of his First Amendment rights.
For each of the ten violations, Trump must pay $1,000, for a total of $10,000. Prosecutors stated they delayed giving Trump jail time to “minimize disruptions” to the trial.
“Your continued violations constitute a direct attack on the rule of law,” Merchan stated.

Former White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews said she would not vote for her former boss, Donald Trump, because she feels he will not uphold the U.S. Constitution if he is reelected.
Matthews made these comments during an interview on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki.
“What goes through your head when you see people who clearly know better defending Trump, as they just did,” Psaki asked the former White House deputy press secretary.
“Yeah, it’s really frustrating ’cause, as you noted, some of the things they’ve said publicly about Donald Trump are horrible, and then they’re going on and endorsing him,” Matthews responded.
“So, I can only imagine the things that they say privately,” she added. “I’ve talked with a lot of Republicans, high-up elected officials, and things like that, who will bash him privately, but many of them will not even say it publicly.

Here’s a little observation, bordering on an axiom, which has slowly developed over the years—as in, approximately half a century:
When Saturday Night Live returns from a hiatus, the first show back struggles to find both its rhythm and sketches that are well conceived and consistently funny.
SNL’s return last night carried with it a special challenge, because the last show before the break, hosted by Ryan Gosling, was arguably the funniest of the season, with one sketch, the Beavis and Butthead unaware look-a-likes, now the most-viewed clip of the current season.
And so, when the cold open tiptoed into risky territory, trying to find a way to get laughs out of the divisive and decidedly unfunny protests against the war in Gaza, a familiar sense of “oh it’s that hiatus issue” set in.
It even seemed as though the writers were sending a signal about...

On Friday, former White House press secretary and director of communications Hope Hicks delivered a powerful testimony against former President Donald Trump. On the third week of Trump’s Manhattan hush-money trial, Hicks became a key witness. The announcement of Hicks’ appearance stirred a whispers in the courtroom.
Hicks, 35, sat in the witness box and kept her eyes away from Trump. Not once did she look at her former boss, and she went into detail about his numerous scandals. Trump himself appeared indifferent during Hicks’ testimony, though the former president was seen whispering to his lawyer Todd Blanche.
Hicks was visibly nervous on the stand but still delivered a concise, three-hour testimony. She spoke positively about her career in the White House, praising the Trump family, before moving into Trump’s legal issues. Hicks discussed Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood clip where he talked about grabbing women’s genitals and the Stormy Daniels hush-money situation.

Prosecutors Play Recording Of Donald Trump And Michael Cohen Discussing Hush Money Payments — Update
Update: Jurors today heard a recording in which Donald Trump and his then-lawyer and “fixer,” Michael Cohen, discuss payments to Karen McDougal, the former Playboy model who claimed to have had an affair with The Apprentice host.
The recording was made by Cohen in September of 2016 — and first reported on by CNN in 2018. In it, Trump and Cohen discussed buying the rights to McDougal’s story.
“I need to open up a company for the transfer of all of that info regarding our friend David,” Cohen said, referring to David Pecker, then-ceo of American Media, the tabloid publisher that bought McDougal’s story for $150,000 with the intention of burying it.
When Cohen turned to the subject of “financing,” Trump asked, “What financing?”
“We’ll have to pay,” Cohen said. It wasn’t clear from the garbled audio at that point whether Trump agreed. Pecker, a prosecution witness last week, said...

Update: National Enquirer Publisher David Pecker, on the witness stand today in Donald Trump’s hush money trial, detailed the tens of thousands of dollars the tabloid shelled out to “catch and kill” potentially embarrassing stories during the 2016 presidential election campaign.
Pecker, who counted Trump as a friend and an asset, told jurors of paying $30,000 to bury an “untrue” claim that The Apprentice host had fathered a child out of wedlock. Pecker made clear to jurors that the purpose of the payment was to protect Trump and his 2016 GOP presidential campaign from “potential embarrassment.”
With Trump looking on, the former CEO of National Enquirer parent company American Media (Ami), testified that in 2016 he bought exclusive rights to — and then killed — the story being shopped by a Trump Tower doorman in New York who claimed the real estate mogul had a child with his housekeeper. Pecker said that when he told Trump’s personal lawyer,...

Update: The January 6th Committee recommended that the Justice Department pursue four criminal charges against former President Donald Trump along with others they claim helped orchestrate an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The charges include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to make a false statement and inciting, assisting or giving aid or comfort to an insurrection.
It will be up to the Justice Department to decide whether to file charges, but the move is the first time that a former president has faced a criminal referral such as this one.
Rep,. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who outlined the recommendations, also named for potential prosecution John Eastman, the college professor who pushed an effort to install “fake” electors in advance of the joint session of Congress to certify the election results.

Mehmet Oz leads David McCormick by barely 2,000 votes after Tuesday’s primary, putting the quack TV doctor who landed Trump’s endorsement early last month up by around 0.2 percentage points over the well-funded, establishment-backed businessman. The race heads to a recount if the margin winds up being smaller than 0.5 percentage points. The winner will take on John Fetterman, who demolished Rep. Conor Lamb in the the Democratic primary on Tuesday.

Hope Hicks, one of President Trump’s longtime advisers and former Fox. Corp. communications chief, has departed the White House, according to CNN. Her last day was reportedly Tuesday.
Reports of her pending exit first emerged on Jan. 8. Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs, citing sources familiar with the matter, noted that Hicks had told colleagues the upcoming exit did not stem from the violent insurrection by pro-Trump extremists at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, but as part of a previously planned departure, given the end of Trump’s term after losing his bid for re-election.
Hicks did not respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
After departing her post at the White House – for the first time – as communications director in 2018, Hicks had a brief, year-long foray in Hollywood circles, moving to Los Angeles and joining Fox Corp. as executive vice president and chief communications officer in early 2019. She boarded...

America broke another record for new coronavirus cases Friday and one of the new infections is the White House Chief of Staff: Mark Meadows has tested positive for Covid-19, a source close to the administration confirmed to Deadline.
Numerous other media outlets also confirmed the Bloomberg scoop on the former North Carolina congressman’s health. Meadows reportedly told his staff of his condition today. One of his close aides is said to have also tested positive.
As the nation awaits the final voters to be counted in an election that looks to have denied Donald Trump’s re-election aims, America had just over 128,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases on November 6. That shatters the previous record of around 121,000 set the day before. Today is only the third time the U.S. topped 100,000 new cases in one day in a week that has seen the three worst days yet of the coronavirus stateside.

Surprising no one, the latest edition of “SNL” began with a parody of the week’s most talked-about politics moment, the dueling
town halls by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Obviously, the cold open sketch featured an appearance by Jim Carrey as Biden, joined by Alec Baldwin once again playing Trump.
The joke: They presented the debates as they presumably were watched by a great many people — clicking back and forth between them. And of course, the sketch did a lot of celebrating on behalf of Trump town hall moderator Savannah Guthrie, who was widely praised for defying expectations and giving Trump real pushback, by imagining that the event turned into a Wrestlemania-style fight.
Also on hand were “SNL” cast members Mikey Day as George Stephanopoulos, who moderated the Biden town hall on ABC, and Kate McKinnon as Guthrie — and yes, they found a way to squeeze...

James Corden took aim at Donald Trump and parodied Paul McCartney for a new song “Maybe I’m Immune” on The Late Late Show Tuesday.
Putting a Covid-19 spin on McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed” from his 1970 self-titled solo debut, Corden sat at the piano and broke into song about the President and his dismissal of Covid-19.
“Maybe I’m a man/Maybe I don’t wear a mask ’cause I don’t care about others/Science I don’t really understand,” he sang — with the President’s doctors appearing on a screen.

Stephen Miller, a top aide to President Donald Trump, has tested positive for the coronavirus, becoming the latest White House official to be infected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Multiple news outlets reported that Miller tested positive on Tuesday after being negative in recent days.
Trump returned to the White House on Tuesday after spending four days in Walter Reed Military Medical Center to treat symptoms from the virus.
Brian Morgenstern, deputy White House press secretary, said on CNN that Miller was working remotely as well others who have contracted the virus, including Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Trump announced early on Friday morning that he had contracted the virus along with First Lady Melania Trump, just hours after Bloomberg News broke the story that Hope Hicks, one of his top advisers, had tested positive. Other figures who have recently visited the White House, including former adviser Kellyanne Conway and former Gov.

President Trump returned to the White House on Monday after spending the weekend at Walter Reed Medical Center following his positive Covid-19 diagnosis. Though the president tweeted Tuesday that he’s “Feeling Great,” his health status remains a mystery, and a growing number of people he’s been in contact with directly or indirectly have either tested positive or entered quarantine. This shouldn’t be surprising considering Trump’s movements in the days prior to his positive diagnosis.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that she has tested positive for the coronavirus.
She said that she tested positive on Monday after being negative every day since Thursday. She said that she has been experiencing no symptoms.
“With my recent positive test I will begin the quarantine process and will continue working on behalf of the American people remotely,” she said in a statement.
McEnany is just the latest White House official to test positive, after news broke on Thursday that Hope Hicks, one of President Donald Trump’s top aides, contracted the virus. Hours later, Trump said that he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive.
Trump has been at Walter Reed Military Medical Center since Friday. White House officials initially said that he was experiencing “mild symptoms” on Friday morning, but he experienced a drop in oxygen levels that were concerning, and the decision was made that he would be hospitalized.

“Late Week Tonight With John Oliver” returned for a new episode on HBO this week, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, Oliver opened the episode with a discussion about Donald Trump’s Covid-19 diagnosis and the resulting fallout.
“It was news that felt both shocking and utterly inevitable. Especially given that just three days earlier he’d stood on a debate stage and when asked about whether he’d downplayed the efficacy of masks, said this,” Oliver said, before the show played the clip of Trump heckling Joe Biden for wearing a mask in public.
Oliver continued: “Biden wears a mask in situations where it’s dangerous not to. I can only imagine what Trump would be like standing next to a beekeeper. ‘I don’t wear a beekeeper suit like him. Every time you see him he’s wearing a beekeeper suit. Not me, because I’m smart and strong.

At the top of tonight’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver quickly admitted that there is so much to unpack from this week that there is no time to talk about Trump’s taxes, the catostrophic debate or how Melania Trump basically said, as he put it “f*ck Christmas”. The first thing Emmy-award winning host wanted to talk about was what the world is talking about: Trump get testing positive for coronavirus, which he said is “shocking” but also “utterly inevitable”.
“Obviously, the president having coronavirus is a very big deal,” said Oliver adding that the White House has handled the whole situation terribly. The news only came out after one of Trump’s closest aides Hope Hicks tested positive. This prompted us to ask questions when Trump had been exposed and what he had done about it. Update 10/4/2020: Joe Biden, 77, has tested negative for the coronavirus for the third time since Tuesday’s debate. The Democratic nominee’s campaign has committed to releasing the results of all future Covid-19 tests. Biden is not yet in the clear, however, because most people incubate the virus for two to 14 days before testing positive or showing symptoms, and studies suggest that people may be most likely to spread the virus during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.

“We thought it was important to see it again, since it might be the only presidential debate,” the white copy on a black background added with a voiceover and laughter. “And it was pretty fun to watch as long as you don’t live in America.”
