International K-Drama Day: From The Glory 2 To Moving Top 10 Must-Watch Korean Shows Of 2023 ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Korean dramas have provided a safe and comforting space to the audience over the years. Contrary to popular belief, K-dramas are not just about cliched romantic comedies, though there is nothing wrong with that, but also teach us many life lessons along the way. If K-fanatics are to be believed, 2023 has proved to be one fruitful year, with many heartwarming shows providing a feeling of contentment this year.
While K-dramas have been around for quite some time now, it wasn’t until a few years ago that Netflix, Viki, Disney+ Hotstar, and Prime Videos, among other streaming spaces, began streaming Korean shows, opening up a new dimension for global viewers. In 2023, all of these Ott giants have done a commendable job of delivering some top-notch K-dramas that have managed to swoon every drama lover out there.

A film about a primitive man, born as a bear, perhaps appropriately has some pretty primitive filmmaking. With Na Woong-nam (Park Sung-woong) born in 1997, on eating garlic he becomes human, as with the Danggun myth. And 1997 feels where this film belongs, in what is a fairly simplistic action comedy, rooted in the last century.
Bear Man is screening at New York Asian Film Festival
Woong-nam is discovered by Bok-cheon (Oh Dal-su) and Kyung-sook (Yeom Hye-ran), and the couple adopt him as their own son. Now twenty-five, his keen senses have earned him a place in the police force, but his lack of wit and concentration see him lose this role. He, therefore, has little more to spend his time than feature in friend Mal-bong's (Lee Yi-kyung) aspiring YouTube videos. But similar bear-child Lee Yung-hak (also Park), a mob boss' muscle, is caught in the act and becomes a wanted man.

2022 has been the year of Korean actors making their directorial debuts. But where Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung decided to debut with their own action features, actress Lee Joo-young, best known for her excellent work in small indie films like “Maggie” or “Baseball Girl” makes her debut with a similarly small but charming short film “Leave at Door, Bell X”.
Leave at Door, Bell X is screening at Osaka Asian Film Festival
Ji-ho spends more than she should to buy a used bike, with the aim of working as a food delivery rider. One night, she picks up a delivery and misdelivers it to the wrong address, and every step she takes through the night to rectify her mistake just ends up in more delays, less money earned and lower ratings for her.

The Glory (Deo Geulloli) is a South Korean series directed by Gil Ho Ahn and starring Song Hye-kyo.
The second part of The Glory has arrived, new episodes of this new and surprising Netflix series, dark and well made. It deserves a chance, we can assure you of that much.
La Gloria is a tale of revenge: many years after being assaulted at school, a woman seeks to make the guilty pay for their crimes.
No lightness of plot, a series that seeks a balance between realism and a very cinematic formulation, with good editing, effects and very polished with regard to the shots and acting. This is not an “easy” series, it has an elaborate structure and has a whole aesthetic composition, an elaborate sense of rhythm, and knows how to narrate the fierce world of its protagonist between the sensitivity and her savage, vengeful spirit.

"I hope that you still want to see me dance, Yeon-jin." Revenge is always intense!! Netflix has revealed a new official trailer for Part 2 of their streaming series The Glory from Korea. Part 1 of this series is already streaming, it launched in late December a few weeks ago. This almost sounds like one of Park Chan-wook's revenge movies. A young woman, bullied to the point of deciding to drop out of school, plans the best way to get revenge. After becoming a primary school teacher, she takes in the son of the man who tormented her the most to enact her vengeance. "From now on, every single day will be a nightmare. They’ll be provocative and terrifying. You can't stop me or make me disappear." Starring Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il. Seems like it's almost a cathartic revenge story, about...

Leading Korean actor Song Hye-kyo leads the cast of “The Glory,” a Netflix drama delivering a female-led tale of delicate and long-gestating vengeance, that uploads from the end of the month.
Song portrays a woman who was bullied at school, but who has carefully nurtured her grudges deep into adulthood. Her schemes for revenge against the perpetrators include exposing and turning the daily life of one of her newly-married classmates into a constant nightmare.
The show is directed by An Gil-ho and written by Kim Eun-sook, whose previous credits include the gentler “Heirs” and the Song-starring hit romantic drama “Descendants of the Sun.” “There is no logic behind Yeon-jin’s evil-doing, nor any romanticization of her actions,” said Kim in supplied quotes. “I want ‘The Glory’ to be remembered like a breath-taking sword dance.”

Leading Korean film and TV star Song Hye-kyo will head the cast of “The Glory,” an epic revenge drama series being produced for Netflix.
The series is a change of direction for Kim Eun-sook, a screenwriter billed as the queen of Korean romance.
The project is also a reunion of sorts for the pair. Six years ago, Song starred in the Kim-penned “Descendants of the Sun” a lush Kbs series about a war-time romance between an army surgeon and a special forces office that also played on Netflix.
In “The Glory” Song portrays a woman who is extracting revenge on a group of school bullies who destroyed her childhood and the bystanders who failed to prevent the trauma.
Song has been a mainstay of Korean TV dram series including “That Winter The Wind Blows” “Full House” and “Encounter,” as well as internationally-produced movies including Wong Kar-wai’s “The Grandmaster” and...
