Dr. Allen Dobrovolsky embarked on his scientific journey delving into the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.
Establishing a respected consulting firm accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) in 2003, he later turned his focus to the natural splendor of Australia, particularly the Great Barrier Reef. Conducting comprehensive water quality evaluations since 2014, Dr. Dobrovolsky's efforts gained traction as he enlisted a team of filmmakers to document the reef's plight. Their interviews with leading marine scientists, locals, activists, and indigenous leaders shed light on the reef's challenges exacerbated by port developments.
Driven by a mission to raise awareness, Dr. Dobrovolsky founded AESA Films in 2017, producing the acclaimed documentary "Murder on the Reef" (2018) showcased in 15 countries and earning 16 Best Documentary Film awards. The film poignantly reflects on human nature's conflict with environmental preservation, urging action for the greater good.
Dr. Dobrovolsky unveiled his latest documentary titled "Chernobyl - A Bomb That Keeps Ticking" (2024), chronicling his research within the Exclusion Zone surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant dating back to the 1980s. Returning to the Zone in 2022, he made alarming discoveries of toxic water posing a threat to millions. His investigation also revealed buried houses leaking radioactive substances downstream. Amidst escalating tensions, including Russian invasion and the specter of nuclear conflict, Dr. Dobrovolsky witnessed soldiers excavating trenches within the irradiated Exclusion Zone. Subsequently, the Russian forces withdrew, abandoning their irradiated troops to a grim fate.
