Disney’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is expected to cross the $900 million mark at the domestic box office on Friday — extending its U.S. record over “Avatar” by $140 million.
The seventh “Star Wars” film is also set to reach $2 billion worldwide on Saturday, becoming only the third film ever to do so. It joins “Avatar” at $2.78 billion and “Titanic” at $2.19 billion.
