Claymation legends Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham will offer stop-motion fans a sneak peek at their upcoming Wallace & Gromit film at this year’s Annecy animation festival.
The still-untitled feature will see inveterate, cheese-loving inventor Wallace designing a “smart gnome” for the family garden who begins to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it is up to faithful dog Gromit to put things right. Park and Crossingham co-directed the film, based on a story by Park and a screenplay from Shaun the Sheep and Gnomeo & Juliet writer Mark Burton.
The film, which will premiere on Netflix worldwide outside the U.K., where it will have a first-release window on the BBC, is the second feature from Aardman Animations based on the beloved characters, following the Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) and the series of award-winning shorts, including Oscar-winners The Wrong...

Former HGTV star Charles “Todd” Hill has been sentenced to four years in the Santa Clara County jail for committing real estate and financial fraud against multiple victims. Hill, 58, who appeared on the 2014 reality competition show Flip It to Win It, was also ordered to pay back nearly $10 million to the 11 victims of his fraudulent schemes. According to a press release from the Santa Clara County’s Office of the District Attorney, instead of buying dilapidated homes, fixing them up, and selling them for a profit, the HGTV alum spent millions on “over budget remodels, laundered profits, and pocketed millions in fraudulently obtained money.” Evidence revealed that Hill spent the laundered money on a rented apartment in San Francisco, as well as luxury items such as hotels, vacations, and cars. He was also found to have diverted construction money for his personal use. “Some see the huge amount of money...

When last we saw Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) in the Apple TV+ comedy series “Trying,” the couple was trying to pull off a reverse shotgun wedding — well, sort of. The long-term partners decided they finally wanted to get married, but rather than get hitched before people knew they were pregnant, they wanted to tie the knot before their kids were taken away from them. Luckily, Nikki and Jason won their court case against their adopted children’s biological grandmother, and with that out of the way, all their worries were over.
Ok, not quite. “Trying” takes a warts-and-all approach to parenthood (if not life in general), so there will always be concerns, big and small, for the family to deal with — the key is sticking together, no matter how trying things get. Season 4 brings a fresh set of family matters, as the story jumps six years into...

Comedian Ray Ellin remembers watching Little House on the Prairie from an early age and being captivated by the Ingalls family adventures in Walnut Grove. His love of the American western drama only grew stronger as a teenager into adulthood when the series landed in syndication. Ray Ellin “The show has a bit of everything; drama, suspense, love, villains, action, occasionally comedy,” Ellin said. “I liked watching both the caring, healthy families, as well as the dysfunctional ones.” “They were constantly overcoming adversity, and I think as a kid I found that intriguing. It’s fun watching the bad guy, but it was also good to watch people come together either as a family or community. And as a kid, seeing the strong kids defend the weak ones felt good to watch.” Ellin turned this devotion into a weekly podcast Wild Nights on the Prairie with Ray Ellin. The show...

Barbara Walters was one of the most influential people to ever hit the American airwaves, but her story was more complex than just being a trailblazer of network news. Hitting shelves on Tuesday, April 23, is Susan Page’s The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters, a biography chronicling her entire life and career. The book is rich with details about what made Walters tick even as a child and how cutthroat she could be when it came to protecting her hardwon place atop ABC News. There are a lot of details in the book that are uplifting, saddening, and downright shocking. Here we’ll outline a few of the most surprising things we learned about Barbara Walters from The Rulebreaker. Jon Stewart surprised his audience and viewers at home Monday when his critique of recent over-the-top cable news coverage of the Trump Trial was interrupted by former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams.
“Jessica! How are you? Are you down at the courthouse to give us a report?”
“Uh, yeah, I am,” replied Williams. And here’s my report: Jon Stewart hates fun.”
Stewart, who struggled to keep it together during Williams’ appearance Monday night seemed genuinely tickled to be working with her again. The two appeared to go off-script at least a couple times, with Stewart at one point exclaiming “I’ve missed you terribly,” and Williams saying the same.
The former correspondent sang Stewart’s praises in a 2023 interview with People Magazine in which she called him “one of the best bosses ever.”

Sadly, we’re going to be saying goodbye to our favorite CSIs in the Las Vegas Crime Lab once again: CSI: Vegas will not be returning for a fourth season. The third season was a shorter one, and so that played into the way these 10 episodes unfold, as showrunner Jason Tracey told TV Insider in February. “We’ve got two pretty tight serialized arcs that are kind of unfolding,” he’d said at the time, and that likely ruled out any cameos from past CSI shows as well as returning to past cases (including something like Silver Ink from Vegas Season 2). But hey, at least we have Marg Helgenberger for her second season reprising her role of Catherine from the original CSI. Now that we know there are only four episodes left of the series, below, we take a look at two of the major storylines that need to be addressed in them.

But are they ready? “No, I don’t think he’s really ready for any of it. He’s just being dragged along by a current of madness, so he’s trying to react and swim gamely to the side and catching on to whatever crossing log might bring him to safety,” Chris O’Dowd (who plays Dusty) tells TV Insider. “So I don’t know if he’s ready, but he’s willing, I suppose.” On the other hand, Giorgio is “definitely ready,” according to Josh Segarra. “He’s always been ready, and now he finally has somebody to accept his ready. During a recent PaleyFest LA event celebrating “Family Guy’s” 25th anniversary (via People magazine), Warburton revealed that his parents hate the Seth MacFarlane-created animated comedy and their disdain for the show went so far that Warburton’s mom once tried to get “Family Guy” canceled.
“They hate the show even more today than they did 25 years ago,” Warburton said. “My father was in a monastery for three months.

No-holds-barred comedian and expert provocateur Katt Williams is testing limits again. The 52-year-old is debuting a live comedy special, Katt Williams: Woke Foke, as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest. You can bet on just about anything happening except the predictable — that isn’t Williams’ style.
A comedy legend, Williams performed his first stand-up show when he was still a teenager and got his own special in 2006 with The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1,in which he memorably donned a green velvet blazer and riffed on how “weed is getting stronger every two weeks.” He’s also appeared in movies like Friday After Next and Norbit and TV series including The Boondocks and Atlanta.
He’s developed a fast-talking, sharp comedic style, observing the American social and political landscape, and he’s always been a crowd favorite. In his most recent special, World War III, Williams took aim at conspiracy theories...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Jinx — Part 2 Episode 1.] The Jinx – Part 2 reveals what happened after Robert Durst‘s stunning confession to three murders. The confession led to his arrest, the aftermath of which is documented in Part 2 Episode 1, which premiered Sunday, April 21 on HBO. The first episode The Jinx – Part 2 presents two noteworthy moments — one that’s a shocking development that came from Durst’s first murder trial which saw him acquitted, and the other was a compelling, meta scene where viewers got to see the family of Durst’s murdered first wife, Kathleen McCormack, real-time reaction to his on-air confession. Here’s how each moment went down. A Juror From Durst’s First Murder Trial Helped Him Evade Arrest in 2015 Durst agreed to interviews for The Jinx Season 1, but declined for...
