Mélanie Laurent in Inglourious Basterds (2009)

I would kill Hitler, plain and simple. Pick a gun, go at a time before his rise, when he was harmless enough and erase him from history. Not that it would avoid the rise of fascism in Germany and its devastating consequences, but at least, I would have tried.

Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57 (1992)

I'd go to September 10 (or earlier) in 2001 and send a list of the 19 terrorists' names with all the details about the attack I would have copy-pasted from Wikipedia to the National Security Agency.

Tom Wilson in Back to the Future Part II (1989)

Call me shallow, superficial or predictable but I'd give myself the winning numbers of the National lottery or something with the same 'financial effect'. Yes, I want to be rich. You hear me? Rich! Rich! RIIIIICH! (crazy evil laugh)

Ewan McGregor in The Ghost Writer (2010)

Well, the result will be all the same, but with a little more. I will take all the volumes of my favorite book series or maybe all the scripts of my favorite movies or TV series and gave them to the version of myself preceeding these works' existences. I'll be the new JK Rowling or Matt Groening, the creator of Hunger Games or Friends, I'll have the money, the admiration and the talk-shows. My ego will be flattered and no one will ever know. (more evil laugh)

I have someone dear who died from a non natural cause, something that could've been avoided anyway. So I'd just go back at the right time to make sure it would never happen.

Columbia Dubose, Jodie Farber, Randy Means, and Steve Reed in JFK (1991)

Well, let's say I would do that for a celebrity or a historical figure. I can avoid the accident of Lady Diana or go back to Dallas before Kennedy was shot ... still, I would love to know from where that bullet... no, I mean, I would really save him.

Twin-brothers Charlie, left, and Donald Kaufman (both played by Nicolas Cage) couldn't be less alike.

I'd have a serious and heartfelt discussion with a younger version of myself, something that would start with "Listen to me kid because I'm gonna tell you everything you MUST do in your life if you want to be happier... and just take my word for it, you'll thank me later"

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in The Notebook (2004)

I'd go back to that doomed day where I let my soulmate walk away from my life ... and encourage my younger self to express his or her feelings before it's too late or avoid that mistake or comment that 'ruined everything'. I can hear some wise guys objecting : 'but you can do that with the previous option' maybe.... but wouldn't that affect the future and prevent the encounter from happening? Think 'butterfly effect'.

    Martin Luther King

I would avoid messing anything so I would simply chose to be a simple eye-witness to some significants events from the last century, Dr. King's speech, the Berlin wall, Woodstock, the first Man on the Moon, the premiere of "Star Wars" ... whatever I missed.

"The Grapes of Wrath" Eddie Quillan, Dorris Bowdon, Henry Fonda, Jane Darwell, Russell Simpson, Frank Darien, O.Z. Whitehead, John Carradine 1940 Twentieth Century Fox

I think I'd just say hello to my 'folks', pretend I'm some distant cousin who comes visiting the Family and share a precious moment that would be forever engraved in my memory.

James Dean picking up his 550 Porsche Spider from Competition Motors on the date of his fateful crash Sept. 30, 1955

I think I would meet my youth idol, my favorite artist, athlete or performer from the Golden Age and have an autograph, a little discussion ... and maybe, one or two warnings about the future.
