Jeffrey Tambor just won the Emmy for the second year in a row for for his role as a transgendered parent in the series Transparent. He also won the Golden Globe, in 2015, for his performance in that role, but he is not the first actor who won a major award for a performance as a transgendered parent: Felicity Huffman won the Golden Globe, and was nominated for an Oscar, in 2006, for her role in the film Transamerica.
