Poll: The Big Repentance: Corrupt Cops

Police is necessary for any healthy society. Without our upright officers, we would stick in chaos and maybe civilization would fall apart. So please give the officers in your neighborhood respect and a friendly smile!

In some movies criminal cops are the subject. They steal, blackmail other criminals, do drugs or prostitution, they keep money for shutting up and/or looking away or simply have their fun to beat someone and many other bad deeds. They are not trustworthy, whether for society or criminals. In one word: Corruption! In some of these films the bad officer repents his deeds by his own inner persuasion. These are golden changers, mostly everybody has some sympathy for. In other movies the decision to stop his (their) false game is made by upright colleagues or even other criminals.

(Spoiler bars attached to avoid spoiling the movie for you.) Which of these movies about repenting corrupt cops or upright police colleagues, or criminals who stop the worst uniformed guys is your favorite?

    Serpico (1973)

It was unbearable to Frank Serpico, how corrupt his police colleagues in the New York Police Department were. As he refused to take his advantages, too, his colleagues scorned him, so he tried to end it by telling the events to his superiors. But they just removed him from departement to department until he had enough and reported the deplorable state of affairs to a reporter from the New York Times. He (whistle-)blew up the bad system.
