- Lola Laszlo was the stepdaughter of Hungarian playwright Aladar Laszlo. She committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor apartment of Baron Frederick von Oppenheim, a German banker and industrialist. Laszlo had dined with the Baron at the St. Regis Hotel the Friday prior to her death, where she wrote him a note that included the line, "I lost my last orchid in you. Farewell."
Laszlo's despondent mother, Yolanda, committed suicide the following September by taking an overdose of sleeping pills. - Nell Kelly was born in 1910 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. She was an actress, known for Sorority Blues (1935), Perfect Thirty-Sixes (1935) and Home on the Range (1936). She died on 16 December 1939 in Bel Air, California, USA.
