Extremely prolific and ubiquitous extra Arthur Roland Tovey was born on November 14, 1904 in Douglas, Arizona. Tovey appeared in his first film in an uncredited minor role in 1924 and began working profusely as a background extra starting in the mid-1940's. One of the most busy and tireless of American bit players, Arthur popped up in scores of movies and TV shows alike in a career that spanned an impressive seven decades altogether and was still plugging away into his early 90's. Moreover, Tovey not only served in the U.S. Army during World War II, but also was a longtime member of both the Musicians Local 47 -- he was a musician all his life who was especially adept at playing the piano -- and the Screen Actors Guild. Arthur died at age 95 of natural causes at his home in Van Nuys, California on October 20, 2000.- Otto Reichow was born on 4 December 1904 in Tempelburg, Pomerania, Germany [now Czaplinek, Zachodniopomorskie, Poland]. Combination artist. Graduated from the Oryol Art College. After the revolution, he moved to a place of residence in the city of Oryol. In 1930 he graduated from the art-industrial school. During his studies and until 1932, he took an active part in the work of the Oryol branch (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia) and (Association of Youth of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia). He was a regular participant in the exhibitions of the Oryol branch of the AChR and OMAHR (we have a photocopy from the exhibition catalog - a catalog without illustrations). In 1932 moved to Leningrad, where he worked as an artist of the Artillery Technical School club. In 1932 entered the Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, he was sent to Kiev to work as an artist at Kievtekhfilm. In 1941-1945 he served in the Soviet army. After demobilization, he worked as a production designer at the studio of popular science films in Kiev until 1949. From 1949 to 1955 worked as a graphic designer in the Kiev Association of Artists (KTH). He took an active part in KTH exhibitions and regional exhibitions. During these years, in Moscow, under an agreement, he designed the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition. From 1955 to 1971 worked as an artist at the Dovzhenko film studio. After 1971 worked as an artist at the Lenfilm studio. During his work in cinema, he took part in the creation of 35 full-length feature films and a large number of popular science films. He worked under contracts with film studios in the Baltic countries and film studios in the Central Asian republics. He has the title of «Honorary Cinematographer of Russia».- Location Management
