Author and composer Howard Liebling was educated at Northwestern University and joined McCann Erickson as an advertising copywriter, eventually becoming a story analyst for 20th Century Fox and the William Morris Agency. He wrote special material for Julius Monk revues as well as for Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. Joining ASCAP in 1959, his chief musical collaborators included Jordan Ramin and Marvin Hamlisch, and his popular-song compositions included "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows", "That's the Way the Ball Bounces", and "The Travelin' Life".- In 1949, as a talented youngster, he got a big chance in Arne Skouens first film: "Gategutter", playing Reidar. This promising start did not lead into an acting career, except from two minor film parts in 1968 and 1969.
