Lyudmila Alekseevna Lyadova is a Soviet and Russian composer, pianist, singer. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of the Russian Federation. She was born in Sverdlovsk, in the family of professional musicians. Father, Aleksey Ivanovich Lyadov, was a soloist of the Sverdlovsk Opera House (tenor), then worked as a violinist in the orchestra (besides violin he played saxophone and mandolin). Mother, Yuliya Petrovna Lyadova, by education choirmaster, conducted amateur groups, sang for a long time in the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic. Lyadova started playing music in early childhood. Her parents seriously prepared her for the pianist's career. At first they invited to her a home teacher, then she was assigned to a music school by the well-known teacher Vanda Antonovna Bernhard-Tshska. At the age of 10, withstood a big contest, Lyudmila entered the children's department of the Sverdlovsk Conservatory. From the age of 11 the girl played the most complicated works of the classical repertoire at school evenings, holidays, at the club where her mother worked, participated in shows, festivals, competitions. In 1948 she graduated from the Sverdlovsk Conservatory. During the Great Patriotic War Lyadova met with a young singer Nina Panteleeva. Since that time, they have successfully performed together and in 1946 received the title of laureates of the 2nd All-Union Contest of Variety Artists. Their duet was very popular, they undertook a long creative tour around the country, but in 1951 it disintegrated at the initiative of Lyadova.- Following the death of Albert Grossman, Sally managed Bearsville Recording Studios and Bearsville Records. She appeared on the cover of Bob Dylan's album "Bringing It All Back Home" - the iconic woman in a red dress.
