Blue-eyed Vincent Cassel was born in Paris to a leading actor
father, Jean-Pierre Cassel, and a
journalist mother, Sabine Litique. Often labeled as a tough guy because of his roles,
eclectic choices and talent have made of him a star of European cinema.
First in La haine (1995), the young
actor, actually coming from upper classes, succeeded to express the
despair of a social class living in the suburbs of towns. This veracity
in his play comes from the fact that he was in fact since years in
connection with many hip-hop artists from the rising generation, (his
own brother was leader of a legendary french rap group). Then the
success of The Crimson Rivers (2000), where he plays a young French cop
alongside Jean Reno, made of him "the
man to count on." He never hid his taste for rap music, break dance,
Capoeira, Brasil and his endless energy, but Vincent is also a family
man, married to Monica Bellucci, his Italian co-star from
The Apartment (1996) (aka The Apartment); and recently a father.- Music Artist

Blue-eyed and well-built Italian actor in international cinema, Franco Nero, was a painting photographer when he was discovered as an actor by director John Huston. He has since appeared in more than 200 movies around the world, working with Europe's top directors, such as Luis Buñuel, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Claude Chabrol, Sergey Bondarchuk, Michael Cacoyannis, Elio Petri, Marco Bellocchio, Enzo G. Castellari, among many others.
Nero was born in Parma (Northern Italy), in the family of a strict police sergeant. His inclination for acting had already become obvious in his teenage years, when he began organizing and participating in student plays. After a short stint at a leading theater school, he moved to Rome, where he joined a small group of friends for the purpose of making documentaries. Still unsure of his ultimate vocation, he worked various jobs on the crew. He studied economics and trade in Milan University, and appeared in popular Italian photo-novels. This gave him a chance to gain a little role in Carlo Lizzani's La Celestina P... R... (1965).
A year later, the handsome face of Nero was noticed by Huston, who chose him for the role of "Abel" in The Bible in the Beginning... (1966) (aka La Bibbia). But success came after he got the role of the lonely gunfighter, dragging a coffin, in one of the best spaghetti-westerns; Sergio Corbucci's Django (1966). Nero then filmed a few other westerns of that style as Ferdinando Baldi's Texas, Adios (1966) and Lucio Fulci's Massacre Time (1966).
In 1967, Joshua Logan cast him in the film version of the musical Camelot (1967) (Warner Bros.), opposite Vanessa Redgrave, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe award. During filming of Camelot, he met actress Vanessa Redgrave, who become his long-time partner (they married decades later). He played with Catherine Deneuve in Luis Buñuel's Tristana (1970) and was directed by Sergey Bondarchuk in the war drama The Battle of Neretva (1969). Later, director Bondarchuk cast Nero for the role of famous American reporter "John Reed" in two-part "Krasnye kolokola II" (1982). In the late 60s and during the 70s, Nero played many different roles, but most of them connected with political and criminal genre, which criticized the Italian justice system.
In the early 80s, Nero was chosen for the role of the white ninja, "Cole", in Enter the Ninja (1981) and in 1990 as terrorist "Gen. Esperanza", opposite Bruce Willis, in Renny Harlin's Die Hard 2 (1990). He has also payed the roles of leading national heroes, such as "Garibaldi" (Italy), "Arpad" (Hungary), and "Banovic Strahinja" (Yugoslavia). In the USA, he has been in successful mini-series, such as "The Pirate" (Warner Bros), "The Last Days of Pompeii" (CBS), "Young Catherine" (TNT), "Bella Mafia" (CBS), "The Painted Lady", "Saint Augustine", and movies such as "The Legend of Valentino", "21 Hours to Munich", "Force 10 from Navarone", "Enter the Ninja", "The Versace Murder", and Letters to Juliet (2010).
He worked with the top European directors from Carlo Lizzani, Damiano Damiani, Luigi Zampa, Luis Buñuel, Elio Petri, Michael Cacoyannis, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Claude Chabrol, 'Vatroslav Mimica', Marco Bellocchio, etc. At the beginning of the 80s, he also began producing, writing and directing. Between films, he participates in various theatrical events.
Apart from his cinematographic work, Nero also works for charitable organizations. Over the last 45 years, he has been a benefactor of the Don Bosco orphanage in Tivoli. He has received many awards and, in 1992 for his artistic merits, a knighthood of the Italian Republic was bestowed on him by the President of Italy. In 2011, he was honored by Brunel University of London with the honorary degree of doctor of Letters honoris causa and, in Toronto, with a star on the Walk of Fame.- Actress

Chloe Coleman is an actress who by the age of 10 has been blessed to work opposite some of Hollywood's most celebrated talent. Of African, Eastern European and English descent, Coleman has been named a child performer headed for big-screen stardom on Hollywood Reporter's Young Hollywood List in 2019. Coleman brings to her grounded performances an inexhaustible athletic ability, contagiously good spirits, and a keenly perceptive mind for her age.
Coleman is the eldest daughter to Stephen and Allison Coleman. Her father is an Emmy-nominated camera-operator from Norristown, Pennsylvania and her mother a 4-time Emmy winning television producer, and DGA member who met while working on The Amazing Race (2001). Coleman grew up visiting TV & film sets and developed a tremendous curiosity and respect for the overall process and crew involved.
In her first television appearance at 5 years old, Coleman was cast as a ballerina on Glee (2009). At 6 years old, director Jean-Marc Vallée selected Coleman for the role of Skye Carlson in HBO's Emmy-winning drama series Big Little Lies (2017). Coleman fell in love with the profession after experiences on Big Little Lies allowed her to observe and work with Vallée and a phenomenal cast that made a lasting impression on the young actress.
Coleman made her feature film debut when Academy Award-winning director Tom McCarthy cast her in Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made (2020) for Disney+ and subsequently she landed her first leading role in Amazon's Original Movie My Spy (2020), directed by Peter Segal, in which Coleman leads alongside Dave Bautista. In My Spy, she portrays the highly manipulative Sophie Vale, a 9-year-old school girl who blackmails Bautista into training her to be a spy. Variety ranked My Spy the #3 spot in U.S. Top 30 Most-Watched SVOD Released Movies of 2020, only behind Hamilton and Borat 2. My Spy the Eternal City is in development with Bautista & Coleman attached.
Additional film and television credits are the stylized action-thriller Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) with Karen Gillan and an awe-inspiring cast, Coleman's first rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in Universal's Marry Me (2022), and Greg Daniels' sci-fi comedy Upload (2020), Season 1 & 2 for Amazon.

Along with fellow actors Lon Chaney,
Bela Lugosi and
Vincent Price, Boris Karloff is
recognized as one of the true icons of horror cinema, and the actor
most closely identified with the general public's perception of the
"monster" from the classic
Mary Shelley book, "Frankenstein".
William Henry Pratt was born on November 23, 1887, in Camberwell,
London, England, the son of Edward John Pratt Jr., the Deputy
Commissioner of Customs Salt and Opium, Northern Division, Indian Salt
Revenue Service, and his third wife, Eliza Sarah Millard.
He was educated at London University in anticipation that he would
pursue a diplomatic career; however, he emigrated to Canada in 1909 and
joined a touring company based out of Ontario and adopted the stage
name of "Boris Karloff." He toured back and forth across the USA for
over ten years in a variety of low-budget theater shows and eventually
ended up in Hollywood, reportedly with very little money to his name. Needing cash
to support himself, Karloff secured occasional acting work in the
fledgling silent film industry in such pictures as
The Deadlier Sex (1920),
Omar the Tentmaker (1922),
Dynamite Dan (1924) and
Tarzan and the Golden Lion (1927),
in addition to a handful of serials (the majority of which sadly
haven't survived). Karloff supplemented his meager film income by
working as a truck driver in Los Angeles, which allowed him enough time
off to continue to pursue acting roles.
His big break came in 1931 when he was cast as "the monster" in the
Universal production of
Frankenstein (1931), directed by
James Whale, one of the studio's few
remaining auteur directors. The aura of mystery surrounding Karloff was
highlighted in the opening credits, as he was listed as simply "?". The
film was a commercial and critical success for Universal, and Karloff
was instantly established as a hot property in Hollywood. He quickly
appeared in several other sinister roles, including
Scarface (1932) (filmed before
Frankenstein (1931)), the
black-humored
The Old Dark House (1932),
as the namesake Oriental villain of the
Sax Rohmer novels in
The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932),
as undead Im-Ho-Tep in
The Mummy (1932) and the misguided
Prof. Morlant in The Ghoul (1933). He
thoroughly enjoyed his role as a religious fanatic in
John Ford's
The Lost Patrol (1934),
although contemporary critics described it as a textbook example of
overacting.
He donned the signature make-up, neck bolts and asphalt spreader's
boots again to play Frankenstein's monster in the sensational
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
and the less thrilling
Son of Frankenstein (1939).
Karloff, on loan to Fox, appeared in one of the best of the
Warner Oland Chan entries,
Charlie Chan at the Opera (1936),
before beginning his own short-lived Mr. Wong detective series. He was
a wrongly condemned doctor in
Devil's Island (1938),
shaven-headed executioner "Mord the Merciless" in
Tower of London (1939), another
misguided scientist in The Ape (1940),
a crazed scientist surrounded by monsters, vampires and werewolves in
House of Frankenstein (1944),
a murderous cabman in
The Body Snatcher (1945) and
a Greek general fighting vampirism in the
Val Lewton thriller
Isle of the Dead (1945).
While Karloff continued appearing in a plethora of films, many of them
were not up to the standards of his previous efforts, including
appearances in two of the hokey Bud Abbott
and Lou Costello monster movies (he
had appeared with them in an earlier superior effort,
Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet the Killer Boris Karloff (1949),
which theater owners often added his name to the marquee), the low
point of the Universal-International horror movie cycle. During the
1950s he was a regular guest on many high-profile TV shows including
The Milton Berle Show (1948),
Tales of Tomorrow (1951),
The Veil (1958),
The Donald O'Connor Show (1954),
The Red Skelton Hour (1951)
and
The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956),
to name but a few, and he appeared in a mixed bag of films including
Sabaka (1954) and
Voodoo Island (1957). On Broadway
he appeared as the murderous Brewster brother in the hit, "Arsenic and
Old Lace" (his role, or the absence of him in it, was amusingly
parodied in the film version) and a decade later he enjoyed a long run
in "Peter Pan," perfectly cast as "Captain Hook."
His career experienced something of a revival in the 1960s thanks to
hosting the TV anthology series
Thriller (1960) and indie director
Roger Corman, with Karloff contributing
wonderful performances in
The Raven (1963),
The Terror (1963), the ultra-eerie
Black Sabbath (1963)
and the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired
Die, Monster, Die! (1965).
Karloff's last great role was as an aging horror movie star confronting
a modern-day sniper in the
Peter Bogdanovich film
Targets (1968). In 1970, he played the blind sculptor Franz Badulescu in Cauldron of Blood (1968), written, produced, and directed by Edward Mann, who had also come to the art of film from stage theater. His TV career was capped
off by achieving Christmas immortality as the narrator of
Chuck Jones's perennial animated
favorite,
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966).
Three low-budget Mexican-produced horror films starring an ailing
Karloff were released in the two years after his death; however, they
do no justice to this actor. In retrospect, he never took himself
too seriously as an actor and had a tendency to downplay his acting
accomplishments. Renowned as a refined, kind and warm-hearted
gentleman, with a sincere affection for children and their welfare,
Karloff passed away on February 2, 1969 from emphysema. Respectful of his Indian roots and in true Hindu fashion, he was cremated
at Guildford Crematorium, Godalming, Surrey, England, where he is
commemorated by a plaque in Plot 2 of the Garden of Remembrance.- Actor

He had one of Hollywood's most distinctive faces and a stentorian baritone voice to match. Character actor John Dehner, was born John Forkum in Staten Island, New York, the son of a globe-trotting artist. He attended school in France and Norway, in the process learning to speak four languages fluently. Back in the U.S., he graduated from high school in New York and proceeded to study for a diploma in art at the University of California. Any plans he might have had of following in his father's footsteps were derailed, however, when the acting bug suddenly took hold. In short order, the cash-strapped Dehner relocated to sunny California in search of a job. He worked for a while as a professional pianist and band leader but was then able to finagle a position as an assistant animator with Disney Studios for a salary of $18 a week. Dehner had a hand in several classic feature sequences, including Fantasia (1940) and Bambi (1942), as well as a few Donald Duck and Pluto cartoons. He returned to Disney in later years as a narrator and also played the part of Viceroy Don Esteban in an episode of the TV series Zorro (1957).
After leaving the Disney art department, Dehner did a stint as a public relations officer in the army during World War II and then returned to California as a radio announcer and news editor for stations KMBC and KFWB. In the course of many years, Dehner amassed a remarkable series of radio acting credits, most notably starring as Paladin in "Have Gun - Will Travel" and in similarly popular action programs like "Gunsmoke" and "Fort Laramie" (this, in spite of turning down several offers to play Marshall Matt Dillon on TV because he did not want to be typecast in westerns!). In films from the mid-40s, Dehner served a lengthy apprenticeship in assorted bit parts before graduating as one of Hollywood's most reliable villains, be they suave gamblers, crooked bankers, grifters or gunslingers. Just as often, his authoritarian demeanor proved perfect casting for stern fathers, military brass or cops. In The Left Handed Gun (1958), Dehner received second billing as Pat Garrett, co-starring opposite Paul Newman's Billy the Kid. On the small screen, he invariably made an impact as guest star in myriad classic TV shows, including Yancy Derringer (1958), Tales of Wells Fargo (1957), The Roaring 20's (1960), Maverick (1957), Bronco (1958), 77 Sunset Strip (1958), Rawhide (1959) and The Doris Day Show (1968) (a regular part during seasons four and five, as Doris's editor Cy Bennett). Dehner appeared in three episodes of The Twilight Zone (1959), reserving one of his best performances (displaying a wonderfully dry comic talent) as the titular huckster in late 1800s Arizona, in the episode "Mr. Garrity and the Graves" (1963).
One of Hollywood's most hard-working character actors, John Dehner died in Santa Barbara, California, on February 4 at the age of 76.- Tony Award-winning English actor Michael Gough, best known for playing
the butler Alfred Pennyworth in the first four
Batman (1989, 1992, 1995 & 1997) movies and for playing the
arch-criminal Dr. Clement Armstrong in
The Avengers (1961) episode "The
Cybernauts", was an accomplished performer on both stage and screen. He
was nominated twice for Tony Awards, in 1979 for Best Featured Actor in
a Play for Alan Ayckbourn's "Bedroom
Farce" and in 1988 in the same category for
Hugh Whitemore's "Breaking the Code",
winning in 1979. Though he never achieved on the small screen and
silver screen what he did in the theater, Gough's career in television
and movies spanned sixty-plus years over eight decades. Michael Gough
died at age 94 on March 17, 2011 at his home near Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. - Actress

Neil Breen was born on November 23, 1958. He started his career as a real-estate agent and architect in Las Vegas before switching to being an independent filmmaker.
Breen never attended film school; he learned everything he needed to know on his own. He deliberately makes independent films as he has stated he doesn't want to be a part of what he calls the "Hollywood insider's group". He self-financed, wrote, directed, edited, and starred in all of his independent films: Double Down (2005), I Am Here... Now (2009), Fateful Findings (2013), and Pass Thru (2016). He funds his films by the income he gathers from being an architect or via crowdfunding.
Breen's movies tend to have a supernatural nature where the protagonist (always portrayed by himself) is a messianic being who stands up for the greater good by confronting harmful people and powerful/corrupt institutions. This moral protector of the innocent people wants to clean the earth from all evil and wrongdoing. These thematic layers are often presented by long dialogues narrated by the protagonist himself.
Despite that, Neil Breen's films are generally perceived as very bad and amateurish features due to their poor production value and bad writing, acting, and editing. It's very likely that Breen gained a lot of fame due to this perception.- Actor

American leading woman of films and television in the 1950s, whose
career was hampered by injuries. Raised in San Francisco, Paula Raymond studied music, dance, and opera as a child. She made her film debut as a child
by chance in Keep Smiling (1938) during a visit to Los Angeles. She remained to attend Hollywood High School and to appear in local theater productions. She
returned to San Francisco for studies at San Francisco Junior College
and, while there, entered into a brief marriage. Divorced, she came
back to Hollywood and modeled. Although contracted to Paramount in
1947, she was released without working there and signed instead with
Columbia. She made numerous television appearances and low-budget
features before MGM signed her and began placing her in more important
projects, starting with Adam's Rib (1949). Despite good notices and some successful films, she was eventually released from her contract. She made several unimportant pictures as a freelancer, then left the industry in 1955. She worked a number of non-film related jobs under a variation of her married name, then returned to acting in 1958. She had a long string of success in
television, including State Trooper (1956), Mike Hammer (1958), Yancy Derringer (1958), Peter Gunn (1958), and others. This string of successes was shattered in a 1962 car crash. She was very nearly killed and had severe facial damage, requiring massive plastic surgery. Her beauty miraculously recovered, she managed to return to acting within a year and appeared occasionally into the 1970s. A series of subsequent falls injured her repeatedly, and she moved into business
interests, though remaining an actor at heart.- Actor

Page Kennedy is a multi-talented Shakespearean trained actor and rapper whose presence in Hollywood is breaking ground with his authentic self-expression tackling grief, trauma, and the human experience, through music. This summer, Page will be seen in the highly anticipated Warner Bros. sequel, "The Meg 2: The Trench" expanding his role of 'DJ' in theaters August 4, 2023. Evolving from "The Meg," 'DJ' has learned how to fight and take action, allowing him a front row seat in catching the elusive prehistoric creature. Parallel to that, he will be releasing his newest album of original music titled "A Book of Pages" (August 4, 2023), where fans can get an expanded look inside his life. The remix for his single "Chomp" off the album is featured in the credits for "The Meg 2: The Trench."
The thespian's career has been steadily on the rise since booking his first ever audition for the CBS comedy "The Kennedys" in 2001 after sneaking on to the studio lot as a mail courier. Since then, he has been seen in some of the biggest television and film productions. Most notably, he's remembered for his roles on HBO's "Six Feet Under" as the catalyst for 'Nate's (Peter Krause) acknowledgement of the afterlife, Showtime's "Weeds" as 'U-Turn' a drug dealer out to get 'Nancy' (Mary-Louise Parker), cult favorite "Blue Mountain State," the NAACP nominated Netflix comedy "The Upshaws" with Mike Epps and Wanda Sykes, and most recently as the ruthless pimp 'Percy' on FX's award winning series "Snowfall." His film credits include Columbia Pictures' "S.W.A.T." with Samuel L. Jackson, Lionsgate feature "In the Mix" with Usher, and "The Meg" (2018).
Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, Page began exploring his musical talents as early as seven years old, influenced by the sounds of Kurtis Blow, The Fat Boys, and Run-DMC. At 10 years old, Page began to record his own music sharing it with family and friends. It wasn't until 2017 when Page reached a point in his professional life where he was able to fully give himself to his first love and passion of rap music on a grand scale. Thanks in part to the continued expansion of self-publishing platforms for independent artists, he began to release one album and one mixtape per year. Listeners are invited inside a raw and unfiltered look at Page's life and point of view, offering a perspective on social consciousness and humanity, with music being his true therapy.
Heavily influenced by Michael Jackson, in both song and stage, Page began studying theater in high school, moving on to Western Michigan University. An outstanding performance at WMU for a graduate school showcase led to a bidding war among 17 graduate theater programs, and he chose the University of Delaware, which gave him an opportunity to concentrate on Shakespeare. Considering himself a lyricist, he was able to blend his passion for the various forms of art and expression professionally when moving to Los Angeles after intensive training in Delaware.
Just like Michael Jackson was to Page, he hopes that his journey in Hollywood inspires the next generation of artists. Page Kennedy is a proud father of four, residing in Los Angeles.- Lonnie Chavis was born in Southern California. British actor David Rappaport earned more roles and respect than most
guys his size (or any size for that matter) who attempted a
professional acting career. Born with the genetic condition dwarfism
(he was
3' 11"), he was often typecast in bizarre, sometimes silly and demeaning roles; but, like others before (Michael Dunn)
and after (Peter Dinklage), he rose to
the challenge and proved himself a talent to be reckoned with.
He was born David Stephen Rappaport on November 23, 1951, to a London
Jewish family and showed musical prowess at an early age. He learned
how to play both the drums and the accordion, which helped him out
financially during the lean years. He studied psychology at the
University of Bristol in 1969 and graduated with a degree while
developing a side interest in theatre and performing in plays and
revues. Following graduation, he married his college girlfriend, Jane,
and had a son, Joe, the following year. He gave school teaching a try
but left in 1977 to focus on his first love - acting.
Returning to England, he built up his reputation on TV and developed
celebrity status. He acted in and wrote for the program "Beyond the
Groove" and performed in a couple of children's series to boot. Film
showcases for David came unexpectedly with the scene-stealing role of
"Randall", the ringleader of a motley group of time-traveling thieves,
in Time Bandits (1981), and in
The Bride (1985) as "Rinaldo", a little
person who befriends a giant. American audiences were given a good
taste of David's charm, intelligence and razor-sharp wit with the
popular but short-lived series,
The Wizard (1986), as "Simon
McKay", the inventor of odd and exciting toys who derived great
pleasure out of being a good Samaritan. He followed this with the
attention-getting role of slick attorney "Hamilton Skylar" in a few
episodes of L.A. Law (1986).
Despite his successful professional career, David was beset by personal
unhappiness and acute depression. He was booked to play the darkly
comic role of Zibalian trader Kivas Fajo on "Star Trek: The Next
Generation" (episode "The Most Toys," subsequently played by gifted
Canadian actor Saul Rubinek). However, on May 2, 1990, Rappaport's
third suicide attempt was successful, as he shot himself in the chest
with a .38 caliber revolver he had bought 15 days earlier. The
38-year-old actor was buried at the Waltham Abbey cemetery in England.- Writer

Missouri-born Ellen Drew was born Esther Loretta Ray in 1914, the daughter of an Irish-born barber. After her parents separated when she was 15 years old, she worked various jobs (accountant, salesgirl) to support her mother and younger brother. At one time she worked at Marshall Field's Department Store. She then went to Kansas City as an elevator operator at the Aladdin Hotel, earning $14 a week. After rejoining her family in Englewood, Illinois, she found yet another job at the Grant store. The manager liked her fresh-faced good looks and high-wattage smile and entered her in a beauty pageant sponsored by the Kiwanis, which she ended up winning. Encouraged to try her luck in tinseltown, she got a job at Brown's Confectionary on Hollywood Boulevard for $11.50 a week before she was discovered in somewhat typical Lana Turner fashion. While working at an ice cream parlor, customer William Demarest took notice of her and was instrumental in having her put under a $50 a week contract at Paramount Studios in 1936, aged 21.
Initially billed as Terry Ray, she was groomed in starlet bits for two years until finally given a role she could sink her teeth into in the Bing Crosby musical Sing, You Sinners (1938). Her hair was changed from brunette to auburn (sometimes blonde) and her moniker changed from Terry Ray to Ellen Drew, after briefly being known as Erin Drew. Brighter roles came her way with If I Were King (1938) (which clinched her celebrity), Women Without Names (1940) and Buck Benny Rides Again (1940), but she never quite managed to distinguish herself among the bevy of Hollywood beauties on display and so remained on the outer fringes for most her career. Despite fine roles in fine movies, notably the Preston Sturges classic, Christmas in July (1940), and the Dick Powell starrer, Johnny O'Clock (1947), her film career went into decline. In the 1950s she transferred her talents to television before retiring the following decade. Married four times, including to writer/producer Sy Bartlett, she was survived by her son and five grandchildren when she passed away in 2003, aged 89, in Palm Desert, California.- Writer

Victor Jory was born in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. His burly physique made him a wrestling and boxing champion during his military service in the United States Coast Guard. After a few appearances on Broadway, he made his way into Hollywood in the early 1930s. His acting career spanned exactly 50 years, during which he played in nearly 200 films and TV series. In his early years he was cast in romantic roles, but it wasn't long before he began playing villainous parts, likely due to his "black eyes" which could easily give the impression of intimidation. He is remembered for his role as the ruthless overseer Jonas Wilkerson in Gone With the Wind, and his role as Lamont Cranston in The Shadow. He also played Oberon in the 1935 film version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Among these many co-starring roles, he also appeared in 7 Hopalong Cassidy films between the years 1941 and 1943, usually cast as the villain or a right hand man. The only Hopalong film in which he did not play a 'bad guy' was in Riders of the Timberlane where he played a hot blooded, broad-shouldered lumberjack. During his film career, Victor's voice also offered him the an extensive career in radio. He was the lead role in the radio series, Dangerously Yours, and he also narrated "Tubby the Tuba" and "Bumpo the Ballerina" for children. In the 1950s and 1960s, he began acting in television series while remaining in the film industry. He played the lead role of Detective Howard Finucane in the police drama series, Manhunt, which ran from 1959 to 1961. In 1962 he played Helen Keller's father in the film, The Miracle Worker, for which his co-stars Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft won Oscars. In 1964, he along with fellow actors Susan Seafourth and Coleen Gray testified before the United States Congress as part of Project Prayer, arguing in favor of an amendment which would restore school prayer, something which the United States had eliminated in the early 1960s. Victor Jory continued acting until he retired in 1980. He was married to Jean Inness Jory from 1928 until her death in 1978. Together they had two children, Jon and Jean. At age 79, Victor died of a heart attack on February 12, 1982, in Santa Monica, California.
