- Doc Holliday visits an old friend and his wife. He finds that his friend, now crippled, is being shaken down for money by the corrupt local sheriff, along with everyone else in town, and he plans to put a stop to it.
- A woman finds an injured fugitive in her barn. She soon finds that he has information about her husband who is overdue coming home from the war.

It takes place in a small Western gold mining town of Indian Creek. Giulio Mandati comes to Indian Creek to take over his brother's gold claim. The townspeople had hoped that the gold would be used to pay for a much needed dam. Giulio plans to use the riches to finance Garibaldi's Italian Reunification. General Giuseppe Garibaldi did ask for financing for the movement from sources around the globe, he received not only finances, but volunteers as well and in July 1860 launched his famous 1000 Redshirts volunteers to invade Sicily and conquered the Kingdom of Naples fro King Victor Emanuel.
