- A scientist is murdered by foreign agents after having developed a powerful new explosive. The scientist's brother, an army corporal, goes AWOL to discover the identities of the killers. Army intelligence officers are looking for him, as they believe he has a list of scientists who helped his brother develop the new weapon, putting them in danger. The spy ring is also after him, but they want the list for a different reason.
- Tarzan goes to Guatemala to find his lost friend, D'Arnot. On the way he helps Major Matling search Mayan ruins for hidden jewels and an idol containing the formula for a powerful explosive.

- Frankie Terris and Mannie Robbins are the two most powerful gangsters in their city. Frankie has a young sister, Louise, whom he has kept at a boarding school away from the stench of his racketeering. Mannie's young son, Joe, is also ignorant of his father's profession. Louise and Joe meet, and Joe tries to make love to her. Frankie interrupts and, in a fight that follows, kills Joe. Mannie vows to get Frankie. The latter, sentenced to Alcatraz, fears for Louise's safety and makes her promise to take a trip abroad. Louise learns that Mannie plans to shoot Frankie on the train taking him to prison, and she stows away in hopes of warning her brother. On the train, she falls into the protective arms of Federal Agent Bill Adams. Before she has a chance to warn Frankie, Mannie's henchmen go to work and a gangland shootout ensues.
- Mona Stewart, madcap, spoiled daughter of a wealthy man, becomes upset when she learns that her father is engaged to a woman she hates. She runs away, via various modes of transportation, and hires an ex-con, David Mannering, to drive her around as she eludes the all-out search conducted by her father and her fiancée, Ronnie Van Zandt. A romance is blossoming until her chauffeur is arrested for the murder of a crime-syndicate boss.
- Reporter Steve Haines (Boyd), on the trail of a business tycoon, follows his subject onto an ocean liner and gets wound up in a cruise full of intrigue, romance and murder.
- In Prussia shoemaker Voigt needs a residence permit to get a job, but can only get a job if he already has a permit. He dons a captain's uniform to order a platoon of soldiers to Koepenick to take over the Town Hall to get his permit.

- Elnora Comstock is the badly abused daughter of Katherine Comstock, who blames her because her father was drowned while on the way home the night she was born. She finds her comfort with Margaret and Westley Sinton, a childless neighboring couple, who help her with her school costs, as does the wealthy Mrs. Parker, who takes an interest in the talented young girl. She meets and falls in love with Phillip Ammon, the nephew of Dr. Ammon, but learns that he is already engaged. The money that Elnora has saved for her college education is stolen, and when Mrs. Comstock goes to retrieve it from a suspect, she also learns of the duplicity of her husband, who had been courting a neighboring woman on the night he drowned. She begs forgiveness of Elnora, and the romance of Elnora and Phillip also begins to flourish.
- A couple of rich girls at a private boarding school find themselves mixed up in gambling and blackmail, and must steal from their parents to pay their gambling debts.
- John Wallace is a crusading district attorney. The mob boss George Dickson is his number one target. Dickson enjoys the protection of several crooked politicians. With perseverance, Wallace collars his quarry and brings Dickson to trial.

- Texas Ranger Sergeant Jim Steele (Jim Newill) spots Pete Dawson (Bud Osborne) taking horses over the Mexico-Texas border, but Dawson has an alibi. A new group of recruits arrives at the Ranger station, among them, Tex Wyatt (Dave O'Brien), the son of Ranger Captain John Wyatt (Forrest Taylor), whom he hasn't seen for many years. Captain Wyatt tells Tex that, in the Rangers, he is there strictly on his own merit and there will be no favors played. He assigns Tex to pick up Dawson's trail, but orders that no arrest be made without proof. Jim, Tex and Ranger Panhandle Perkins (Guy Wilkerson) find Dawson and his men at the Oasis Trading Post where, forgetting his orders, Tex tries to arrest him. A fight ensues until Jean Lorin (Iris Meredith), the Post owner, covers the fighters with a gun and demands they stop. Dawson escapes and Captain Wyatt dismisses Tex from the Ranger Service for disobeying orders. The embittered Tex joins up with Rance Blair (I. Stanford Jolley) who, unknown to Tex, is partner of Dawson. He also unknowingly becomes involved with the rustlers, and is captured and arrested by the Rangers, but escapes. Captain Wyatt is wounded in the pursuit of the gang, and is captured and taken prisoner to their hideout.
- Henry Vane is released from prison after serving fifteen years for shooting the lover his wife took while he served in the army during World War I. Henry cannot adjust to modern London and the cold treatment he receives from his former friends, so he goes to France. While there he meets Sally, the bratty child of neglectful Claudine Pym, and Sally's governess, the shy but caring Elsie Summerstone. Henry is taken with Elsie, and to spend more time with her, he becomes friends with Sally, whose mother treats Elsie shabbily. One night, when Claudine goes to Monte Carlo with her rich, pompous boyfriend, Monte Alabaster, Sally leads Elsie on a chase through the hotel corridors and falls down the stairs. Henry helps Elsie take care of the child, who suffers a fractured arm, but when he finally succeeds in reaching Claudine, she says she will not return until the following morning. When Claudine returns, she yells at Elsie for allowing Sally to come to harm. Sally rises to Elsie's defense, and Claudine strikes her injured daughter. Claudine then fires Elsie, but when Elsie asks for the two months back wages owed to her so that she can return to England, Claudine cannot pay her and so rehires her. After Sally's recovery, Henry and Elsie watch her play, and Henry tells Elsie the story of his crime and punishment. Although she is usually compassionate, Elsie is horrified and runs off. Henry is disappointed, for he had hoped to marry Elsie, and he leaves the hotel. Elsie realizes her mistake and goes to apologize, but it is too late. After discovering that Henry is gone, Elsie also finds out that her mother is dangerously ill. Claudine gives Elsie a check for her wages, but the English consul cannot cash it. Elsie returns to the hotel and in desperation takes some money from Claudine's purse, which is not as empty as Claudine had claimed. Claudine sees Elsie take the money, and after they quarrel, Elsie throws Claudine to the ground. Claudine has Elsie arrested for robbery and attempted murder, and despite the obvious injustices committed against Elsie, she is convicted and sentenced to the Maison Masque, a prison where the inmates must where masks. During the trial, Sally locates Henry, and although he appeals to Humphrey Grylls, the British consul, nothing can be done. Henry visits Elsie, telling her that she is not alone, and that they have a bright future together. Outside the courthouse, Henry finds Sally, who has run away to visit Elsie. Not far behind her is Claudine, who arrogantly ignores the traffic and is run over and killed. Eventually, after many appeals, Grylls succeeds in obtaining Elsie's release. Henry gets Elsie from the prison and takes her to the beautiful home he and Sally, who is now his adopted daughter, have prepared for her.

- Bank teller Barry Webster is driven to stealing bank funds by his mother-in-law who continually nags him about forcing her daughter Muriel to live in poverty. He is caught and sent to prison and, while there, the mother forces Muriel to divorce him and marry a wealthy industrialist. After serving his term and being released, the new husband catches Barry and Muriel together. A shot is heard, the husband is killed and Barry and Muriel are accused of the murder.

Evans Construction Company, run by Arthur Hooyt, has all its money tied up in the work and must finish the dam on time in order to collect. Meanwhile crooked banker Edwin Markham has other plans and sends in a collection of all-star B-feature heavies, including Fred Kohler, Wally Wales, Slim Whitaker and the Dillard brothers, to wreck the dam. The saboteurs dynamite a mountain and cover up John Ince, the father of water-boy Frankie Darro, who vows to avenge his dad's death. Frankie works his way up to a job as a rider in the radio-dispatched horse-mounted patrol organized by Evans'daughter, and, alongside the construction foreman (LeRoy Mason) makes a last-ditch effort to halt the dynamiting of the dam.
- David De Portola, an outstanding athlete with an abundant youthful exuberance, is raised by a wealthy American guardian. He learns that he is the heir to the throne of Translavia and is recalled to accept the Crown, which along with the freedom of the country is threatened by the impostor, Black Prince. During a forbidden outing on the town with his college sidekick, Mickey Daniels, who has been brought along to make a (unintended) bungling Major Domo, David meets the lovely Princess Carmencita who, unknown to David, is to be the wife of the new King. David rejects his crown when told he must marry a girl he doesn't know. Black Prince has no trouble detaining him until David learns that Princess Carmencita is the girl he must marry. Delighted with this prospect, he saves the country, Crown and Princess following a wild and humorous escape from his captors.
- While in Singapore, a man and a pretty young girl find themselves mixed up in blackmail and murder.
- The owners of a lumber mill hire an investigator to find out who is sabotaging their mill. He discovers that the sabotage is being committed by the mill's manager, who is taking payoffs from rival mill owners. He devises a plan to expose the corrupt manager.
