- Jack Paar reflects on past shows, in his final broadcast, excerpts of special guests from past shows: Richard Burton, Beatrice Lillie, Bette Davis, Liberace, Jonathan Winters, Rev. Billy Graham, and Jayne Mansfield.
- Paar relates a prank call Winters played disguising his voice as President Kennedy, launching JFK routine. Bette Davis, extremely hoarse, shows Jack, Jonathan and Giselle McKenzie how to do a badly overwrought impersonation of herself.

- From London, Jack's first guest Judy Garland cattily reviews Marlene Dietrich, then he has Morley basically talk about how weird he is, then Churchill joins them to have a confusing shouting match with Morley while Jack quietly smirks between them.
- Musical-comedy star Mary martin and the comedy team of Mike Nichols and Elaine May are Jack's guests on the first show of the new season. Jack shows films of his recent visit to Miss Martin's ranch in Brazil, where she raises chickens and cattle. Mary also appears in person to sing on the program. The Nichols-May comedy team, which made its TV debut on Jack's "Tonight" show in 1957, makes the first of six scheduled appearances.
