- During a local fair, a young under age 16 year old girl gets drunk, despite being cautioned that she was too young by her stepfather of two years. The stepfather, and the girl's boyfriend, on leave from the army, are later seen arguing. The stepfather is later found dead, and the girl has blood all over her blouse when attended to for her drunkenness by the doctor, she claims it was from a nose bleed.The police fancy her for the murder and she is taken in for questioning. At a check up with the police doctor, she admits to being pregnant, and asks for help for an abortion. Her boyfriend, turns up at the police station and claims he committed the murder, however, when questioned, he does not know many of the facts that the police do and they release him. When the girl falls down stairs, and miscarries the child she is expecting, it turns out the baby is not her boyfriend's. She then tries to commit suicide, but is stopped in time, then tells the truth about the father of the child, and her part in the killing.

This episode spends a day with Dr Dangerfield with a number of incidents he attends as a Police Surgeon around Warwick and the surrounding area. A police officer is accused of assaulting a suspect and an unexplained death at a nursing home, as well as his "day job" as a GP.
