- Set in the time of Napoleon wars, shows how the wars swept over the unfortunate Polish country at the beginning of the 19th century. Story revolves around the Polish legion under command of General Dabrowski, who then fought on Napoleon's side with the hopes of Poland's revival.

Meanwhile, vice chancellor Mikolaj Traba suspects that important information is leaking from the royal court. The source of the leak is one of the church officials coerced by Teutonic Knights who kidnapped his niece. Hubert and Jaksa team up with the local strongman Dzieweczka and are sent to liberate canon's niece and uncover Order's plot.
- Set in the 16th century, the film deals with the so-called Confederation of Warsaw of 1573, a groundbreaking document conceived by Polish Protestants to promote religious tolerance, equal rights and protection for various denominations.

The title character is the later Grand Chancellor of the Crown, Jan Zamoyski. The fate of Jan Zamojski, who was the first character in the country after the king, during the reign of Stefan Batory, is presented in the series by his personal secretary and confidant, Reinhold Heidenstein, who recreates the wonderful career of his powerful protector in the chronicle. This German by origin who became a Polish historian is the second important character of the film, having its authentic prototype in the past. The third person among the leading characters in the series is Captain Szymon Mroczek, a friend of the outlaw Samuel Zborowski, a supporter of the rule of a strong hand and ending the arbitrariness of the nobility.
