A great adventure story

Warning: Spoilers
In a small cabin deep in the arctic north, men sit around a stove, playing cards, drying clothes and doing their best to forget about the incredible -50 degree cold outside and the long arctic night. The door bursts open and in staggers a creature that was once a large and healthy man. Nose tip and fingers gone from frost bite, his shoes half eaten in hunger, he agrees to some broth and a short sit by the fire but then he must go on, at all cost.

I read this Jack London novella several years ago. I'm amazed that the movie hasn't been remade into a modern movie. It's a tale of a poor northern man who dedicates his life searching the vast frozen North for his young bride who was kidnapped and torn away from him by white men from the South. The story spans decades and thousands of miles of terrible and breathtaking country, while all the hero can think about is the fear and heartache that his young timid bride must be enduring, having never been more than a few miles from her home before the night she was stolen from him. He vows to bring her home and crush the men that took her.
