Vultures of Society (1916) - Lost Film

Warning: Spoilers
Schoolgirl Teddy Bimms ( Lillian Drew ) craves the good life and falls in love with Raymond Raphael ( E. H. Calvert ), a jewel thief masquerading as Prince Aggregio. After Raymond kidnaps the real Prince Aggregio ( Hugh E. Thompson ) and imprisons him at Diamond Kate's ( Mae Howard ) gangster hideaway, he deserts Teddy, who becomes the mistress of Abraham Cleverman ( Ernest Maupin ), a wealthy businessman. When Cleverman's wife gives a ball for her daughter Eloise ( Marguerite Clayton ), Teddy demands to be invited and comes disguised as Theodora De Menza, a Brazilian heiress. During the festivities, Teddy observes Raphael stealing jewels from the guests. To expose Raphael as a fake, Teddy gives her own masked ball and induces him to confess his crime within earshot of a detective. Raphael leads Teddy and the detective to Diamond Kate's hideout where the real prince and Eloise are being held prisoners by gangsters. Grateful for his rescue, Prince Aggregio proposes marriage to Teddy and she happily accepts.

This exciting 1916 drama produced by the Essanay Film Manufacturing Company, sadly now remains a lost film.
