Oliver Hardy became a Hollywood legend after pairing up with Stan Laurel to form the comedic duo Laurel and Hardy. Together, the pair produced 79 shorts and 27 features. Yet how many of those titles are classics? Let’s take a look back at 10 of Laurel and Hardy’s best feature films, ranked worst to best.
Laurel and Hardy were already established comedians in their own right before they teamed up for a series of shorts produced by Hal Roach (of “The Little Rascals” fame). One of their most famous, “The Music Box” (1934), won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short (Comedy).
Their first official foray into features was a cameo appearance in “The Hollywood Revue of 1929” (1929), a musical variety meant to introduce MGM’s silent movie stars to sound. (It’s a sign of the times that this plotless hodgepodge managed to snag an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.

So, here we are. It’s 2017. The world hasn’t ended, and “Saturday Night Live” is back. Did the episode tackle Trump? Yes, somewhat. Was it a good episode? Not especially. Will you have a clear idea of who Felicity Jones is, and what her brand is, despite the fact that she was nominated for Best Actress just last year and we should probably get her by now? No. But are there still any sketches worth watching? Absolutely.
Pardon us: The monologue had a special guest star who burned Internet reviewers and threw us off our game. Or Did It? (It did — have a guest, at least.)
Host: Felicity Jones
Felicity Jones is a good actress, an Academy Award nominee, the star of her own “Star Wars” spinoff, and a fairly prolific indie performer too. But who Is she?...

Pardon us... we spent the night in a glass case of emotion, so we're feeling a little worse for wear. But no less motivated to bask with you in the tragic glory of Adele's new album, 25, which dropped just hours ago and has been pounding from our speakers (and in our hearts) ever since. When the first tear-jerker of a single, "Hello," dropped a month ago, the British songbird—who by the sake of not being very available over the last few years made her new LP perhaps the most hotly anticipated album-not-by-Taylor Swift ever—assured that it wasn't just a breakup tune. And 25 is not a breakup album, which 21 admittedly was (although to call Adele's music "just"...

Part of me feels bad for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The two wrote the new Vacation movie (in theaters as we speak), and have spent the week trying to promote it to local and national media. Yet, all anyone wants to talk about is their next gig, writing the solo Spider-Man movie for Marvel. Pardon us, ever so slightly, for also jumping into the fray. Daley and Goldstein opened up to Vulture about their approach to Spider-Man, repeating a number of talking points that many involved with the project have already said: Peter Parker will be in high school in this new movie; he.ll be a geeky outcast; we won.t have to endure the origin story again, etc. But when you combed through their Spidey speak looking for interesting nuggets, you realize how much work is going into connecting this Untitled Spider-Man movie to the pre-existing...

Besties Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have been assaulting our adorable receptors and making us say "awwww" till we're hoarse for months with their adorabro friendship, and their latest offering may have topped even their previous silly hat adventures. Pardon us as our hearts melt, but Stewart and McKellen played the Newlywed Game together and were terrible at it, so how can we be blamed? To be fair, this latest gem is actually from late ...

See Chris Evans jump. See Chris Evans run. Run, Chris Evans, run!
So goes the tone for the first full trailer for Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the latest addition to the comic book powerhouse's line of uber-successful film adaptations.
Evans, the titular capitán, also known as Steve Rogers, is still carting around plenty of that WWII-era angst that made us love him so much in the first place: "Well, all the other guys in my barbershop quartet are dead" he quips when asked about his weekend plans. Yeah, dude's got plenty to avenge.
And avenge it he does, taking down an elevator full of people in a clip we first caught a glimpse of this summer at San Diego Comic-Con. That's not to mention a knife fight and one hell of a staring contest with his presumed-dead former Bff Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who (spoiler alert!) has been resurrected...

Pardon us for not being more excited about this, Gleeks, but we can't get too pumped that Bette Midler has publicly agreed to be on "Glee" after Ryan Murphy asked her to appear during a speech at a charity event.
Murphy live-blogged the encounter on his Twitter, writing, "I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!"
Photos: "Glee" Season 4
Later, he updated his 275,000-plus followers that Midler had agreed. "Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting...who should she play?"
Feeling a little deja vu? Us too. There have been a few high-profile supposed "Glee" guest appearances that never happened. Remember when Anne Hathaway was going to show up? What about when Gloria Estefan was cast as Santana's mom and she didn't even sing? Or when Charice was supposed to have a major arc, but sang like two songs and went away?...

Pardon us if we don't see the resemblance: "Beverly Hills 90210" alum Jennie Garth has signed on to star in "Nancy Grace's Eleventh Victim," an adaptation of Grace's semi-autobiographical debut novel. Garth will play Atlanta assistant district attorney Hailey Dean, whose fiancé is murdered. Then she wins the conviction of a serial killer (Clint Burrell Cruise, in the tradition of serial killers with three names) and moves to New York City to begin a new career as a therapist. In Grace's novel, "The Eleventh Victim," Dean's therapy patients become victims of a...

We giggled a bit after reading that Jessica Simpson declared herself a “businesswoman.” After all, this is the woman who will forever be burned in our brain as someone who thought Chicken of the Sea tuna fish was actually chicken. But then we read how much her brand has raked in – $750 million worldwide!!! – and we almost keeled over and passed out in a pile of our credit card bills. Pardon us for ever doubting you, Jess. What you lack in commonsense you clearly make up for in fancy business lady knowledge. Would you be interested in maybe buying us lunch and paying off our Visa card?
Jessica told Us Magazine that, “This year, I’ve taken time for myself to enjoy being engaged and in love and being a businesswoman instead of an entertainer.” She also apparently spends a decent amount of time actually working on her designs (clothes, shoes,...

Awards season has been chugging along for weeks, with little-known critics groups and associations doling out awards and nominations. But unless you've been seeking out the Southeast Film Critics' picks or paying attention to what the Broadcast Film Critics have to say, you haven't yet dialed into what's going on in Hollywood.
That's about to change, as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announces its nominations for the 68th annual Golden Globes on Tuesday morning. Which films and actors are locks, which are hoping to be included, and which have no shot at all but really should? Check out some of MTV News' picks.

Pardon us while we liken a Thanksgiving potluck to a good television show (stay tuned, we'll be making our point shortly). At a Thanksgiving potluck, everyone brings one specialty dish to create a delicious spread. Ultimately, it's the golden-brown bird that takes center stage. But a lone turkey does not a full feast make: The special side dishes are what make the meal complete. And the same is true of a good television show. Sure, we could go on and on about our favorite series' big stars.but there's more to a television show than its on-screen talent. So this year, we're thankful for the showrunners, writers, set designers, and other behind-the-scenes folks who help make television worth watching. Here are ten of our favorites... add... More >>...

Her mom must have just taken the child security code off the family computer, because why else would Taylor Momsen be talking about the Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee sex tape so long after it happened? Didn’t that thing come out when Taylor was like, 2? Pardon us while we dry-heave over that thought. Quoth Momsen, “If it’s a good sex tape, I’ll watch it … I like some adult stars. I have a couple favorites.” Ah yes, only finest sex tapes for our little Taylor! Momsen then added: “But I will say this: That Tommy Lee-Pamela Anderson video wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t f**k Tommy Lee.” Also because he is old enough to be your father, right? Right? Don’t worry Taylor, we doubt Tommy Lee is crying into his pillow because you won’t hop into bed with him. Ew, actually knowing him,...

In a rare glimpse of a talk show host being literally struck speechless, Oprah Winfrey was shocked, shocked by talk of Jenny McCarthy’s unruly bikini line on her show yesterday. Winfrey’s jaw practically dropped onto the sound stage as McCarthy shared Tmi times ten about showing up to her first Playboy shoot au naturale. Jenny all but used hand puppets to explain how, “All of a sudden I hear Woah, Woah! And I said is there anything on it? What’s wrong?” It took a kindly makeup artist to explain to Jenny, “They said they never saw anyone as hairy as you in their entire life!”. The same stylist then joked about the brush she had used to comb out McCarthy’s lady bits, saying, “I guess I’m not using this one again!” Pardon us while we die, forever. If we were Oprah, who finishes her show’s final season next year,...

Robert Pattinson left London via Healthrow airport yesterday, with just his guitar as companion. Kristen Stewart left Los Angeles via Lax yesterday. A number of media sources say that they were both spotted in their respective airports, and that both are headed for Vancouver, so they will be together in Canada. Taylor Lautner will be there too, all three to do some final shooting on The 'Twilight' saga 'Eclipse' and to start to push their movie so fans won't forget the film will hit theaters at the end of June. As if the fans could ever forget. The bigger question is are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart going to be together - as in boyfriend and girlfriend - as they do their work in Canada? Pardon us if we doubt it. These are actors playing roles that should not be confused with - you know - real life. We understand...

Michael Lynche, Alex Lambert lead the pack in a week that showed much-needed improvement.

The top 10 "American Idol" men could only improve after last week's string of uninspiring, borderline panic-inducing, "Hoo boy, this season is looking weak" musical performances. On Tuesday night's show, improve is exactly what they did ... most of them, anyway.
The evening was still pocked with pitchy renditions, poor song choices and "How is this dude still around?" confusion, but overall the men stepped up in their second week of live shows. Who surprised us, who disappointed us and who's in danger of going home? Let's take a look at the top 10 men's report card. (And don't miss Jim Cantiello's review in the Newsroom.)
