Sex & Nudity

  • It is implied that Romeo and Juliet had sex on their wedding night, but we never see them in bed together. Juliet is in bed while Romeo is kissing her, but with both feet on the floor. Neither of them are nude, or wearing anything revealing.
  • There are incredibly vague references to sex in the text itself, which will go unnoticed by children and are not vulgar in any way

Violence & Gore

  • The movie begins with a street brawl in which presumably several people are wounded or killed.
  • However, no blood is ever shown.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The speech that Juliet makes before taking the sleeping potion is rather intense, but not really frightening.
