Second of three films from 1938-9 that Columbia paired Melvyn Douglas and Joan Blondell. The others being There's Always a Woman (1938) and The Amazing Mr. Williams (1939). They would not work together again until MGM's Advance to the Rear (1964).
The $123.90 bill at the nightclub would equate to about $2,660 in 2022.
The male lead was initially intended for Charles Boyer, but he turned it down to star in Love Affair (1939) at RKO.
